obtainment of children will be there."

ch6_dasha1.GIFOverall health:

  • L-6 Budha (planning, organizing) + L-8 Surya (Makara = anti-government politics) in Surya-ruled political-dramatic Uttaraashadha lagna

  • overall health problems due to argumentative mentality = L-6 Budha in lagna

  • many setbacks in life = L-8 Surya-Makara ruled by enemy Shani, in lagna

  • a religious person = L-9 in lagna

  • seeking attention via politics = Simha Chandra + Guru + Surya-ruled Uttaraashadha in lagna

Rahu-Rahu = marriage

This young woman married in Rahu-Rahu period where Rahu gives effect of Mangala = lord of L-7 navamsha.

Yuti Rahu + yuti Shani, the disposition of Mangala is profit-seeking by instrumental means (Rahu), sexually volatile, and somewhat secretive, with a proclivity to use controlled violence (Mangala + Rahu + Shani Vrischika) as a method of effecting social change (11).

  • The female native and her husband along with many in her social circles (11) were activists in the Tamil Tiger political sovereignty movement.

The female native hails from a traditional family = Shani L-1+L-2. Despite the political radicalism apparent in Simha-8, her religious values are distinctively lawful albeit somewhat punitive = L-6+L-9 Budha rising in rashi of Shani.

Chandra is associated with "folk religion" and the native's understanding of religion as a defining element of an ethnic tradition was adamantly strong. Her central motivation in having children was achievement of social rank and respect, specifically as the mother who would raise children according to the ethno-religio-politico principles with which she was socially identified.

  • The native declared, "I will be nothing unless I can prove myself as an mother."

Considering the difficult graha in 4th-from-Chandra, it is understandable that the native felt she needed to correct errors of her own upbringing by raising her children according to stricter standards.

Rahu-Guru = infertility struggle

After marriage this young woman expected birth of children. Normally a Rahu/Rahu marriage is followed by children during Rahu/Guru. However unfortunately Guru in randhra bhava = inauspicious for children. During Rahu/Guru her husband (Guru) was medically declared infertile (biologically sterile).

Guru = reproductive fertility, acquisition of children by all methods

  • = putrakaraka + Chandra = auspicious for fertility

  • Guru inauspicious in 8

  • = L-5 from Chandra = yuti Chandra = children bring creativity and wisdom

  • = L-8 from Chandra = yuti Chandra = children generate in this life emotional upheavals, emergencies and sudden changes, and shocks

  • Guru = L-5 from Chandra = auspicious for fertility

Chandra = maternal instinct

  • L-8 in 7 brings sudden upheavals into marriage

  • husband prone to political terrorism (this fellow was a Tamil Tiger many years ago; he was eventually killed by a bomb explosion at a political event)

  • Purvaphalguni Chandra = native is pleasure-loving and enjoys the fruits of secret money (8)

  • L-8 in 7 + Shukra-ruled Purvaphalguni Eventually she enjoyed numerous extramarital pleasures as well.

Two children during Rahu/Shani period.

Child-1 arrived = Rahu-Shani-Rahu = by adoption

Child-2 arrive = Rahu-Shani-Guru = by natural birth

  • Lagnesha = Shani

    • greatly amplified via Rahu

    • Shani = in 11 + Rahu + Mangala

    • Shani = L-1+L-2; Shani = L-6+L-7 from Simha Chandra [family history, values]

    • Shani = lord of 5th saptamsha.

  • L-5+L-10 = yogakaraka Shukra in rashi of Chandra; Shukra = L-3+L-10 from Simha Chandra

    • Shukra "double L-10" = public reputation and respect [motherhood was needed to achieve these, in the native's view]

    • L-5 Shukra receives drishti of Guru and Chandra

  • L-9 = Budha

    • L-6+L-9 Budha = L-2+L-11 from Simha Chandra [material and social goals]

  • L-9 from Chandra = Kuja

    • L-4+L-11 Kuja = yogakaraka 4-9 from Chandra.

The three Vrischika graha in bhava-11 = cast drishti upon putra bhava

their dominance in order of degree = Rahu (22 deg.), Kuja (18 deg.) and Shani (9 deg.)

Rahu therefore is empowered to carry out the agenda of both Kuja and Shani.

Kuja also can carry out the agenda of Shani.

L-4 Kuja + Rahu pursues goals "whatever it takes"

L-1 Shani initiates an empowered quest for social self-definition = L-1 (self) in 11 (social community)

This young mother believed child-adoption to be her only chance for motherhood and meaningful identity.

During Rahu-Shani period, the native endured an emotional roller-coaster private adoption full of misunderstandings, large hidden expenses, cancellation of agreements, separations, and delays. Shani = L-6 from Chandra+ L-6 from Guru, yuti the volatile Mangala + Rahu "marketplace" factors for purchase of an "ethnically pure child" (L-4 Mangala = folk beliefs, blood + Rahu amplifier)

After tremendous struggle she obtained a beloved infant daughter.

Rahu/Shani made her exhausted, but she was deeply engaged in mothering and looking forward to dedicating her life to her tiny new child.

But remember: this is Rahu.

  • She became " impossibly" pregnant within days of the final adoption, and ended up severely overwhelmed with two children and very little support.

The entire Rahu Mahadashawas extremely difficult, although she certainly achieved her main goals!

Rahu chaotic desire-nature

Putra bhava

  • Occupied by Ketu = eccentric or unusual first child, does not fit the norms. The first child is beautiful (L-5 Shukra) but disconnected

  • drishti of lagnesha+L2 Shani

  • drishti of L-4 (patriotic nationalism, home) / L-11 (goals) Kuja

  • L-5 Shukra receives the procreative aspect of child-karaka Guru

  • L-5 Shukra receives the gainful aspect of L-11 Kuja

Harsh, direct aspects of three malefics (Shani, Mangala, Rahu) and occupation by Ketu would suggest a peculiar situation with children in general and the first child in particular.

Dharma bhava

  • receives no harmful aspects

  • 9th-lord Budha gains strength in lagna

  • Budha is restrained but not harmed by the aspect of lagnesha Shani

  • Budha is oppressed in lagna by the 8th lord Surya.

Within the Navamsha, Ketu again disturbs the 5th house. L-5 Chandra, although auspiciously located in the 9th navamsha, is fallen.

Saptamsha

  • Rahu also dominatesby degree over Budha, Guru, and Kuja rising in D-7

  • Rashi L9 Budha is highly auspicious -- exalted and yuti Guru in lagna

Rahu dominates lagnesha Shani

  • Shani aspects Guru, Chandra

  • Shani is landlord for L-5 Shukra

  • Shani owns and aspects L-9 Budha

  • Shani owns and aspects the house of Surya, dispositor Guru/Chandra

  • Shani has his own natural power as lagnesha (vitality of the physical body)

Rahu Dominates Mangala

  • Kuja drishti to L-5 Shukra

  • Kuja drishti to 5th house

  • Kuja rises with L9 Budha and karaka-Guru and Rahu in saptamsha

These two children have been a major challenge to raise. Rahu and Kuja went to great lengths to achieve their goals but Shani applied some heavy karma too.

  • Harsh aspects to putra bhava (child-1) while the lord of 7 (child-2) occupies the 8th house = these kids had behavior problems.

  • However their mom is a woman of strong faith.

She emphasized conservative religious values in their upbringing, and they know the rules even if they don't always follow them.

  • The child are both now grown and this young mother has matured into a great grandmother!
