Four Marriages before age 60

Rush Limbaugh is a conservative-reactionary radio talk show host.  We are not here interested in his reactionary politics (!) but rather in his remarkable, publicly recorded divorce history.

• Career-wise, Limbaugh has the classic yoga for a "false guru"- Surya-Dhanusha + Ketu - in the 10th navamsha.

Attitude toward Marriage

Meena = navamsha lagna = marriage is a dream, a private enclosure. By default, Meena = a happy lagna for the D-9. But like any lagna, Meena's implication of childlike sanctuary can be harmed by a difficult tenant or problematic lord. 

In this case, Shani is a difficult tenant. Shani enforces chronic (Shani) escapism (Meena)  related to exhaustion from a complex, dominating, mouthy personality (Shani = radix L-1/L-2.)

Marriage behavior is determined by radix lord of Meena, L-3/ L-12 Guru-Kumbha + Rahu in domain-2. Native is an ideologue, extreme and volatile in verbal expression. The native's behavior in marriage is loud and anti-social.

• Behari says of Guru/Kumbha/2, "Comfort in regard to money matters, but lack of affluence, nor a happy family life. There will be a tone of gravity and seriousness, but it will lack conviction in view of your poor financial position."

• Behari says of Rahu/Kumbha/2: "Rahu will be helpful in securing a good bank balance, but your relationship with others will not be harmonious. You will regard other people the way a predator regards its prey."
   

Physical space and aggressive behaviors

• Uchcha Mangala in lagna produces Ruchaka yoga = abundant dynamic masculine energy = "alpha male". The native is exceptionally self-focused and competitive. Excellent businessman who will dominate his economic sector. (Political communications industry.)

• Naturally when Mangala is located in the lagna = social personality, the native is self-focused (to the point of adolescent selfishness).

• Typically, a by-product of the powerful competitiveness = aggressive defense of the "personal space" and fighting with the partner.

•  With this intensity of  Kuja Dosha to kalatra bhava only the most mature individuals can successfully manage the intimacy of marriage

Divorce-3:

• Shukra/Rahu period. Rahu = effect of His lord Shani, L-2 divorce-maker.

Marriage and divorce events appear to be "on schedule" via Jyotisha timing.

What pattern overall might cause a series of relatively brief marriages and no children?

• Yuvati bhava, the radix 7th house, contains the model for not only the first marriage but all subsequent marriages as well.  Subsequent marriages will certainly vary in their public & private details, but the overall relationship dynamic is in fact established in the radix 1-7 axis.

  • House-7 receives drishti of L-4, L-5, L-10, and L-11 - a very good arrangement of drishti! 

  • House-7 receives drishti of Shukra the karaka for love and marriage - also beneficial.

  • But... house-7 receives drishti of the uber-powerful uchcha Kuja, creating a very significant Kuja dosha.

• L-6 Budha is unfortunately quite strong in shad-bala.

  L-6 = a planet to watch in marriage matters because Ari Bhava = 12th-from-7th and its influence produces dissolution of contractual agreements.

  • L-6/L-9 Budha [preaching] + L-8 Surya [self-destruction] =  his bully pulpit which emphasizes discontent, dissolution of agreements, and conflict. Healing those angry broadcasts would result in healing the marriage-divorce too.

•  Navamsha 1-7 is not overtly harmful, and in fact benefits slightly from romantic Shukra rising (although in  inauspicious Mesha)

  • However Shukra is responsible for drug problems, and Shukra rising in both charts especially in context of the extremely competitive uchcha Kuja, can be too indulgent with the drugs

• The big issue is L-7, the Moon, in a "dead" zone of zero degrees of a female sign.  Normally there are compensations for a trouble L-7 in radix: a deeper motive and expectation arises from the lord of L-7's navamsha.  But, in Limbaugh's case, L-7 and the lord of L-7's navamsha are the same planet: the dead Moon.  The implication is profound emotional issues with the mother (perhaps rejection: note Chandra is also oppressed by a harsh drishti from Shani) and also issues with the physical body.  The dead degree of Moon may be the source of obesity issues, which are a compensation for profound emotional pain.

• Chandra's lord Guru is very expansive, due to yuti with Rahu.  Note Limbaugh's marriage #2 and #3 during Rahu bhuktis - attempts perhaps to gain the emotional identity which Moon should provide, by bring yet another female into his intimate life.  But, unfortunately, both Guru and Rahu are controlled by judgmental, vindictive Shani - and so round the cycle goes.  

• L-8 Surya in house-12 indicates dissolution of healing effects of psychotherapy - in other words, therapy is ineffective, or denied.

• Except for being a maraka L-7, Soma is a pretty good planet.  He occupies swakshetra in navamsha, and He receives dristhi from the lagnesha.  Limbaugh might benefit from wearing a Jyotisha-setting of natural pearl, as a pendant at the heart chakra.

Prognosis:

There will probably be a 4th marriage.  The Moon will keep trying with every Rahu bhukti or gochara Rahu-Ketu "return" to key marriage lagna in D-1 and D-9.

• 4th wife represented by house-4 is athletic, competitive, and gifted in business.  Lord of house-4 is the uchcha Kuja, and house-4 receives the strongest 4th drishti from uchcha Kuja as well. Very extreme Kuja Dosha.

• This is a professional marriage, possibly of convenience. It may be brief. 

• However, Limbaugh's navamsha swakshetra Moon does occupy the 4th navamsha. This is an auspicious indicator of subconscious expectation that emotional nurturing & maternal qualities of the 4th spouse will be pronounced.  

• Therefore, the prognosis for 4th marriage is not all that bad.  It may be psycho-emotionally satisfying but difficult to sustain in the material world, perhaps due to career demands.  

• That being said, I have seen "Mangalik" marriages survive and prosper when the two parties grant each other the physical space as well as the psychic space to live somewhat independently. 

  • The key to these arrangements is always "square footage" = the amount of physical space each party can occupy, unmolested by the partner, except via explicit permission.  If this simple (but expensive) rule is applied, perhaps involving two homes, the prognosis for longevity of an otherwise too- competitive marriage may be quite good.

Marriage-4:

• reported on 05-June-2010: 59 y.o. Limbaugh marries 33 y.o. Kathryn Rogers.

• Shukra/Guru period; Guru  = L-1 navamsha

• gochara Rahu-Ketu  crossing Dhanusha- Mithuna = the navamsha natal nodes (= second iteration of marriage-2)
