Death 13: Suicide of Mother: Young adult Daughter this page under development please check back... This brilliant young woman was studying for her graduate degree at the time of her mother's death by suicide. Although severely  traumatized, the daughter later became a gifted and influential healer. Effect of Mahadasha-Pati, SHukra [Venus] Shukra the mahadasha pati was receiving the maraka effect of gochara Shani at the time of mother's death.  Furthermore Shukra is with the Moon, karaka for Mother, in Karka, sign of Mother. Effect of Bhukti-Pat, RAHU Death of mother occurred in 1975, during this daughter's Venus/Rahu/Venus period.   Rahu is always a natural "maraka" or killer.  When occupying yuvati bhava, a death house, Rahu becomes a temporal maraka as well.  So in this young woman's chart Rahu has double maraka power. Gochara Rahu was passing through dhana bhava (the other death house) at time of mother's passing. Dwadashamsha While Venus was mahadasha pati, all transits to Venus became extra powerful.  Gochara Shani had entered Karka.   Karka is Shukra's sign in both rashi and Dvadashamsha, AND  the D-12 lagna -- signaling possible death to a parent. Note Shani is a double (both natural and temporal) maraka within the D-12 because he rules yuvati bhava within D-12. The likely parent is mother because Venus is yuti with Moon in rashi, and Moon is lord of Karka. We can see the mixed nature of the mother through the D-12.  The mother was on one hand gifted, insightful, dramatic, and a natural healer - all evinced through Moon auspiciously positioned in D-12's dharma bhava. However the other and strong aspect of mother is seen through D-12's bandhu bhava.  Here we see the complex oppression of exalted Shani, reactive Rahu, and a weak Guru.  Guru as Moon's lord is much oppressed here.  In life, the mother's gifts were never well understood by her own conservative, risk-averse family; thus she was often repressed and  unhappy.
