Children

Three live sons + one stillborn son

Loss of child due to infant asphyxiation = Sarpa-sapa yoga during Rahu transit to Guru in Shukra/Guru period

Jyotisha Children case study #2: one stillborn three healthy sons

Jyotisha Children case study #2: D-7 for one stillborn three healthy sons

This dedicated wife and mother raised three wonderfully talented, highly intelligent sons. The children received excellent professional-scientific educations. They have all demonstrated high levels of social responsibility in their communities. All three are distinguished, creative thinkers who are agents of positive social change.

Despite the success of raising her live children to happy and productive adulthood, the loss of her third stillborn child remains a deep sorrow for this mother.

General conditions in the nativity, regarding children and childbirth:

Rahu in Sarpa-sapa Yoga

Sarpa-sapa Yoga (not to be confused with Kala-Sarpa yoga) =

  • Rahu occupies the 5th house and

  • Rahu receives the drishti of Mars.

  • Sarpa-sapa Yogaindicates possible sudden harm to children.

  • traditional ly it is said that children will die, due to the curse of snakes. (Rahu is a snake-like god.)

General conditions of the child-karakas:

  • L-1 Shukra Occupies 11th-from-5th= fruitful for children in general

  • L-5 Shani Occupies 12th-from-5th= loss of children

    • L-5 Shani occupies friendly signs of Shukra in D-9 and D-7

    • L-5 Shani = exalted in the 10th saptamsha, very favorable

    • In general Shani is not too harmful

  • L-9 Budha Occupies 8th-from-9th= sudden, forced changes for the third child

Guruis associated with some child-destroying influences, but L-3+L-6 Guru is not a default killer

  • Guru occupies the sign of friend Surya, in thegainful 11th house.

  • Atmakaraka L-6 Guru has the radix superior degree of 29:29:30= an extraordinarily weak "gandanta" position that is *unstable* and easily influenced by marauding malefics..

  • L-6 = 2nd-from-5th = potential to trigger the poisoning death of a child - but this potential must be activated

  • Guru owns and aspects L-8 Shukra. As12th-from-9th, Shukra = potential loss of the third child - but this potential must be activated

  • Guru = yuti maraka L-2+L-7 Mars in radix, navamsha, and saptamsha. Guru has the superior degree in all the Guru-Kuja pairings.

    • When activated, Guru can execute Kuja's maraka duties, exacerbated by the Sarpa-sapa yoga upon Rahu in bhava-5.

    • Guru, Shukra, and Kuja occupy a navamsha of Guru

    • hus Guru *can* provide the material expression to the psychic agenda of L-8 Shukra and L-2+L-7 Kuja.

  • Guru is also with Kuja in saptamsha, in a D-7 rashi of Shani, the radix-4 for loss of children. - but this potential must be activated

Guru's involvement in theSarpa-sapa yoga remains dormant until activated. The activator = Gochara Rahu-Ketu transiting Simha-Kumbha

  • On the day of the stillbirth, Transiting Rahuentered the rashi of Simha, contacting unstable gandanta Guru exactly (Rahu travels "backwards" so Rahu's first entry into Simha rashi = 29:59 the degree of the mother's natal Guru.)

  • Rahu's transit activated Guru's malefic potential o poison the child through extreme stimulation of the existing Sarpa-sapa yoga.

  • In the Shukra/Gurustillbirth, the baby - who had been healthy according to all pre-natal check-ups - was asphyxiated by fecal matter ("mecomium") in birth canal, and was dead upon emergence.

vimshottari dasha Children case study #2 stillborn 3 healthyBy contrast,a healthy sonwas born in the earlier"unactivated" Shukra/Kujaperiod.

  • Despite Kuja = maraka L-2+L-7, and casting drishti upon Rahu in bhava-5, the native 's eldest son was born successfully in the period ofShukra/Kuja. (Indeed that son is now nearly 60 years old.)

  • During the Shukra/Kuja period birth, Rahu-Ketu transited Vrischika-Vrishabha (Scorpio-Taurus) which did not activate the Sarpa-sapa yoga

Vimshottari timelords in force at time of four infant births for this mother:

L-8 Shukra effect

The effects of L-8 Shukraare activated during the Shukra/Guru period because Guru is the dispositor of Shukra.

L-8 = lord of 12th-from-9th = strongest child-loss effect re: the 3rd child = bhava-9. o find the children in birth order in the radix chart:

  • First child healthy, represented by house 5.

  • Second child healthy, represented by house 7.

  • Third child stillborn, represented by house 9.

  • Fourth child healthy, represented by house 11.

Rahu effect on the three living children

Rahu is particularly disruptive in Kumbha, the rashi of conservative, stability-loving Shani.

True to Rahu's bhava-5 nature, this woman's children have brought great social tension and drama into her life.

  • Her sons are eccentric, talented, pro-risk personalities showing a mixture of genius and social disregard. The family is wealthy (L-2 in 11; L-11 yuti L-5) and all progeny are leaders in New Age fields (Kumbha).

  • The mother's mental and physical health have vacillated, due to Moon/6. There was some serious post-natal depression which in the 1950's and 1960's was culturally ignored.L-10 Chandra in bhava-6 generally indicates that the native 's social dignity is marginalized.

  • She grieves privately for the lost third child, even today. Due to L-5 Shani in the super-conventional swakshetra bhava-4, the native 's culture does not acknowledge or support her claim to grief.

As teens and adults, the living children challenged social norms(Rahu in Kumbha) and over-used drugs (Guru yuti Ketu). Because Saturn is strong and grounded in the mother's rashi, the children's drug usage was not socially damaging. The children continue to serve society as educated well-paid professionals.

Rahu period general effects

Rahu casts drishti to the lagna while amplifying lord Shani. During Rahu's 18-year-long mahadasha, the native developed a highly eccentric personality and her adult children's non-conformism reached new heights. However these troubles never exceeded social tolerance due to the constraining effect of stable, swakshetra Shani (the basic respectful values of the mother's home culture).

  • When Rahu-Ketu dominate bhava-5, a great flexibility toward social norms is required of the mother. She has succeeded largely because, despite of her conservative upbringing (Capricorn dominance in house 4) she has allowed love and freedom of through to reign over convention.

Grandchildren arrive

  • Rahu/Rahuperiod and again Rahu/Guru period brought to this mother the joys of grand-parenting.

  • Neither Rahu/Rahu nor Rahu/Guru period were disturbed by "triggering" Rahu transits through Kumbha-Simha.

Indeed the Sarpa-sapa yoga in the mother's chart does not harm her grandchildren. While children may be indicated via bhava-5 or bhava-9, grandchildren are represented only through bhava-9)
