Independent behavior vis-a-vis the father, and father's response may be imperious, "my way or the highway". Both the son and the father have strong and confident ego structure, they cannot live together for very long in the same house.

Father is arrogant, sure he knows best. Nevertheless there is filial respect and the father's reputation remains good unless Surya is badly fallen or some harsh drishti from Shani.

If Surya-9 for male native, one may continue a multi-generational lineage of dominating, overbearing, self-righteous fathering-style which might go back into the centuries. Often a lineage of priests, or professors, or preachers.

Surya-9 can provide a challenge regarding matters of the father, priests, professors, or guru and their ability to separate their ego concerns from the business of cultivating true spiritual love.
