combustion get Astangata evil?
Ans:
Moudhya Dosha of haraplanets
(Mars, Mercury, Jupiter, Venus and Saturn)
when they are in certain
positions in proximity to the Sun, causes evil,
technically known as Astangata.
Mercury and Sun occupying two different Rasis
though in the same house do not cause much harm.
Saravali calls Moudhya planets as
Vikala planets.
"A person having Vikala planets will be
driven out of his country and home.
He will be unclean, will be
living in foreign countries, molested by enemies.
He will have his
wealth taken away by enemies."

It is true that the above evils may occur if
Moudhya planets are weak. -
If they are strong, evils will be minimised.
-
Instead, he will experience some good by his contact with the
Sun.
Here the Sun must be strong, rule
Ishta houses
and occupy good places.
Nipuna Yoga, for example, is caused by Budha
Moudhya.

Saturn has moudhya as do the other
planets. -
When he is within fifteen degrees forward or
backward of the Sun, he has Moudhya. -
But in determining longevity,
Saturn's combustion is ignored, and no Ashtangata harana(reduction) is made on this account."

this condition can give an

of home and housekeeping, care of children or elderly
parents, and roots within a culture or place on Earth. the native is characteristically self-concerned and somewhat
self-referential in emotional bonding behaviors. Being
somewhat insecure in one's own emotional basis, the native may need extra reinforcement to ensure the
strength of emotional bonds. to derive security via
public praise (Surya) for parenting, caretaking, land
stewardship, protection of the weak, patriotic acts
(Chandra).

this condition can give an
autistic effect in
regard to the impact of one's personal outgoing actions,
including violent actions, upon others.
If Kuja is an unfavorable influence e.g. for Kanya lagna, then
moudhya Kuja can create a positive outcome by
reducing the capabilities of a negative agent.
With no malice aforethought, the native is simply not
aware of the psychic and physical harm that one's own
competitive or aggressive actions may cause. The
victim may feel (or literally become) "invisible".

convicted in the automobile crash and drowning death of

unconcerned with impact of this violent event upon the
woman and her family, and indeed upon his overall
career.

Combust graha lose their strength;
they have less and less power as they get closer and closer
to Ravi. Lord Budha rules Logic. He suffers less and less
power as He becomes more and more solipsistic because Surya
the Ego controls Budha's reasoning.
This is a very common situation and
should not be over-weighted. However in general the effect =
a self-reflexive
mentality.

the native simply does not notice the thoughts or
ideas of others. Often one appropriates the intellectual
property of others due to a sincere but self-focused logic.
One's interior argument says that these new ideas
are entirely one's own.

Were one to look outside oneself,
into the broader culture, one would likely discover that

behavior regarding the mainstream customary practices, laws, and conventions of a people.

of the institution,
corporation, or greater social structure. The laws of one's society
may be "invisible" or one may significantly fail to grasp
the conventional social practices of the time.

Mrs. Gore
famously announced her campaign against the moral threat to

close to the burning rays of Surya, and the graha occupies the same rashi with
Surya, that too-close graha becomes combust = dagdha = moudhya =
ashtangata).Combust planets lose much of their
positive power and give only superficial benefits.

radical lagna (1st house of body) and
Ashtamsha Rashi
(8th house of conditions of death = emergencies and
secrets).

Shukra
+
Surya in Mithunawould normally make a person physically attractive, with lovely balanced
features and a pleasing complexion.
-
combust Shukra will give only a
superficially balanced appearance. The person may have some obvious
disproportion in the physical form. He will lack the sparkling, deep
vitality of real health (1st house) while he remains largely ignorant of magical
secrets and healing
knowledge (8th house).
In practice, severely combust interior
planets = Chandra, Budha, and Shukra = sitting within 2 or 3 degrees of Ravi= clearly
have cancellation of strength for the affairs of their own bhava.
All seven of the hara graha
when moudhya can reduceexpected results in their
dasha/bhukti period. Usually the trouble is not serious, but
merely a weakening of the most positive potential.

For example, a
combust L-2+L-5 Guru for the Vrischika native may, during Brihaspati's period, reduce a very promising forecast
for expanded wealth and creativity by limiting the support coming from one's
birth family (2) and children (5).

Foundational support from the very houses
which should expand, is less than necessary for full expression of
potential. Thus a potentially 'great' time-period becomes simply a good
one.
combustion is only one factor in
evaluating a planetary ruler.
dristhi upon a planet from
other benefic or malefic planets remains
extremely important.
A minor degree
of combustion = one of those planetary maladies that can be corrected by
remedial mantra chanting, consciously offer Seva, or by a carefully inspected and properly energized
gemstone.
