Amsha -
Graha
|
Karako
Bhavo Nashto
"the
significator destroys the house"
Too
Much of a Good Thing
|
"Table of Houses" from Das Goravani, JS.3 |
If the
karakatwa-graha of a major life experience
should occupy
the karakatwa-bhava which also signifies that major life experience,
Typically the normal
patterns of the occupied house are quite overwhelmed by intense,
dominating personality of the spouse, relative, or other agent whom is signified by the
karaka planet.
By means of the excessive demands of the spouse, relative,
or other agent of the bhava, the native experiences "too much spouse","too
much guru", or "too much
father" etc.
Despite potentially good external appearances,
matters of the bhava are internally overblown or overextended, and the
relationship becomes difficult to enjoy due to the extraordinary
overconfidence or over-assertiveness of the
karakatwa.
-
Caveat:
one single factor
like karako bhavo nashto does not a reading make.
-
drishti upon the bhava, and navamsha position of the karaka, are critically important also.
-
Favorable drishti can alleviate most
symptoms of karako bhavo nashto.

|
"While
destruction (nashto) suggests that the beings indicated are somehow
rendered null and void, in practice, such placements suggest that the
significations are in some way blemished.
-
Jupiter
occupying the fifth bhava, for example, "blemishes" one's
children (the individual may not have any, or may be troubled through or
by them).
-
The
Sun in
ninth "blemishes" father,
-
Mars in
third, younger siblings,
-
Jupiter in
11th, elder siblings.
-
...Venus...
damages marriage, regardless of what it may imply about the partner's
position, wealth, or attributes. Even when the spouse remains
"unblemished" (remains strong, healthy, athletic, rich) the
marriage may not work (it may "die"). ...
...Karako
bhavo nashto can be applied to the navamsha lagna as well. Venus
in the navamsha lagna often creates a kind of equivalent to Venus in the
birth chart's seventh bhava, with the important exception that a Venus
[which] occupies its own rashi is in a good position for marriage."

Father - bhava-9 |
karaka graha = Surya
and Guru |
Swakshetra Surya in 9 = karako
bhavo nashto in terms of an arrogant, Authoritarian,
or self-important father. By contrast, fallen Ravi in
Thula/ 9 also gives a blemish, but this is a father who dislikes
himself and overdoes some form of sensual enjoyment to assuage his
self-contempt. In both cases there is "too much
father". In swakshetra, there is public dignity despite
his arrogance. In neechcha, there is embarrassment over the father
or disgrace. Uchcha Surya in 9 might make the father a
tremendous military general or some kind of hero, but their role in the
child's life is excessively ego-focused.Such a child wishes to
emulate their father however and will normally adopt the father's trade. |
|
Religion - bhava-9 |
karaka graha = Guru |
Uchcha/swakshetra Guru in dharma
bhava = "too much priesthood" which manifests as
ritualism.
the native becomes excessively identified
with their ritual training and the powers this training confers upon them.
Over-valuation or idolatry of spiritual guru and sacred lineage. Can be "church-proud" and
patronizing toward those who hold other beliefs. Also Guru = karaka for expansion. In
bhava-9, a strong Guru can indicate boasting or overconfidence. Such a
person may believe that they possess knowledge or abilities which they don't
in fact have or can't legitimate. |
|
Spouse/partner - bhava-7: |
karaka graha=
Shukra |
Similarly Shukra in 7 = "too much
sugar"; marriage overwhelmed by
excessive sensuality. Sex-and-party marriages seen here; quickly
exhausted by the "sugar-rush" and unhappily striving for new
sensations.
Must buy more, experience more, flaunt more, indulge more. The
wife or husband may be too beautiful, too sensual, or too
much gifted in the arts of relationship. Supposedly
Shukra will give Malavya Yogawhen uchcha/swakshetra in 7, but if
there are unfavorable aspects, the dominance of sensual elements in
marriage can erode the deeper values of marriage. Vrishabha:
marriage suffers from excessive focus on wealth, pleasure, and
luxury.
-
The
spouse is materialistic and the marriage devolves into sensual
overload. Often great wealth, particularly when Shukra's angle to
Guru is favorable. However the marriage partner (for a male) and the
marriage itself, from a social perspective, is not amenable to finer
feelings or even a high degree of literacy because of the animal
materialism of Vrishabha Shukra at His absolute peak.
Thula:
marriage suffers from too much concern with perfecting the social and
material environment.
-
Only
perfect people allowed. Great attention to quality of association.
Focus on the interior and exterior design of the home, prestige of
clothing and furnishings, and making a balanced presentation in all
things.
-
The problem with the focus on staying in perfect balance is
that a natural cycle of growth and change is prevented; the couple
are "in it for show", and one if not both partners must eventually
seek acceptance of their flaws and irregularities from an outside
source.

Children, financial speculation, romance =- bhava-5
Examples:
-
Elizabeth I
, queen of England (b. 1533)
= political brilliance and much romantic energy,
yet childless
.
Guru-Dhanushya-5
in 6th from Chandra.
- Mary Baker
Eddy founder of Christian Science
Healing. Mrs. Eddy's literary gifts are legendary; yet her only
child, a son, was taken from her early in life during a family
dispute. Guru-Mesha-5 yuti neechcha Shani in 5.
|
Guru in
bhava-5 "too much
expansion " = a great deal of romance, or huge literary and artistic production,
or massive political activity = overwhelms the natural re-productive instincts. Typically there are few or no birth children
when Guru occupies putra bhava. However there are exceptions
created via other graha in 5. For example if Guru yuti lagnesha in 5 or
Guru yuti Chandra in 5 = at least one child. But Guru + Surya - unless
Surya is also lagnesha = likely no offspring. Guru has the most effective
child-blocker powers when Brihaspati occupies 5th from Chandra . Often a wonderfully gifted, childless
teacher, but this position is not so ideal for a parent.
Guru in bhava-5
really only succeeds when the native can "turn off" the
expansive attitude at the end of the day.
In parenting, Guru/5 tends to
pump continuous permissive-expansive energy into the children, and the children don't
get the non-activity "downtime" or even the sleep they need. By contrast, the fertile
drishti of Guru
upon bhava-5 is very beneficial for both parent and child. |
Loss and sorrow - Shani in
bhava-12
karaka graha = Shani
Examples:
|
"too much
deprivation"= a
stunning weight of
identity-loss and perhaps abuse by punitive authority
figures in an isolated (Shani-12) setting.
May overwhelm the natural human capacity to move with nature
and accept cycles
of dissolution. The native may get stuck in bitter regret and have
difficulty moving forward(Shani freeze) . In favorable rashi such
as uchcha or swakshetra, may suggest long, sustained campaigns of
social-justice effort (Shani) in distant lands that in involve many
setbacks and resistance from government agents. Shani
can resist the gentle movement of neutral acceptance, replacing it with
fearful rigidity and depression.
Post-traumatic
shock disorder may be seen from structurally overwhelming loss of identity
(12) during Shani periods, with radix Shani in 12. |
Work/public
approval/profession - 10
Examples: Surya-10
Budha-10
Shani-10
- USA Pres-37 Richard
Nixon. Famously resented the "white shoe" privileged monied
classes; expressed chronic insecurity and isolation even at the
height of power.
- USA Sen/ Sec. of State
Hillary Clinton
; altho well-qualified, long and bitter climb to highest authority roles
- Mrs. Carla Bruni
Sarkozy
Guru-10
|
Surya-10 gets dik bala
in any rashi. While enjoying professional authority, one is also often
perceived as an overwhelming ego force in the executive role.
Martha
Stewart ;
George
H. W. Bush-41
Swakshetra Surya
in bhava-10 = too much confidenceBehari says, "You are able to attain a high social status, but your actions are self-centered and autocratic. Society is unhappy with you and you are not much respected."
Swakshetra Budha in bhava-10 =
too much information = bhadra
yoga= the panch mahapurusha yogafor Budha
=
intellectual greatness.
Neutral chatty Budha = not harmful to career in
quite the same way as the
highly self-determined hot-bright swakshetra Surya can be, yet the native
may be annoying to others and receive less favorable promotions as a
result.
Swakshetra Shani in bhava-10 =
too much class-conscious Potentially bitter about
the diligent effort required to climb the ladder of success. May resent
the perceived social advantages of those from more privileged
backgrounds, and feel isolated by their commoner status.
Swakshetra Guru in bhava-10 =
too much
philosophy the least difficult but
nevertheless "too much" placement = religio-philosophical Brihaspati in
karma bhava, which substitutes expansive preaching when constrictive
lawful governance is required. One is seen as likeable but
not a good governor. The hard-working
karmasthana wants
pragmatic, sober, orderly, rule-bound adherence to structured principles. Broad-ranging discussions of philosophical possibility are perceived as blustery and off-point.
