Parashara says:

[They] will have medium stature & plump body.  The forehead will be broad, neck thick & stout, eyes bright, hair dark, complexion clear.

They will be solidly built with big shoulders & muscles well developed.  The natives of this lagna have great endurance & patience but when provoked they become angry & vicious like a bull. They are slow & steady, plodding & persevering, patient & persistent.

They are conservative.  They do not waste their energy.  They have a strong will.  They are not impulsive.  If there are bad influences on the lagna they become lazy & self-indulgent. They are fond of good food & are very much after money & other worldly possessions.

They are ambitious, cheerful & fond of enjoyment.  They are fortunate & are favorites of Goddess Lakshmi.  They are sexy but they are steadfast in their love.

They are fond of music, arts, cinema, drama, etc.  They like to hoard money & are cautious in spending.

Their married life is generally happy.

Das Says

Taurus in the Ascendant bestows a pleasing face, small thick neck, plump thighs, broad shoulders & a well-built muscular body. Amiable by temperament, artistic in nature, libidinous in character, you can be categorized as essentially materialistic.

Fond of luxury, favoring romance but tending to cultivate bad company. Self-respecting & happy, mostly in the middle & latter portions of life.

  • Saturn, though He owns the 9th & 10th, produces a Yoga which is hard to collect on. It's a Yoga, but a difficult one to fully realize depending on placement of Saturn in the chart.

Venus ruled periods should be good for money. Mars ruled periods produce financial prosperity; Jupiter periods are mixed.

You like to win, will have the tendency of gathering wealth right from youth, will have broad & strong forehead, nose, cheeks & lips, be industrious, fortunate, devoted to parents, liberal, will have many expenses, be very short tempered, be phlegmatic & windy in humor, be the father of (many) daughters, will insult your own people, be less religion, be interested in affairs for romance, fickle-minded, be fond of food & drinks & be endowed with various kinds of clothes & ornaments.

These are general tendencies caused by the ascendant sign, subject to great modification by the entire horoscope.

Shukra -Venus: How We Love

Physical appearance depends on condition of D1/D9 Shukra.

House 3 - Mental Process

Karka [Cancer]

Chandra -Moon: the Whole Mind

Mental health vacillates.  Mind is overactive. Depending on Chandra & occupying graha in house-3,  the thinking process may be brilliant or berserk, tyrannical or tame. Derives emotional satisfaction & a sense of belonging from the act of talking; enters into debates and planning sessions with emotional motive.  Often has a need to prove something through competitive argument, but Kuja must be strong to win in logical debate.

House 4 - Home, family, security

Simha [Leo]

Surya  -Sun: the Soul-Self

Identified with home& family, although he is not much available at home. Depending on Surya's condition, tends to use the home as a base for political or ethical action, as a theatrical setting for development of Self.  If Surya supports it, can be an excellent teacher, particularly regarding issues of individual morality.

House 5

children, creativity, authority, speculation, politics, theatre

Kanya [Virgo]

Budha -Mercury: Mental Tasking

Dynamic self-expression finds a wellspring of energy for intellectualization.  Natural critic & scholar.  If Budha is strong, extraordinary intelligence leads to successful publication of his ideas.

Loves children, and identifies deeply with them.  Acts more like a child than a parent unless Shani is strong.  Inspired by their fresh perspective on old questions, enchanted by their creativity.

House 6

Thula [Libra]

Shukra -Venus: How We Love

Health can be compromised by indulgence. Loves socializing around food, alcohol, and in beautiful company.  Always seeking a balanced resolution to conflict.  Can enter where angels fear to tread, believing that he has the solution.

Depending on condition of Shukra, will tend to be well-liked and respected for his sincerity if not for having workable solutions.

They get into trouble during periods of the 6th lord just like everyone else, but their natural desire to provide everyone with access to beauty and truth is their "get out of jail free" card.  Unless Shukra is fallen, will avoid serious conflict most of the time.

House 7

Vrischika [Scorpio]

Kuja -Mars: Kinetic Energy

Marriage is sexual & competitive. Powerful sensuality. Unless Kuja is dignified, conflict emerges in the marriage.  A tendency to marry the competitor, a professional equal, rather than seek traditional public-private compatibility.  Wants excitement in the marital scene.

Contracts, agreements, legal discussions, all types of advising are vigorously, actively pursued.  Divorce is common, unless Kuja is tamed.  Likes to argue.

Spouse is productive, ambitious, vigorous, insightful, & likes to win.  Intimacy is easy to achieve.

House 8

Joint assets of marriage, secret matters, in-laws, therapeutics, healing, taboos, taxes, tantra

Dhanus [Sagittarius]

Guru -Jupiter: Wisdom Expansion

Joint assets of marriage are generously shared.  Spouse contributes wealth, well & cheerfully, unless Guru is damaged. l

Spouse hails from a religious, optimistic, successful family of equal or higher social standing than the native. Spouse has a liberal, distributive outlook.

Deep healing is easy to access.  All forms of therapeutic touch and talk are available; Guru will show the level of permission to access healing modalities.

Wealth from hidden sources.

House 9

Makara [Capricorn]

Shani -Saturn: Karmic Cleanup

The inspiration & consolation of Religion is not easily accessible.  Native tends toward a positivistic, materialistic worldview. Sees religious authority & priestly ritual with a skeptical, common-sense eye.

Although deprived of access to & respect for ancient spiritual traditions, the native can when Shani is exceptionally strong with nodal influence, set himself up as his own priest.  Typically he seeks authority to transmit an structural materialistic viewpoint as a cure for religious excess.

House 10

prestige, public regard

Kumbha [Aquarius]

Shani -Saturn: Karmic Cleanu

Hard working and respectful of the hierarchy in his chosen profession.  Will follow the rules laid down by his predecessors for gaining the social credentials necessary to access high prestige.  Then, works hard, and consistently, to achieve his social goals.

Although graha in and drishti to house-10 make a critical difference in determining the outcome of career, Vrishabha lagna is advantageous.  If the native also benefits from a Shani drishti to karma bhava, he will be admirably steady in his work, and praised for his disciplined determination.

House 11

Meena [Pisces]

Guru- Jupiter: Wisdom Expansion

Guru confers a natural advantage for earnings and mobility in the marketplace.  The elder sibling is generally helpful, and mentors appear along the path to help the native expand his circle of associations.  If Brihaspati is auspiciously placed, income is generous and many pleasant, optimistic friends support the native's life endeavors.

House 12

Mesha [Aries]

Kuja -Mars: Kinetic Energy

The meditation& inner sanctuary house is disrupted by Kuja's vigorous physical energy.  Unless Kuja is dignified, sitting meditation may be out of the question.  However, energized discussions on cosmic matters and many forms of hunting, including hunting of spirits and insights, are favored under Vrishabha lagna.

Beneficial for active work in sanctuary spaces such as think-tanks, hospitals, ashrams, private elite conferences, other activities shrouded from public view.  Also suggests propensity toward extramarital engagement, but as always this depends on Kuja's role and any graha inhabiting or sending drishti to house-12, as well as Kuja's disposition in D-9.
