Health 12:
Seizures at Birth, Brain development challenges

This beautiful young child was born in a modern hospital.
However, the infant suffered seizures at birth.
Although the seizures have calmed, this child faces developmental challenges in childhood.
His parents have dedicated themselves to obtaining the best therapies to ensure their child's well-being. His loving father inquired regarding the Jyotisha perspective on the child's prognosis for a healthy childhood.
Here is a brief overview of their son's Jyotisha charts, addressed to the deeply concerned parents:
Mangala:
Lagnesha Mangala disadvantageously located in the dusthana 12th rashi as source of seizures (epilepsy) and later developmental struggles.
Bepin Behari says of Mangala in 2nd padaa of Revati:
"You are of the type that will get irritated and will irritate others. Fits, epilepsy, brain disorder. You are either prone to be cheated or will be a fraud."
Combination of your son's Mangala in vyaya bhava along with his Rahu occupying 3rd house of mental tasking/communication patterns will amplify Guru's houses, giving even more life-controlling-power to the 12th house. We can disregard the moral complaints because we are looking at the chart of a pure-hearted child. But physically we acknowledge a predisposition to brain troubles due to influence of Kuja and Rahu.
Current period = Shukra/Kuja = 1/2004-3/2005. This must be a very challenging period because Kuja is the source of the brain disruption.
Mangala's is also the powerful, exalted lord of navamsha 2nd/7th occupying your son's 4th navamsha. Regarding this position, in Myths and Symbols of Vedic Astrology, Bepin Behari says:
"despite of considerable material success...you hold yourself aloof from others and maintain an isolated emotional existence.."
Kuja is also 8th lord of the rashi chart. Randhra bhava can definitely be a house of healing. Of course, randhra sthana has a bad reputation in Jyotisha as a house of sudden uprisings, catastrophe, earthquake fire and flood, etc. But for those of us blessed with a modicum of consciousness, sudden upheavals are the keynote of the healing process and we welcome the conscious movement of embedded traumatic patterns upward toward the surface of awareness.
The 8th house (and the other moksha houses too) for conscious folks becomes a house of therapy. Mangala represents surgeries and the 12th house is healing sanctuary, especially hospitals.
This child's Mars is exalted in navamsha, suggesting that well-educated medical professionals will apply intensive therapeutic methods in a hospital setting. Although this health condition is rooted very deep in the brain, their diligence and solid education (4th house) augur a reasonable expectation of successful improvement during Mars bhukti.
If I were the parent of this child, I would do exactly as you are doing: meditate to achieve as much peace in my own mind as possible, then diligently provide this child with the best quality clinical services your family can access.
The condition of the lagnesha in a chart very powerfully influences the person's physical body and their experience of being judged regarding their appearance and behavior by the larger society. Your son's health condition will position him socially. Your child has chosen this condition for his own spiritual purposes. Our job as the adults who support him is to maintain a clear mind and an open heart, so that we may guide him as compassionately and skillfully as possible.
The condition seems deeply embedded and will probably always affect his social identity. So the more you as a parent can relax and accept his spiritual choices at a deep meditation level, the better you and your spouse will be able to make the best therapeutic choices at the rational, economic, medical levels.
But you already knew all that!
Shukra:
Each of the subsequent bhukti's within your son's mahadasha of Shukra will provide their own characteristic challenges, because each of the remaining bhukti planets within his mahadasha of Shukra has some connection to either Kuja or Rahu.
As you know Shukra who is lord of both 2nd and 7th houses, is a major makara planet. Surely it will bring peace to you as a loving parent to appreciate every day and month of his young life, in case the makara power of Shukra becomes strong enough to allow his delicate spirit to lift away from its bondage to the annamayakosha.
Your son will always be a bit fair-skinned and attractive due to Thula-Shukra rising in navamsha. People will naturally like him and want to do their best to help him because he has a certain natural charm. A strong rising Shukra is always a social advantage! He will attract a lovely but unusual wife, due to rising Rahu/Ketu with Venus in navamsha.
Shani:
Shukra is especially strong during the bhukti of his dispositor Shani [10/2001-12/2013] because Shani in addition to all his usual troublesome characteristics also occupies the 2nd [maraka] house while Shani enjoys a strengthening parivartan with Shukra. Plus, Shani is dispositor of Mars in navamsha - extra power indeed.
One effect of Shani in 2nd padaa of Rohini is "Eye and throat trouble or nose bleeding, acute constipation leading to abdominal surgery and baldness." So as a parent you will want to be spiritually prepared for some significant challenges during Shani bhukti!
Surya:
Near the end of his 15th year, your son will shift into the more auspicious Surya mahadasha. Surya has rajayoga in his rashi chart as auspicious 5th-lord occupying the distinguished 10th-house of public respect. Surya yuti Budha in karmaa-bhava gives ability in mathematics.
Your son will perform well in high school and university, no doubt choosing to study business mathematics, computer science, and very likely medicine -- due to Ravi's position in Simha in the 11th navamsha, which favors excellent earnings and high professional performance in specialties of life sciences.
Chandra:
Perhaps the best feature of your son's rashi chart is his Moon/Ketu receiving drishti of Guru in 9th house. This wonderful yoga shows a deep, loving, optimistic and mystical relationship with both parents (because Moon is mother while 9th house is father)
