Gemstone Case Study = Thula-12

Thula Lagna + Meena Chandra
Using the nativity of the great WWII General and later President of France, Charles de Gaulle

Gem Recommendation Thula lagna Meena Chandra

Atmakaraka and Karakamsha

  • Atmakaraka = significator of the soul = Shukra in occult domain-8 = L-4 (education) L-11 (communities)

  • Karkamsha = rashi of the atmakaraka's navamsha = the activity for which one is best known = Domain-11 Vrishabha = value systems, distributive knowledge networks, scientific principles, electricity

Arudha lagna

  • Arudha lagna = domain-8 Kumbha = occult science

  • lord of Arudha lagna = Shani-Kumbha = electricity, conceptual science, social philosophies

Lagna and Lagnesha

  • Karkata-lagna

  • Lagnesha = Mesha Chandra in 10, governance and leadership roles

parivartamsha

  • none

  • the classic nodal trine (from Rahu or Ketu) usually found in the nativities of spiritual figures, is present in D-1

Kemadruma Yoga

= no graha in the bhava 2nd-from or 12th-from Chandra, and Guru does not occupy 1,4, 7, or 10 from Chandra.

Kemadruma yoga is relentless poverty maker which deprives the native of property ownership .

  • Commonly found in saints or social activists who have surrendered their aspirations to ownership (see Mother Teresa Of Kolkata, Shri Aurobindo).Yet also found in highly frustrated nativities of those who would prefer the comfort of middle-class life.

    • Cayce was bothered his entire life by his inability to own property or even save pennies for a rainy day. He died leaving a vast estate of spiritual and psychic knowledge, but he was personally penniless and his family had to scramble to survive.

    • Additional financial insufficiency suggested by Ketu in dhana bhava, where Ketu's lord Surya moves the hoard of stored values (dhana) into the realm of religious action (9) with rather little material acquisition left for the family (2)

Surya

Vrischika Ravi = lord of labha bhava, in Vrischika rashi; in 9th-from-Chandra; receiving Parashari drishti of Rahu.

Naturally, the lord of the house of gains will bring gains during His Vimshottari period. However, unless the L-11 is also the ruler of another, more auspicious house (and Surya rules only one house, so this is not possible) it is not beneficial to strengthen L-11 with a gem.

Surya-ratna = Manika = Ruby

Ruby = Ravi-ratna = is recommended ONLY during the mahadasha of Surya.

  • Gemstone Exceptions: (wear Ruby during mahadasha of Surya only)

    • Surya does not occupy the 6th, 8th, or 12th position in regard to any graha.

    • Therefore the flawless Ruby may be worn throughout the mahadasha of Surya, to reduce some of the oppression against financial gains and professional networking during that time.

Chandra

Meena-Chandra

= L-10, occupying domain-6 Meena; in Uttarabhadrapada Nakshatra. Chandra accepts no Parashari drishti. The L-10 does not warrant strengthening, except perhaps in the major periods of the Moon.

Due to Lord Guru in the neechcha bhanga state, and in Kendra as lord of 10th-from-Soma, Lord Chandra = very fortunate for a career in one of the ministries which attends to human conflicts.

[Factors including L-10 of navamsha = Mesha; Chandra's lord = Guru + Mangala; L-10 from Chandra = Guru + Mangala; Mangala = lord of Surya -- all work together to produce an extremely strong military career.]

Chandra-ratna = Moti = Pearl

Chandra-ratna = moti Or Vedic pearl = recommended ONLY during the mahadasha of Chandra

  • Gemstone Exceptions: (wear Pearl during mahadasha of Chandra only)

    • Chandra occupies the 6/8 angle-from-Shani. Therefore the flawless Pearl may be worn throughout the mahadasha of Soma, to increase the leadership capabilities (already strong) and improve relations with medical and military workers (6).

    • However, it is advised to remove the Moti during Chandra-Shani bhukti. Except for Chandra-Shani and Shani-Chandra periods, all other time-periods of Chandra should flow smoothly.

Mangala

Makara Mangala =

  • Ruchaka yoga = uchcha L-2 and L-7 for Thula lagna
and L-2/L-9 from Meena Chandra. L-2/L-7 yuti L-3/L-6 Guru = virtually guarantees a lifelong relationship with violent conflict.

  • Kuja = a tremendous Maraka which places the native in almost constant contact with scenes of death. You will have a number of "close calls" while you fight to defend the land of your birth (Mangala in 4, the homeland defense). Mangala resides in the gainful 11th-from-Chandra; accepts Parashari drishti of Rahu.

  • For the Thula lagna -Meena Chandra combination, Mangala acquires additional Maraka qualities as the "double L-2" both from lagna and from Chandra.

Mangala-ratna = Moonga = Red coral

Mangala is an exceptionally powerful graha which is not a weak benefic and therefore strengthening with a remedial gemstone is not advised.

  • Gemstone Exceptions: (none, gem not used)

    • Mangala does not occupy the 6th, 8th, or 12th position in regard to any graha. Sub-periods of uchcha Mangala will move smoothly during all of the mahadasha periods EXCEPT Budha mahadasha..

    • Graha in the 3rd-from-Budha can cause mental health disturbance, by either over-stimulating (Rajas) or under-activating (Tamas) the mental narrative. Mangala will tend to over-stimulate the competitive and killing instincts; Guru tend to over-expand via over-confidence and increasing the scope of actions at the wrong time. Therefore it is advised to be self-aware and self-correcting during the Budha-Mangala and Budha-Guru periods.

Budha

Vrischika-Budha = lord of domain 9 and 12; also L-4 and L-7 from Meena with Surya, accepting Parashari drishti of Rahu.

  • As the lord of dharma bhava, Budha is naturally suited to preaching and philosophy.

  • In Vrischika-2, the professing is upon military philosophy and also the philosophy of transformation and death. of In domain-2 = extraordinary yoga of 4/7- Budha + 11-Surya + 1/8-Shukra + Ketu, All of them in trine to Chandra .

Budha-ratna = Panna = Emerald

The Budha-strengthening emerAld = recommended On merit of Budha = L-9.

  • Gemstone Exceptions: (none)

    • Budha does not occupy the 6th, 8th, or 12th position in regard to any graha.

    • Sub-periods of Budha will move smoothly during all of the mahadasha periods.

    • The Budha ratna may be worn throughout life to improve spiritual awareness by bringing the native into contact with philosophical teachings.

Guru

Dhanusha-Guru

= the miserable neechcha lord of 3 and 6; however from Meena Chandra, Guru is lagnesha and L-10.

Although the Pukhraj (yellow sapphire) is not advised, Guru may give excellent results during His periods because Guru is in kendra-4 with uchcha Kuja, thus neechcha bhanga brings out the best in the worlds of strategic and tactical planning (3) and military style conflict management (6).

Neechcha bhanga graha = exceptionally strong and protective. No gem is warranted however.

Guru-ratna = Pukh-raj = Yellow Sapphire

  • Gemstone Exceptions: (none, gem not used)

    • Guru does not occupy the 6th, 8th, or 12th position in regard to any graha.

    • Sub-periods of Guru will move smoothly during all of the mahadasha periods.

Shukra

Vrischika-Shukra = auspicious lagnesha and lord of randhra bhava; L-3 and L-8 from Chandra.

  • For the Thula-Meena combination, Shukra becomes the notorious "double-L8" who causes much upheaval and frequently exposes the native to the conditions of death. This native will be prescient of death .

  • In domain-2 Shukra participates in an extraordinary yoga of 4/7- Budha + 11-Surya + 1/8-Shukra + Ketu, all of them in trine to Chandra. Shukra receiving Parashari drishti of Mangala.

Shukra-ratna = Hira = diamond

While it is nearly always a good idea to strengthen the lagnesha, a diamond should be worn with caution, understanding that catastrophic and often violent change may occur in the life environment of the native and that a Diamond, while supporting the vitality as the L-1 ratna, also encourages sudden, forced changes.

Shukra-ratna, white sapphire (diamond) is recommended .

  • Gemstone Exceptions: (none)

    • Shukra does not occupy the 6th, 8th, or 12th position in regard to any graha.

    • Sub-periods of Shukra will move smoothly during all of the mahadasha periods.

Shani

Simha-Shani =

  • = yogakaraka lord of bandhu and putra bhava;

  • in domain-11 Simha, a hostile sign.

  • L-11 and L-12 from Chandra; located 6th-from-Chandra.

  • Shani accepts incoming drishti of uchcha Mangala.

  • The native is exceptionally well positioned to attain one's goals (11), perhaps at great personal cost, but nevertheless a fundamentally egalitarian strength of social progress vision stabilizes this nativity and promises success.

Shani-ratna = Neelam = Blue Sapphire

It is recommended to wear the Blue Sapphire for Shani.

  • Gemstone Exceptions:

    • Shani occupies the 6th from Chandra, and Shani occupies the 8th-from Mangala and 8th-from-Guru.

    • Sub-periods of Shani-Mangala and Shani-Guru will be highly problematic.

    • During the Shani mahadasha, remove the Shani-ratna for sub-periods of Chandra, Mangala, and Guru.

    • All other sub-periods of Shani will move smoothly during all other mahadasha periods.

RAHU

Vrishabha-Rahu = an extremely important graha in this nativity. In domain-8; Ahi's lord = lagnesha Shukra.

  • Rahu receives incoming drishti from neechcha bhanga L-3/L-6 Guru, L-1/L-8 Shukra, L-9/L-12 Budha, L-11 Surya, and L-4/L-5 Shani. Graha sending drishti INTO Rahu include the lords of 1, 3, 4, 5, 6, 8, 9, 11, and 12 -- 75% of the total power of the nativity - engages the intensively passionate and desirous, taboo-breaking and catastrophically impulsive Rahu.

  • In addition, Rahu SENDS OUT drishti to six graha: uchcha Mangala, Neechcha Bhanga Guru, Budha, lagnesha Shukra, Surya, and Ketu.

  • In fact, the only Graha which neither sends nor receives drishti vis-a-vis Rahu is the L-10 Chandra; and that is a blessing which protects this native's regulated, steadied, well-founded and non-disrupted path of professional career.

  • Rahu's excessive influence on the nativity creates an extraordinary life situation, and one that must be handled with exceptionally high levels of consciousness. Rahu is clearly the agent of massive transformation and upheaval in the native's life. Rahu is exalted in Vrishabha and as such He is at maximum entitlement; Rahu may be a force for either great good or great evil. Only history will tell.

  • The native hungers for secrecy and intrigue.

  • Whether the taste for hidden power and attraction toward deadly force (8) will be in the end the sign of a great agent for good in times of terrible catastrophe, will not be known until the real truth about the forces behind the second world war are fully exposed.

  • Surely Rahu will be extremely active in the life of this native, and the lives of the many thousands whose lives he may directly affect.

Rahu-ratna = Gomedha = Hessonite quartz or Orange Zircon

It could be self-destructive to the native to wear the Gomedha, but the huge social forces involve suggest that one understands a need for self-sacrifice.

By facing the conditions of death on a huge scale almost as a matter of daily business, one will in a psychic sense be continuously destroyed and rebuilt by the specter of death;

Rahu-ratna can increase the consciousness of the huge process of death-and-rebirth, calling attention away from personal concerns to something much larger. It is a rare situation but Rahu in this nativity becomes potentially a very spiritual graha.

Ultimately the Gomedha, by indirectly strengthening the "vitalizer" L-1 Shukra, will have a protective effect. It should be worn separately from any other stones , ideally as a pendant if other stones are worn as finger-rings.

  • Gomedha is recommended for additional fortitude during catastrophic upheaval and change.

    • Gemstone Exceptions: (none)

      • Rahu does not occupy the 6th, 8th, or 12th position in regard to any graha. Sub-periods of Rahu will move smoothly during all of the mahadasha periods.

KETU

Vrischika-Ketu = in radix domain-2, 9th-from-Chandra, lord = Mangala.

Vaidurya is normally not recommended for those who intend to be active in the world. It is more useful toward the end of life or at times of spiritual retreat. The present nativity is extremely active in the world, full of raja yoga and ready to fight.

Ketu-ratna = Vaidurya = Cats eye, chrysoberyl

Vaidurya , the cat' s eye chrysoberyl for Ketu, is not recommended.

  • Gemstone Exceptions: (none, gem not used)

    • Ketu does not occupy the 6th, 8th, or 12th position in regard to any graha.

    • Sub-periods of Ketu will move smoothly during all of the mahadasha periods.
