Four graha associated with the Shukra Lagna suggest a total of four marriages.

Navamsha: Marriage Partnerships (By Avowal)

  • According to Parashara, Karkata lagna and Simha lagna have notorious difficulties in marriage, due to Shani's lordship of their seventh bhavas.

  • In Angelina Jolie's Jyotisha nativity, Karkata lagna applies in radix while Simha lagna applies in navamsha

Marriage Sequence

Swakshetra Guru in bhava-9 is very auspicious. Yet, Guru joins both Mangala and Chandra while bhava-9 receives drishti of both Rahu and Shani! Husbands in general are complex and problematic agents in her life; they each contain a piece of the puzzle regarding her difficult father.)

>Angleina Jolie Jyotisha Vedic Astrology Vimshottari dasha timeline First husband - Cheerful and identity-enhancing, but Guru = L-6, and Shani = L-7

  • Karaka = Swakshetra Guru = yuti Chandra, yuti Kuja

  • Guru = L-6+L-9 from lagna, somewhat stronger results of the Mulatrikona, Dhanau (L-6). Guru being strong, the pull toward dissolution of the marriage with good will but needing to proceed toward better opportunities, will also be strong.

  • Guru = lord of Chandra and 10th-from-Chandra, benefits to career from the marriage. Husband may enjoy a good position professionally, he enjoys leadership roles.

  • Guru in bhava-9, husband-1 very similar to father, same profession, high confidence, much physical energy (Kuja) and emotional affect (Chandra)

  • Dara-karaka = L-4+L-11 Shukra, the first husband is attractive, friendly, and security oriented. Also in the body-image business (Shukra in lagna.

  • L-7 radix+L-7 navamsha = Shani in 6th-from-7th, vyaya bhava of "private mind". The husband becomes an enemy through mental privatization.

Guru seems beneficial - but Guru does not meet subconscious expectations for husband.
  • The main problem for longevity of the first marriage is that Guru, who is always the karaka for marriage-1, does not have the qualities truly required to meet this native's subconscious expectations arising from navamsha. The 7th radix and 7th navamsha being ruled by Shani, the native must keep moving into the "Shani zone" of her marriage sequences in order to fulfill subconscious expectations of a partner who is considerably elder, involved in parenting (Shani in 4th-from-Chandra) and is often distant either mentally or physically (Shani in Mithuna-12).

  • The core expectations of "proper husband" behavior as seen from navamsha = a combination of two effects: Guru in Shani-ruled Kumbha. First marriage is Guru-only. Second marriage is Shani-only. Third marriage engages both Shani (2nd and subsequent husbands) and Shani's "wake up" drishti upon Guru, with all of Guru's positive implications (including but not limited to, luxury world travel, children, and extraordinary wealth).

Navamsha: Shani, lord of the 7th navamsha, is a difficult graha in radix (see husband-2, below). Marriage is not easy for this native - and she might easily be inclined to dispense with it, since the work appears to exceed the benefits.

  • Within the Navamsha, Shani is the Troubled L-6+L-7 for Simha lagna. However, Guru which occupies the 7th navamsha indicates a basic friendliness and orientation to the politics and the entertainment arts. Guru as lord of the double-Chandra-Mangala-yoga (for extraordinary wealth) shows each husband assisting her material career. But even Guru is lord of the eighth bhava in D-9, suggesting secret liaisons. Marriages may be friendly and advantageous for entertainment, but also difficult and short lived.

  • In navamsha lagna, indicating the female native's own behavior in marriage, Simha calls attention to one's regal appearance, while L-10+L-3 Shukra emphasizes her attention to her own career (10) and her public relations (3) communications. the native is skillful in managing media representations of her persona and career. It may seem to the native that her marriages are part of her career, rather than vice-versa.

Second husband - older, with markers for mental illness rooted in past-life fear

  • Basic marriage behaviors continue through the navamsha (astral subconscious expectations) into subsequent marriages

  • Karaka = Mithuna (mentality) Shani (elder, senior) Husband-2 was a full generation elder to the native at the time of marriage.

    • The "elderly" qualities of H-2 are emphasized via Karkata lagna. (Not all kundali would produce a second husband so dramatically elder to the native , but in the case of Karka and Simha lagna the power of Shani to bring one of senior status is amplified.)

    • Shani being a karaka for "problems", a woman's second husband often brings past-life baggage (actually one's own unfinished business, played out via interaction with H-2) into the second marriage. In this case the H-2 marker = mental disorder (Shani-Mithuna) due to past-life disturbance (12).

    • Shani being lord of seventh rashi and also seventh navamsha, the effect is particularly strong. The H-2 has publicly remarked that his OCD (obsessive-compulsive disorder) is extremely triggered by contact with antique items from 1650-1715 CE era France.

    • Thorton says, "I just don't like old stuff. I'm creeped out by it, and I have no explanation why...I don't have a phobia about American antiques, it's mostly French and you know, like the big, old, gold-carved chairs with the velvet cushions. The Louis XIV type. That's what creeps me out. I can spot the imitation antiques a mile off. They have a different vibe. Not as much dust." ~~ en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Billy_Bob_Thornton

  • L-7+L-8 from lagna and L-11+L-12 from Chandra. Considerable malefic ownership. Some benefits from networking (11) and disciplined practice of legal partnership (7).

  • Husband-2 hides his mind from the native and from himself. He may be negatively reactive without understanding his own motivations (12). While perhaps compensated by other talents, the second husband is likely to be mentally ill. (This husband is the dramatist Billy Bob Thornton, who suffers from obsessive-compulsive disorder and has completed at the time of this writing, five marriages and is five times divorced.)

  • Behari says, "... will subject you to many hidden diseases. Conventional religion, the denial of emotional satisfaction, and frustration in achieving your ambitions will often drive you up against the wall. In fits of depression, you may behave drastically."

  • L-2 = Budha + Ketu + Surya in 5th-from-7th, labha bhava of "networks of association" and "gains of income". Husband-2 has some behaviors of an elder brother. Much confusion regarding purpose of the marriage (Ketu) but good enhancement to public visibility (Surya, lord of navamsha). Husband-2 may remain a friend (11) but Ketu encourages detachment.

Third partner/father of children - jackpot!

  • Brad Pitt, by avowal/via birth-acquisition of children

  • L-9 for marriage-3 = Meena, containing Guru (children) and the extraordinarily abundant Chandra-Mangala yoga.

  • basic navamsha behaviors continue throughout all marriages. Shukra = L-10 navamsha, and Shukra occupies lagna of radix and navamsha, so it is reasonable to assume that the native s "display of beautiful appearances" career will continue throughout all marriages.

  • compare the material conditions of the third husband (bhava-9) to first (bhava-7) and second (bhava-2) to see that in terms of life events, the third union has by far the most significant engagement with the world.

  • Observe also the nativity of Brad Pitt, where his empty bhava-7 (first marriage) pales by comparison to the dramatic material impact of bhava-2 (his second marriage)

  • Karaka for the third husband should be a "graha associated with Shani". Since there are no radix graha in Shani's signs, nor graha yuti Shanaiscarya, it is necessary to look for graha which receive the drishti of Shani. Shani's drishti impacts only one occupied radix house -- but it is a very huge, beneficial, and important house!

  • Shani's drishti to bhava-9 and all of its significations. Implications are exceptionally positive for the native and her third spouse: children [Guru], profession of the father, wealth through emotionally energized productivity [chandra-mangala in friendly rashi] , the all-good dharma bhava contains her lagneshaChandra, and much more auspice

  • It is important to appreciate that the earlier, more difficult effects of Shani had to be processed by living through the karma and achieving emotional, social, and at least some degree of spiritual maturity. Only after two difficult marriages would this native have "permission" to enjoy a fully partnered family life.

  • Shani as L-7 of both radix and navamsha, remains a guiding influence in the female native's partnership life: material duty and social responsibility (Shani) remain heavy components of her contractual obligations in any partnership.

As an effect of L-7 karaka Shani, the third partner is also significantly her elder (12 years her senior) and he may indeed have some mental peculiarities. However the primary significations of the third partnership are the Meena graha which receive drishti of L-7+L-8 Shani:

    • Guru = L-6+L-9 radix (disagreement and father, also wisdom eventually); Brihaspati = lord of Chandra and 10th-from-Chandra (great for public recognition + career)

    • YogakarakaKuja = L-10+L-5 radix (entertainment or politics career), also lord of 2nd and 5th from Chandra (family and children)

    • Chandra = lagnesha, the physical self = body appearance and social personality

Reading the marriages via Navamsha Lords

In a marriage (whether sexual or spiritual) the relationship between the radix graha who is L-1 navamsha and the radix graha who is L-7 navamsha will provide a good part of the profile of the native 's first marriage. This pair of graha show which internal relationship inside the native 's own reality is being mirrored and triggered most intensively by the thoughts and actions of the spouse.

Marriage-1

  • For Jolie, this pair = Surya-Shani.
  • In radix, Surya and Shani = 2/12 angle.
  • As always, the dilemma of the Simha-Kumbha axis is that Surya and Shani are bitter natural enemies.
  • The angle is not favorable, and the graha are natural enemies.
  • The first marriage tends to involve someone from a different land (12) and be rather focused on wealth or knowledge acquisition (2).
  • Shani in radix-12 emphasizes the foreign identity of the spouse.
  • Surya + Ketu is rather detached. Prognosis for an early but amicable split.

Marriage-2

  • Second marriage profile = the relationship between the radix graha who is L-2 navamsha And the radix graha who is L-8 navamsha
  • For Jolie, this pair = Budha-Guru. In radix, Budha and Guru = 3/11 angle. As always, the dilemma of the Mithuna-Dhanus axis is that Budha is neutral toward Guru, but Brihaspati sees Budha as an enemy.
  • The second marriage tends to involve children (Guru). The marriage is friendly and advances the native 's goals (11) and is rather focused on writing, team communications, and promotion of the native 's ideas (3). The angle is not unfavorable, and the graha are 'soft' enemies. Budha + Ketu is rather detached. Prognosis for an early but amicable split, perhaps later developing a mutually beneficial friendship.

Marriage-3

  • Third marriage profile = the relationship between the radix graha who is L-3 navamsha And the radix graha who is L-9 navamsha

  • For Jolie, this pair = Shukra-Mangala. In radix, Shukra and Mangala = 5/9 angle. The third marriage tends to involve intensive sexuality (Kuja) and because in Jolie's nativity Kuja is very auspiciously placed with swakshetra Guru and a Meena Moon in bhava-9, there is abundant energy for children. Tends to involve a fatherlike or priestly figure (9) and be rather focused on children and dramatic creativity or politics (5).

  • the angle is exceptionally auspicious, and the graha are attracted to each other.

  • For the native with Chandra in bhava-9, spouse-3 = agent of creativity, children, genius, individuality, and speculative success for the native .

  • Spouse is independent and self-directed by character; if graha in 5 are favorable, spouse brings celebrity and applause to the marriage.

  • Spouse may have some famous qualities, through literary authorship, politics, or performance arts.

  • Spouse assists the native in meeting one's own goals, while increasing the marital network of association, due to bhava-5 = 11th-from-7th-from-radix lagna. Naturally subha-graha in 5 will improve this prospect while papa-graha in 5 will detract.

  • While emotional conditions of third marriage for Chandra-9 are particularly indicated by bhava-5, the material conditions of third marriage = bhava-9th-from-radix-lagna - the home of Chandra.

  • Should the native with Chandra-9 have overall marriage patterns that suggest a third marriage, and there are additional benefics in bhava-9, the third marriage is likely to be very happy. (Ms. Jolie 3rd marriage to actor-producer Brad Pitt).
