ln. 106 |
"When the 9thor the 5th Rashi from the Moon is either occupiedor aspected by a malefic planet
and when the Drekamsha of the 8th bhava (i.e. the 22nd from the rising Drekamsha) happens to be what is termed
Sarpa [serpent], Nigada [fetters]or Pasa [noose] ....the astrologer may predict suicide by hanging."

~~ Jataka Parijata, Ch. 2, ln. 81 |
Rahu causes great fear to men by means of epilepsy, smallpox, halter, flies, worms, ghosts, fiends and goblins,
and also by leading to suicides by hanging,
and because of diseases resulting in want of appetite and leprosy. |

|
"When inauspicious planets occupy the 4th
and the 10th bhavas or Trikona positions,
and when the

~~ Saravali, Ch 47,
shloka 22 |
The 22nd decanate from the ascendant will denote the nature of one's
death.
For example, by the nature of its lord, (i.e. the humor, place
etc.) |

Suicide is a powerful karmic action which
harms the abandoned friends and family of the native while it also plunges
the native into a frightening after-death world. Due to the mental unhappiness
at the time of the suicide, the native is rarely possessed of the calm and
systematic preparation which is required to negotiate the peeling of the
veils which reveals the valley of death.
What are the character markers of a personality which
takes its own life?
One marker would be emotional detachment, and most
likely atheism - inability to conceptualize the Divine (Surya).
Another would be badakha
influence upon Chandra

Salient Features
of the Nativity: |
-
Naga-ruled
Azlesa is associated with strangling,
binding, twisting, and choking.
-
Ketu is associated (even in glyph) with
pasa, the noose.
-
Lagnesha
Chandra-Revatiin 9 = the native's lifelong interest in
both secular and religious philosophy. He was a philosophy major in college.
-
Shukra + Chandra = significant artistic talent. The native was a highly skilled
craftsman who built boats (Chandra) and musical instruments (Shukra) using
the finest materials and the most exquisite designs (Shukra).
-
uchchamsha Shukra= Kharesha = lord
of the
22nd decanate
-
Vrischika upon the 10th navamsha : His primary
professional endeavor =
renovating private homes (Shukra, L4) in an wealthy area of his home
state. Vrischika = destruction and rebirth, rejuvenation and renovation.
-
According to friends, he did "what he wanted, when he wanted" (Chandra +
Shukra) . Typical for this "spoiled" combination, he spent his considerable wealth
(uchcha Shukra/9) largely upon himself (Chandra).
-
L-4 uchcha Shukra in 9 produced wealth from real estate. Before his
untimely death, the native had acquired several exceptionally valuable homes and
investment
properties (4), in addition to a professional tool garage (4) full of expensive
landscaping and construction vehicles (4). He paid cash for everything,
eschewing bank loans and their paper trail. Due to L-2
Surya in bhava-8 ,
he liked to keep his
wealth hidden.
-
However, typical of frugal Azlesa, this
independently wealthy man felt
compelled to "do more with less". Co-workers attest that he used and re-used and re-used certain items. His elbows poked out
of threadbare work shirts; he darned his inexpensive socks rather than
replace them; his work boots were (according to his wife) re-soled dozens
of times, until the boots literally fell apart. His primary personal
vehicle, a single diesel truck, was kept running with a many-times-rebuilt
engine, for over 35 years.
-
He did not like children (Mangala-Rahu-Shani
in 5) often complaining about the unpleasant smell of babies, the
irresponsible lifestyle of "breeders" and the threat of
world collapse from global over-population.
-
Yet lagnesha Chandra + Shukra in 9 (global
travel) caused a great philosophical interest in futuristic
sustainability movements designed to protect the Earth's resources for
future generations.
-
Shani + Mangala
in bhava-5 = typically
an energetic worker, especially when amplified by Rahu as in this
kundali.
Born into wealth, the native was 'spoiled' by
his parents due to
Shukra+Chandra
. Yet he was not lazy in the least. Due to social and financial
privilege, he worked only when he chose and upon projects which he
chose. His work on house renovations in a high-priced housing market
was performed on a cash basis only; thus he paid much less income tax
than others in his earnings level = wealth-treasuries L-2
Surya in bhava-8 (8
= pooled monies, lotteries, taxes).
-
L-2 Surya for savings wealth in 8 the
house of things hidden. His wealth was substantial but effectively hidden. In childhood the native inherited considerable
monies from a historic estate (L-2 money in 8 inheritance). In
addition to having all of his housing, schooling, and vehicle
expenses paid by family money (2) including an exclusive
humanistic education (lagnesha Chandra/9 + L-4 schooling uchcha
Shukra wealth) the native also masked (Rahu) his income (L-11
Shukra drishti of Rahu) so that he avoided most types of
government taxation.
-
Sadly, at the time of his death, he
suffered paranoid delusions that he was under
surveillance by government tax agents and that all of his
carefully disguised (Rahu) financial holdings were going to be
captured by government police. Friends and family attest that this
delusion had no basis in fact; yet Kumbha-8 indeed signifies death
conditions imposed by the government.
-
Surya tends to incinerate the matters of
the house in which He resides. Taxes were burned up and Guru flourished in 2.
Surya-Kumbha is often called immoral because willful Suraja is too
ego-centric in Kumbha the rashi of distribution within a Group.
The social group suffers when Suraja occupies Kumbha. In this case
the native especially resented what he perceived as social
control.
-
The native rationalized his selfishness
via a "Libertarian" philosophy of self-reliance. He especially
opposed any tax-funded social programs designed to help children
(L-8 Shani in 5). Despite having been protected from the normal
sources of debt (education, property purchase, vehicles, medical
treatment) by his family capital and shrewd (ultimately illegal -
Surya Kumbha 8) tax avoidance, the native believed that his
wealth was fully self-made and should be fully self disposed.
-
According to friends, during Chandra
Mahadasha
, the native became commercially involved in profitable
transactions regarding organic, hallucinogenic drugs (L-6 Guru in
2, wealth) associated with the shamanic (8) religions of native
peoples. His money hoard (L-2 in 8) increased from this
illegal trade (L-6 in 2) and he was confident (Surya, but a very
weak position for the Great Light) of his legal rights to pursue
the drug trade under a Libertarian (Surya-Kumbha) philosophy of
enlightened self-interest and religious privilege (Chandra).
-
However the drugs in question are
explicitly illegal in the native's homeland, and when Ketu bhukti
began, the native entered into doubt (Ketu).
-
Due to hostile drishti from Rahu, Mangala,
and Shani, it soon became a crippling
doubt and which ended in
complete surrender (Ketu).
At the beginning of Chandra-Ketu, the native started to manifest paranoid
behaviors and talked frequently about the need to protect his earnings
(Ketu, 11) from the government.Note that Ketu receives the highly
unfavorable drishti of "catastrophic change and deathly shock" L-7+L-8
Shani and but also the drishti of YogakarakaL-5+L-10 Mangala. Shani =
L-11+L-12 from Chandra and Mangala = L-2+L-9 from Chandra; neither overtly
harmful angles.
By the end of Ketu period he had succumbed to paranoid delusions that his
hidden wealth, so craftily hidden for decades, invested in properties and
kept in bank cashboxes, was about to be seized by his old terror, the
nameless faceless forces of "government". "Everything I've worked for," he
moaned - "the lifestyle I've built, my assets, my properties - will all be
seized!"
-
At least one adviser recognized his
symptoms as suggesting a rampant paranoid depression. -
In a massive, panicked depression, after running from
his illusory attackers for days, he finally
took his life by noose (Ketu). The letters he left for family and friends say that suicide was
his "only way out".
What happened? Ketu gave insanity + the effect of L-4 Shukra = Kharesha. (He
died at home.)
