V. Simha.
This word contains a world of occult meaning
within itself; and it may not be prudent on my part to
disclose the whole of its meaning now. It will be sufficient
for the present purpose to give a general indication of its
significance.
Two of its synonymous terms are Panchasyam
and Hari, and its number in the order of the Zodiacal
divisions (being the fifth sign) points clearly to the former
synonym.
This synonym--Panchasyam -- shows that the
sign is intended to represent the five Brahmas -- viz.,
Isanam, Aghoram, Tatpurusham, Vamadevam, and Sadyojatam: --
the five Buddhas.
The second synonym shows it to be Narayana,
the Jivatma or Pratyagatma.
The Sukarahasy Upanishad will show that the
ancient Aryan philosophers looked upon Narayana as the Jivatma.*
The Vaishnavites may not admit it. But as an Advaiti, I look
upon Jivatma as identical with Paramatma in its real essence
when stripped of its illusory attributes created by Agnanam or
Avidya--ignorance.
( * In its lowest or most material state, as
the life-principle which animates the material bodies of the
animal and vegetable worlds, &c. --Ed. Theos.)
The Jivatma is correctly placed in the fifth
sign counting from Mesham, as the fifth sign is the
putrasthanam or the son's house according to the rules of
Hindu Astrology.
The sign in question represents Jivatma -- the
son of Paramatma as it were. (I may also add that it
represents the real Christ, the anointed pure spirit, though
many Christians may frown at this interpretation.)*
I will only add here that unless the nature of
this sign is fully comprehended it will be impossible to
understand the real order of the next three signs and their
full significance.
The elements or entities that have merely a
potential existence in this sign become distinct separate
entities in the next three signs.
Their union into a single entity leads to the
destruction of the phenomenal universe, and the recognition of
the pure Spirit and their separation has the contrary
effect.
It leads to material earth-bound existence and
brings into view the picture gallery of Avidya (Ignorance) or
Maya (Illusion).
If the real orthography of the name by which
the sign in question is indicated is properly understood, it
will readily be seen that the next three signs are not what
they ought to be.
( * Nevertheless it is a true one. The
Jiv-atma in the Microcosm (man) is the same spiritual
essence which animates the Macrocosm (universe), the
differentiation, or specific difference between the two
Jivatmas presenting itself but in the two states or
conditions of the same and one Force. Hence, "this son
of Paramatma" is an eternal correlation of the
Father-Cause. Purusha manifesting himself as Brahma of the
"golden egg" and becoming Viradja--the universe.
We are "all born of Aditi from the water" (Hymns
of the Maruts, X. 63, 2), and "Being was born from
not-being" (Rig-Veda, Mandala I, Sukta 166).--Ed. Theos.)

Parashara says:
|
...Simha
lagna has well developed bones & a broad forehead. He is of
moderate stature, well built & muscular.
His appearance is dignified, imposing & commanding.
Persons born with this lagna are generally noble, large
hearted, magnanimous & generous.
They are helpful to mankind.
They have
great faith in friends & relatives.
They become head of the organization with which they are
connected. If they are in
government or any commercial organization, they attain high positions
there.
They do not talk much. They
are fond of authority & are brilliant and ambitious.
They are firm in their thinking & attitudes.
When they are angry they roar like lions.
They are
spendthrifts. They
have capacity to face adverse circumstances.
They want to maintain their authority in their household.
Very often their
married life is not happy.
They enjoy sound health if there are no bad influences on the
lagna or Ravi, the lord of this lagna.

Das / Behari:
says:
|
".... bestows a regal appearance,
as if the life-force were vibrating from every part of your body. You have a broad face with strong bones, beautiful
& expressive eyes. You may be a possessive parent, egotistical
& selfish in temperament, & a braggart. You are excessively libidinous but not necessarily promiscuous.
You are not satisfied with the material heights you
attain & are always aspiring towards greater intellect, greater wealth, greater status,
& greater respectability. Often you think you have achieved more than you really have; nevertheless, you are never satisfied, for you think you deserve more than you have received.
You always strive to reach the top of the mountain.
You are basically materialistic but like to assume that you are spiritually highly evolved. Involvement in work is intense
& whole-hearted. You may be seen working adroitly on the subtle problems of life, whether related to physical sciences, psychology, or to concrete and technological problems in engineering, industry or economics. It is not the subject matter that is significant:
your complete involvement in whatever you undertake is of supreme importance to
you. In that pursuit, your engagement of effort is total.
There is a suddenness in your actions which gives your an element of surprise
& unpredictability. However involved you may seem in a pursuit or relationship, you can
suddenly end it. You are loyal friends, but that friendship can end suddenly. To some people you may seem ungrateful. The world exists only for your convenience
& the satisfaction of your desires.
In your social relationships, contradiction
& self-aggrandizement seem to predominate. You may find married life difficult.
Your spouse is very calculating & self-centered
- which are some of Leo's traits as well. Compatibility becomes difficult. In such circumstances, you often acts in a clandestine manner, concealing certain aspects of your life.
You do not trust others: equal partnership is not a common factor in your life.
... gives rise to wealth in mutual combination. The Sun is lord of the Ascendant, Mercury lord of wealth and Mars is of course Yoga karaka. Thus all the three planets have acquired some power or other to do good. It will be seen that the
Sun, Mercury and Mars play an important role in case of persons born in Leo
Ascendant, while other planets will be able to do some good under certain special conditions.
.... fond of eating meat & enjoying worldly enjoyments, will earn wealth
& honor through the government, bereft of religion, dutiful in family affairs, hold a high rank of office, be
majestic, strong, bold, speak sparingly, a miser, will trouble others, will wander in hills and forests, be irascible, firm in friendship, careless, inaccessible (or inviolable), will destroy his enemies, have famous sons, honor the virtuous, rich through agriculture etc., interested in business
& will spend heavily on prostitutes & dancers. Spouse will suffer dental diseases.

|
Lagnesha
Surya -Sun:
the Soul-Self rules
a natural house of great
friend Kuja
Domain-1 signifies personal
competition for social
validation through a winning combination of physical
behaviors and traits.
The Simha native seeks to develop
the physical personality identity through association with royal
figures, politicians, persons of high
intelligence and creative
genius, games and entertainments, and high entitlements of
every kind.
The social personality has an
inherent affinity for bright, hot light; highest mountains;
speculative winnings, theatrical
performance, one's own children. The native is
particularly influenced by the presence of the Divine in human life.
This presence need not be articulated, but the Simha native is always
aware of the godlike nature of human beings. Simha
natives are generally bold and confident, dominating
and self-centered, regal and radiant.
Surya rules only one domain in the nativity, which gives Simha (and
Karkata) natives a singularly focused intensity of personality.
They strive to maintain a competitively confident personality
and regal physical appearance.
Physical appearance depends on
the
condition of D-1/D-9 Simha including rashi, bhava, companion grahas, drishti,
etc.
Generally, Simha-lagna shows a pitta
or slightly reddish cast to the complexion, a subtle golden
glow, relative to the gene pool. (at a more subtle astrally
based but physically perceptible level, Soma's rashi & characteristics also influence
the coloring.)
Psychically, Simha lagna projects an aura
of intense confidence and dynamic life
force. Unless Surya is damaged, Hari-lagna have a
bright and riveting physical countenance which magnetically
attracts attention.
Many celebrities & performance artists, models, dancers, &
others who make their living with & through the glamorous
appearance of their physical bodies
have Simha rising along with Ravi well disposed.
Simha: Rulership via Divine Right
Simha natives can project a distinctive
leadership personality aura which emanates from one's sensed entitlement
via Divine
Right.
If Simha lagna = Magha
lagna, the native becomes a law unto oneself,
ruling by divine fiat. (Dick Cheney,
Napoleon
Bonaparte, Henry Ford.)
The domain occupied by lagnesha Surya will
predict the style and location of adult manifestation of Simha's
creative, domineering life force. "You do what you gotta
do."
-
Richard
Nixon lagnesha Surya/Dhanau in domain-5 = confidence and
speculation
-
Steve

-
Paramahamsa
Yogananda - lagnesha Surya/Dhanau in domain-5 = confidence
and speculation (cf.
Nixon; the big difference is Chandra)
Marriage:
In order to carry out the mandate of a
Shani-ruled yuvati bhava, Simha lagna must marry an elder,
experienced, practical and socially well-networked spouse (Kumbha
traits).
N. Bonaparte - Josephine = 8 years his elder, famous social
networker in Paris (Josephine knew "everyone", 1795
R. Nixon
- Pat Nixon = a year older than her husband, intrepid fundraiser
and networker, notably conservative in beliefs and personal
conduct
GHW Bush-41
- Barbara Bush = not chronologically his elder but her
conservative traits, social networking skills, and remarkable
elderly appearance mark Mrs. Bush as a suitable spouse for the
politically ambitious Simha
lagna male
S. Jobs'
second, long-term marriage to a younger spouse is more famous than
his first, uncertified, marriage-via-childbirth. The
mother of his first child who by Jyotisha standards
constitutes his first spouse was neither elder nor conservative in
character (indeed she is a progressive artist); Surya occupies 7
(selfishness in marriage). The first Shani-ruled union did not
succeed. Simha's second marriage is ruled by Budha, a karaka
for youth.
If the Shani-ruled spouse of the Simha native is not elder, more
conservative,
or exceptionally well-networked - the marriage will not succeed.

Budha's governance is not impeded in the natural

Social, moral, & financial
values are very detailed & organized, depending of course on the
natal condition of Budha.
They value family life and
children, but find they need to be super-organized and
compartmentalized in order to accomplish their other driving value,
which is success in their professional work.
For Simha lagna, presuming that
Budha is fairly well disposed, periods of
L-2/L-11 Budha generate considerable wealth via
family-of-origin hoarded assets and knowledge-values, as well as
earned income from the marketplace of goods and services.
They like to talk, and are usually
quite effective in their speech. If Budha is well-disposed, they are
articulate people with a cheerful even adolescent style of
talking.
See Steve Jobs with radix Budha in
Makara/6, indicating the development of values focused into corporate
business.

Good socializers who easily find a

plans and schedules. Enjoys the flow of daily business. Favors teamwork, social event organizing, building
a favorable sibling-type group of business associates who work
cooperatively due to balanced mental and communicative interactions. Quality
of the neighborly & sibling-type interactions depends on
character of Shukra in the nativity.

Conditions in domain-4, the home

has a touch of ambitious aggression & competition, & matters
of cultural indoctrination toward deepening "roots" are never completely
settled.
Simha lagna may be a frequent house-mover in search of better
opportunities for self-expression in politics, performance arts, and
literary pursuits.

Guru -Jupiter:

Guru's governance is not impeded in the natural

Generally fortunate in matters of
children unless some occupying graha disturbs Guru's abundance. (Surya
in 5 is a blocker, saying "I am the Child".) Expansively
creative. High entitlement for celebrity, recognition, authorship.
Wonderful teacher and coach, but not interested in other viewpoints -
must follow one's own creative instincts without interruption, or
regal Simha lagna generally will leave the scene.
Great genius in literature,
product development, & performance art is possible, depending on
auspicious placement of Surya & Vrihaspati. Maximized effect when
Guru casts drishti from domains 9, 11, or lagna or if Guru yuti
magnifying nodes. Location of Guru will show the manifestation of
creative powers.
See Steve Jobs for a primary
manifestation of highly creative product development with Guru in
domain-11 for marketplace earnings.

around food & medicine.
General good favor from government
due to the calming & regulatory effects of Shani, unless a benefic
occupies domain-6.
Necessarily there is much duty &
responsibility for maintaining correct practices especially in areas
of medicine & finance. Periods of Shani or any graha occupying a
rashi of Shani may bring karmic accountability, forcing reduction of
the regal instinct in order to stay on the right side of the
law.

~~ Bhrigu Sutram Ch.
2
4 Shloka 11
As Parashara
confirms, for Simha and Karkata lagna, the reality is
that marriage pleasure is dominated by a deep Saturnian sense of duty. Personal
intimacy is not destroyed, but the native will prioritize the marriage
tasks which contribute to social respect and stability.
Simha lagna is all about "Heart". The
Simha native radiates Courage, Valor, and leonine strength. Yet
Kumbha, lagna for the spouse, is "Heart-less".
Spouses look respectable in public but emotional vitality in the
marriage may be limited by a heavy workload. Depends
as always on the condition of Shani. The spouse will generally
look older and more dried-out or pale than the native.
A famous example of the Kumbha-ruled spouse is
Barbara Bush, the wife of U.S. Pres. 41 George H. W. Bush
('Sr.'). Mrs. Bush possessed dignity
without charm. By demeanor and complexion, she looked to be
about 20 years older than her husband, whereas chronologically Mrs.
Bush and her husband were the same age.
Her public image was socially
proper but she lacked tangible compassion. Her "heartless"
comments during the devastation of Hurricane Katrina, a tragedy which
ruined the lives of thousands of very poor people in Louisiana and
Texas, became well-known. Mrs. Bush appeared to fulfill her duties
adequately but it was obvious to the public that on a personal level,
she had no heart for the people. Apparently she did not care about
anyone outside of her family. Perhaps, even, not anyone outside of
herself.
Even uchcha Shani in domain-3, the
best possible setup for this difficult marriage (see Bush
41) gives the spouse, and the native through auspice of the
spouse's behavior, high
position, accountability, and dignity. There is rarely much
interpersonal pleasure, except the pleasure of enjoying a solid public
reputation.
Contracts, agreements, legal discussions, all
types of advising are somewhat difficult & tedious unless Shani is
exceptionally strong. After
their typically rather long resistance to commitment followed by a
later marriage, divorce
is uncommon (unless Shani is damaged) because the native takes a very
dry and legalistic attitude toward marriage, seeing marriage as
primarily an expedient requirement of career.
Despite their tolerance
for meetings & party talk, these folks dislike adversarial
conflict, & they will compromise in order to avoid legal
disputes. They like rational conceptualization, not
emotional arguments.
Spouse can be made into a workhorse, piled up
with duties & schedules, treated as a fixture in public life,
emotionally ignored while the native attracts all the attention unto
oneself. Simha lagna is sometimes a glutton for attention and
applause, esp if Rahu is in lagna (Bush
41).
Intimacy problems. Does better with an
older or more conservative spouse whose self-image is also invested in
public role-playing.
Best to have conservative values & low
emotional expectations in
marriage. Good results from marriage to an older, more duty-focused
and life-experienced spouse.
Chandra in Kumbha may bring (slightly) more
emotional juice, although as L-12 Chandra is also problematic. Surya
in Kumbha is poorly disposed, leading to spousal disregard for moral
principle and the native, while invested in the marriage, is socially
or politically embarrassed.

Meena
[Pisces] = House
8 - secrets, hidden assets,
confidential information, sudden and catastrophic change
Guru- Jupiter:
Wisdom Expansion
|
Guru's governance is not impeded in the natural
house of friend
Mangala
Guru's abundance provides an opening into the
deep mysteries of life. If auspicious graha own or occupy domain-8,
the native may be profoundly involved in tantrik pursuits.
Sees one's
own destiny in cosmic terms, and accepts entitlement to "make
magic" in the world. Also entitled to maintain intimate
connections outside of marriage - not necessarily sexual, but
therapeutic.
Capacity to know & share secret knowledge
through a network of retreat centers & mystical
teachers.
Inauspicious graha controlling domain-8 can give
manipulative selfishness and misuse of confidential information for
destructive purposes.
The native's level of ethical development will
be indicated by Surya and Guru.
If Surya/Guru are favorable, one can
use this entitlement to tremendous material and psychic resources as a
tool for creating extraordinarily positive change in the world.
If Surya/Guru are not helpful, the native may
degenerate into unfocused childlike 'play' with his resources, wasting
the kingly opportunity of a blessed life.

Mesha
[Aries] = House
9 - temples of wisdom, priests and
professors, father and moral teachers, children and grandchildren
Kuja -Mars:
Kinetic Energy
|
Kuja's governance is not impeded in the natural
house of friend Guru.
Should Kuja be strong, the interest in religion
is lifelong & passionate. Yet according to the overall theme of
Simha lagna, religious fellowship & priestly practices must serve
the native's individual Soul interests.
Highly independent and athletic approach to philosophy and higher knowledge.
Depending as always on the disposition of Kuja,
relationship with Father and Guru is strained by the warrior nature of
this Simha child.
If Kuja is super-strong, the father's ego may be too
volatile to sustain his parenting role. The spiritual guru too must
accommodate the powerful individuality of this native.
Surya, Guru, and Kuja control the fortune houses
1-5-9. These hot, energized, forward-moving graha when well
coordinated can bring great fortune into the Simha lagna birth.

Tendency to place social & physical
aesthetics at the top of leadership concerns; great focus on art &
design, the beauty and attractiveness of the task. Public dignity
chained to the auspiciousness (or not) of Shukra.
General reputation for artistic sensitivity to
balanced design of products and social order, with a focus on social
harmony.
Surprisingly talented at building relationships
targeted to the top level of social governance (in contrast to limited
ability to develop emotional intimacy in marriage.) Shukra will show
the nature of iconic public roles, if any.

However, Budha is so easily influenced that Simha lagna's gainfulness
cannot be predicted without understanding Budha's role in the

source of gainfulness.
For Simha lagna, presuming that
Budha is fairly well disposed, periods of
L-2/L-11 Budha generate considerable wealth via

Chandra -Moon:
the Whole Mind
|
Chandra rules a natural house of Guru. Chandra's governance is not impeded in the
natural house of neutral
Guru.
Great need for emotional privacy.
Emotionally imaginative in their own sanctuary space, while generally
speaking the emotional life plays a minimal role in the public
personality. Emotional need for and appreciation of spiritual
sanctuary & religious retreat. Core
emotional life is effectively curtained off & kept away from
prying eyes of others, even including the spouse.
The
native may be introduced to meditative practices early in life, which
allow control of the emotions so that Surya's domineering rationality
can proceed unimpeded by the fluctuations of emotional life,
especially anxiety and self-doubt. Others may notice the Simha natives
emotional vulnerability but the native oneself suffers very little
self-doubt. Enemies of the
marriage, always indicated by the L-12 and graha within vyaya bhava,
tend to be females with maternal or nurturing powers. They have large
breasts, along with a soft and loving embrace.
The native promotes a fixed, controlled,
intelligent & socially positive package of public attributes which
however represent only one's rational side. The intuition may be
extremely strong if Chandra is auspicious; yet the native will not
normally be aware of Chandra's influence & certainly will not
share much of their emotional perception with others.
The influence of the Mother is
"lost" buried deep in the subconscious while the
influence of the Father's intelligence predominates unless
Surya is damaged.
There are numerous exceptions to this overall truth
but generally the mother's influence expresses through dreams &
the imagination while the father's influence is much more in the body
& social personality.
One's public personality expressed dominantly
through the physical body appearance; for Simha lagna it, should be
lean & darkly golden with very little influence from the soft,
plumping, watery-light Moon unless Chandra is yuti Surya or some other
parivartana effect.
See Madonna
for the above parivartamsha yoga
which brings a lighter than typical for Simha body complexion.
Lagnesha Surya/ Karka/ domain-12, for public expression of
private imagination, e.g., foreign ideas, & bedroom life.

Summary of Graha
Lordships for Simha Lagna
|
|
Surya
L-1
|
Surya = karaka for brilliance, genius, creativity,
success in performance arts, the rational soul, and awareness awareness
of the presence of the Divine in every moment of life. For the Simha
lagna native, Surya is an enormously positive graha with the potential
to bring great power and fame in politics
and theatre.
Presuming that Surya is
well-disposed, Surya periods bring praise for the physical appearance
and recognition of the social identity (fame).
Career
Because Surya
is a karaka for career and
public recognition, and Ravi = L-1 for Simha lagna, the Simha native is
somewhat disposed toward to accept public roles and professional
leadership responsibilities in connection with fleshly body vitality and
appearance (1) and iconic or symbolic representations (1) .
Example career
environments include all types of
radiant embodiment:
being the "face" of a product e.g. fashion model, being
the symbol of a political movement or idea, being a
godlike emperor, being a figure of charismatic authority.
The personal identity-appearance embodies
the product.

"For the Leo (Simha) Ascendant
Sun is lord of the Ascendant. Ruby is, therefore, a 'must' for natives

the Sun is not well placed, weak or in any way afflicted in the
chart.
Ruby will protect them from health
and enemies, give vitality to the body, long life, success in
administrative and other posts. It will also enhance the spiritual
power of the native."

Ascendant should avoid wearing a
Pearl.
The Pearl may, however, be worn in
the major period of Moon, if Moon is in the 12th in his own sign."

Kuja
L-4, L-9
|
Vital, fortunate, and competitive Kuja becomes L-4/L-9 yogakaraka for
Simha lagna. Kuja periods bring educational accomplishment. Gems for Kuja are
effective.
Badhaka-sthana
L-9 Kuja = the badhaka
lord for Simha lagna. (Badhaka or "harming"
houses = the 9th from a fixed lagna, 7th from a changeable lagna, and
11th from a cardinal lagna.) Kuja periods may bring some competitive
struggles with professors, religious teachers, and father-figures.Domain-9 from Simha lagna = Mesha = the primary
"Badhaka"
or harm-causing domain. Fixed lagna typically has some trouble
from the father, guru, professor, religious or moral teacher,
temple, religious teachings etc. If Shani occupies Mesha, one may
face considerable trouble when dealing with the father.
Periods of Mangala may bring forward an
agent in the figure of a father, father-role, guru, priest,
professor, or some abstract personage known through
wisdom-teachings, who (often inadvertently) causes harm to the
native via domineering or intimidating behavior, intolerance for
alternative viewpoints, and a regal sense of personal
entitlement.
This badhaka agent must be handled with
compassion, in the knowledge that this harm-causing agent is
merely a projection of one's own unrealized conflict with
religious teachings, higher philosophies, priestly orders, and
with self-proclaimed teachers of truth.
Difficult graha in occupation of dharma bhava or
Mangala drishti upon domain-9 may exacerbate the badhaka agency.
Remedial and
Supportive Gems for Kuja:- Moonga
for Simha Lagna
"For the Leo Ascendant also
Mars being lord of the 4th quadrant and 9th house—a trine is very
favourable and auspicious planet (yoga karaka) and wearing of Red
Coral will be followed by the same beneficial results as in the case
of Cancer Ascendant.
Apart from these results, the
native will acquire, lands and property, will have good fortune, will
become virtuous and longevity of his father will be improved.
If the Mars is posited in his own
sign in the 4th or 9th the beneficial results will become more
pronounced. Wearing of a Ruby
— the
gem stone of the lord of this Ascendant -- along with Red Coral will
accelerate the beneficial results."

Budha
L-2, L-11
|
There are four main wealth houses: 2 = banked
savings; 5 = gambling or speculative wins; 9 = assets acquired
through faith; and 11 = earned income.
Conversational and sexual Budha becomes a highly
auspicious L-2 / L-11 wealth graha
for Simha lagna. The sources of the wealth may be found in the bhava and rashi of
Budha. E.g.,
-
Paramahamsa
Yogananda's material wealth arose primarily from sales of his
extraordinary books = Budha + lagnesha Surya in 5 for creative literature; Budha in
Dhanusha for humanistic religion.
-
George H. W. Bush-41's material wealth arose primarily from
the his government positions and ownership of
natural resources (oil + gas, also
cattle + land) = Budha + lagnesha Surya in 10 for government
positions; Budha in
Rishabha for natural resources.
For Simha lagna, presuming that
Budha is fairly well disposed, periods of L-2/L-11
Budha generate considerable wealth via family-of-origin hoarded
assets and knowledge-values, as well as earned income from the
marketplace of goods and services. Budha's materialistic behavior may increase
wealth, solicit death, strengthen a second marriage, increase aptitude
for languages, improve relations with the family of origin, intensify
the articulatory powers of speech and song, and improve the capacity to
store and acquire virtually any type of items of value, from food to
furniture to art collections to currency money.
In Budha's role as L-11, He articulates and
describes the relationships between the members of the marketplace
network for the exchange of goods, ideas, and services. Budha can be a
major fundraiser and facilitator of setting and achieving goals.
An excellent graha for the financial
professional.
Remedial and
Supportive Gems for Budha - Panna
(pure Emerald) for Simha Lagna
"For. the Leo Ascendant, Mercury
is the lord of the 2nd (house of wealth) and 11th (house of gains and fulfillment
of ambitions).
If the native wears an Emerald in the
major period of Mercury and his sub-periods, he will get harmony in
his family, substantial financial gains, name and fame. The results
will be more pronounced if Mercury be in his own sign in the 2nd or in
the 11th."

Guru
L-5, L-8
|
Wise and expansive Guru gives mixed results. Guru
is good for children and for expanding one's access to hidden and
confidential information. Simha lagna inclines the native toward
political interest and quest for political recognition; therefore Guru
can be a great help in knowing the secret information about controlling
powers, their resources, and other campaign details which only
'insiders' know. It is important for Mangala to be well disposed in
order for randhra bhava to provide good results rather than simply
expand the cult of secrecy..
Remedial and
Supportive Gems for Guru: Yellow Sapphire (pukharaja) for
Simha Lagna
"For the Leo Ascendant Jupiter
will be lord of the 5th and 8th houses. Being lord of 5th house, a
trine, Jupiter is considered as an auspicious planet for this
Ascendant. Consequently it will be beneficial for the native of this
Ascendant to wear a yellow sapphire,
particularly in the major and sub-period of Jupiter.
It will prove
more useful if it is worn with a Ruby,
the gem stone of the lord of Ascendant. ."

Shukra
L-3 + L-10
|
Sweet & sensual Shukra benefits
administrative careers. Native is well-liked in the office, by siblings,
and by the public. Excellent for customer service & media
professions.
Best to avoid Shukra-ratna
diamonds, although the risk of
disruption is low.
Remedial and
Supportive Gems for Shukra: Flawless Diamond
(hira) for Simha Lagna
"For the Leo Ascendant, Venus is
lord of the 3rd and the 10th houses. Here again Venus is not
considered an inauspicious planet for this Ascendant.
[special conditions]
But if, as lord of the 10th, Venus is
posited in the 6th, 8th or 12th (where he will be exalted)
Diamond will help to offset the setbacks in profession etc.
If Venus is in his own sign in the
10th, it give rise to two yogas, namely Amala and Maidlavya (one of the
Panchamahapurusha yogas).
The effects of these yogas have been described
as under:
(1) Amala yoga: This yoga is caused when the 10th from the
Moon or Lagna is occupied by a benefic (natural) planet. As a result of
Amala yoga the person will achieve lasting fame and reputation. His
character will be spotless and he will lead a prosperous life.
(2)
Malavya yoga is caused if Venus should occupy a quadrant which should be
his own or exaltation sign. As a result, the person will have a well
developed physique, will be strong minded, wealthy, happy with children
and wife, endowed with clean sense organs and renowned and learned.
The
good effects of these yogas will get an impetus if a Diamond is worn
during the major periods and sub-periods of Venus. "

Shani
L-6 + L-7
|
Pragmatic & conventional Shani makes trouble for
Simha marriage (see Parashara at top of this page). For peaceful
marriage, avoid Shani
ratna (blue topaz,
blue sapphire, lapis lazuli, amethyst).
L-7 Shani and Surya, lord of Simha, are bitter
enemies. However, each has their own "turf" and so long as
they retain clear boundaries, there need be no severe conflicts in life.
One of the rules for inner peace for a Simha native is that the
spouse should have several "senior" and work-focused qualities.
Ideally the first spouse will be elder in age and
senior-level in professional experience (also true of Karkata lagna).
The spouse is distinguished by diligent work and attention to detail,
savvy materialism, slow and steady personal style, and a pragmatic,
non-reactive approach to problem solving. However, should Shani be
ill-disposed, the first spouse might show the less attractive features
of age such as brittleness, crankiness or decrepitude.
For example, it is reasonable to speculate that
the nativity of the Prophet
Muhammad should feature either Karkata or Simha lagna with a
well-disposed Shani (also with uchcha Surya in the birth month of Rabi'
al-awwal) since his first marriage at his age 25 to the
40-year-old successful merchant widow Khadija is accounted to have been
quite happy.
Shani is an especially difficult graha for Simha
nativities in which Shani = L-6 from both radix lagna (material
animosity) and Chandra lagna (emotional imbalance): E.g., George H. W. Bush
- 41
-
Simha radix lagna + Simha Chandra
-
Simha radix lagna + Kanya Chandra
-
Simha Chandra + Kanya
lagna
Remedial and
Supportive Gems for Shani - Blue
Sapphire (neelam)
"For the Cancer and Leo Ascendants,
Saturn will respectively be the lord of the 7th house, and 8th house and the
6th and 7th houses. The 6th and 8th are very inauspicious houses and the 7th
is a death inflicting (maraka) house.
The lords of these Ascendants are also enemies
of Saturn. The natives of these two Ascendants should never wear a Blue
Sapphire. "

Rahu |
Rahu's effects for Meena lagna depend significantly on
Rahu's bhava, rashi, and drishti. Rahu amplifies the effect of any graha
who are sharing Rahu's house; and also Rahu magnifies the effects of the
lord of His occupied Rashi.
Rahu is co-lord of domain-7 Kumbha,
therefore Rahu-ratna
(gomedha) can in special circumstances be a beneficial gem for
arrangement of contracts and agreements with foreign parties. However
caution is advised to ensure that the lord of domain-7 and its occupants
are highly auspicious.
|
|
Ketu |
Ketu's effects for Meena lagna depend significantly on
Ketu's bhava, rashi, and drishti. Ketu amplifies the effect of any graha
who are sharing Ketu's house; and also Ketu magnifies the effects of the
lord of His occupied Rashi.
Ketu is co-lord of domain-4
Vrischikha, therefore Ketu-ratna
may be a beneficial gem for matters of graduation from educational
programs, ownership of vehicles and properties, and the deepening of
cultural roots according to the lineage of the mother (or the
motherland).
Apply Ketu ratna only if the lord of
domain-4 and its occupants
are auspicious, and in particular if the purpose is the building or
acquisition of buildings and lands for a school of spiritual studies or
a meditation retreat center, monastery, etc.
The purpose must be specifically
mystical and not acquisition per se otherwise Ketu's dissociative and
disconnecting properties will abort the property or educational process
through disengagement with the material world.
Very special circumstances but if
properly followed Ketu under these rules will give exceptional results
for the spiritual educator looking to establish a school.
Exceptionally successful when the erstwhile
is possessed of Chandra or radix lagna in the Ketu-ruled
nakshatra of Magha.
