Twenty-nine year Marriage - Child - Non-amicable
World famous American entrepreneur Martha Stewart built a vast business empire 1980's-2000's via her core instinct to "celebrate the lost art of housekeeping."
After a catastrophic legal battle 2002-2004, she was imprisoned for lying to investigators during her illegal stock trading trial.
Yet her public reputation never lost its luster. Many believed she was protecting her financial advisors, and perceived her sacrifice as an ethical act.
Her "Omnimedia" business expanded further after her release from prison on 4-Mar-2005, capitalizing on her iconic status as a resourceful & responsible home-based woman in American culture. She controls television, print media, product manufacturing, and a wide variety of other financial interests.

The very fact that the karaka for rationality, ethics, & fame -- navamsha L-7 Surya which represents Martha's role in the marriage -- is so amazingly strong in so many vargas, is a long-term negative for a woman in marriage. Her career exceeded her husband's; her ideas and plans dominated his. She is a business genius, and it's very hard to be married to a genius - of any type.
This is not a Kala-Sarpa nativity like Margaret Thatcher's in which the individual's life in chained to an ideology, an altruistic purpose, or a public role. Martha is not an ideologue; her "higher purpose" is simply developing her business, not running a country or leading a religion! This is simply a case of business responsibilities (Surya) consuming all of her energy, so that there is not enough psychic resource left to simultaneously develop the marriage. A classic situation for modern career women, and a sad one.

Yuti Budha, this Surya position gives her dynamic rational problem solving capabilities, a strong spiritual grounding, and a tremendous ego.
Although she has true charisma and performs many good actions for herself and others, Martha's Ravi position is so dominatingly strong that it will be (not always but often) tragically difficult for her to see her impact on other people.
Sometimes she is blinded by her own light!
Unfortunately, her response to public complaints by her aggrieved spouse -- that he was criticized and belittled by his successful, aggressive wife -- was simple denial. The blinding light of her ego was so extremely bright.
Astrological History of a marriage:
In 1961, Martha was a twenty-year old student at Barnard College. She married the young Yale law student Andy Stewart during the conventional marriage sequencers.
Shukra/Shani, where Venus is the marriage-karaka AND navamsha L-7 Saturn is the bhukti for marriage

Her only child was born in 1965 Shukra/Budha, where Budha is the child-giving 9th lord.
Martha enjoyed what she publicly called a satisfying marriage.
But note the major trouble-spot: radix L-7 Kuja yuti Ketu, in the 6th house of loss of agreements. Ari bhava gives animosity, disease, & debt.
Under these unfavorable-for-marriage circumstances, her husband moves out, claiming a serious personality clash (i.e., a Big Fight)

Kuja/Ketu period, where both Kuja and Ketu receive a huge power-boost from the transiting nodes
Period of Kuja/L-8 Shukra, which starts only a few months later, creates the real separation & breakup.
The public dissolution of marriage often occurs considerably after separation, depending on the nature of the individual's public life, custody of children, & financial holdings.
Compare to Prince Charles, whose public role and estate complexities also delayed his divorce until Rahu/Rahu.
Onset of Rahu/Rahu in Martha Stewart's case was an exceptionally traumatic period, containing:
Rahu/Rahu itself - Rahu occupying the 12th radix house & 12th navamsha, suggesting profound Loss of Identity. (Loss of spouse confirmed by Ketu yuti L-7 Kuja).
the Saturn opposition which occurs for everyone in the late forties, enforcing personality changes/accommodations to reality
Divorce occurring 29 years after her marriage, which is a Saturn return for the marriage itself!
Shani transiting atop her navamsha Sagittarius Sun, the navamsha L-7, signifying that her own powerful perfectionistic work-ethic agenda (rising swakshetra Shani) has destroyed the spouse (Sun, L-7 in navamsha).
Given the adversarial qualities of Martha's L-7 Kuja (the warrior planet) it might not be surprising that their divorce was public and bitter.
As a sign of how deep their animosity had become by the end of Kuja Mahadasha, her husband obtained a court order barring Martha from speaking to him or his family.
However, Rahu is yuti uccha Mangala in navamsha - Rahu will also give business success. In 1990, she started her own magazine, Martha Stewart Living. That same year, her husband filed for divorce on the same day that her book on weddings was released. Both publications were instantly successful.
Rahu gives general shock and chaos, but He also gives the results of his own lord, in this case Budha.
Truly, Rahu is positioned in the 12th house of dissolution & loss, and house-12 as 6th-from-7th is the natural house of animosity within marriage.
However, Rahu's dispositor Mercury is the all-good 9th lord who resides in the professional leadership and public accomplishment 10th house. Rahu's results will be different in the different areas of her life.
One of the implications of L-7 Kuja natively residing in Martha's 6th house is that the husband may well have sought healing in covert extramarital affairs. (Ari bhava is 12th-from-yuvati, the house of behind-the-curtain activities hidden from the marriage partner.)
In fact during Martha's Rahu/Guru period he promptly re-married - to Martha's former assistant, 21 years his junior, in 1993. As L-3/L-6, Guru gives power to enemies. L-6 Guru in house-8 makes those enemies party to her divorce.
Because Mercury is both 9th & 12th lord, Budha gives both L-9 results of good fortunes in publishing (along with good dharma in general) and L-12 results of dissolution and loss.
Prognosis:
Martha Stewart has not remarried since 1990.
A bhukti of Venus or Rahu/Ketu may naturally cause remarriage. Also bhukti of Shani or Surya, lords of her navamsha lagna, can trigger for a second marriage.
Guru/Shani 2010-2013 is her next eligible period.
The required coordinating transit of Rahu-Ketu occurs in Tula/Mesha, occurs only in the final two weeks of Guru/Shani, so this will be a close call if at all.
Subsequent eligible period is Guru/Shukra, which is a very strong marriage period 3/2016-8/2017.
Rahu/Guru period, where Guru is lord of the 2nd navamsha representing 2nd marriage of the spouse (8th-from-7th-navamsha), created the remarriage of her recently divorced spouse.
Public qualities of the second husband, if any, would be read from 2nd-from-lagna, which is Vrischika.
The relative Sun is strong in Karka/9 which shows a guru personality, with a strong moral position (sometimes this is simple self-righteousness; but with maturity it should season into bona fide wisdom.).
Venus occupies the relative 10th from this special lagna for 2nd husband (Vrischika), suggesting a career in literature, arts or theatre (including television producers).
The 2nd husband may have a troubled history regarding his children from a previous marriage, signified by Kuja/Ketu in the relative 5th.
Private qualities of a second marriage should be read from the 2/8 axis in navamsha. The private prognosis for marriage-2 would be intelligence, prosperity, business success, luxury foreign travel (nodes with exalted planets) and gracious quietude.

Perhaps not surprisingly given the "domestic" nature of her career and the empire she built upon that career, Guru & Chandra have leading planetary strength in Martha Stewart's nativity
Yogakaraka Shani is also strong.
Her forthcoming Vimshottari mahadasha of Guru will be very auspicious.
