Ketu-conscious-contentment

Ancient patristic priesthood

Observer of Ritual Fires = "Appeal to Ideals"

  • No limits to political or creative empowerment. Autocratic.

  • Does what they want, when they want with whom and for reasons which suit their eccentric genius.

  • Disinterested in public opinion and not influenced by the great mass of the common people. (However their handlers may make a show of egalitarian concern).

Radix Moon in Magha = "Great" = regal, sacrificial, idealistic, and eccentric

Surya and Ketu are highly incompatible partners. Magha is an awkward location for the Moon. On the one hand, the native has a nearly unshakable sense of central privilege.

  • One feels oneself to be, intuitively, a chosen son (or daughter).

  • Celebrity status. political appointment, or royal recognition = one's birthright.

Yet Ketu allows the native to invest no ego energy into a broader enjoyment of one's brilliant talents. Ironically the native is a bit of a bystander in one's own theatrical production. It is not possible to be blinded by the glamour, to take oneself too seriously, or indeed to accept much responsibility for others. Magha is flamboyant but oddly detached.

The lights are bright, the costumes are elegant, the audience is paying attention - but somehow it is unsatisfying (Ketu). the native lives through all external glory feeling an internal state of disenchantment - emptiness - even potentially despair.

Magha-Chandra channels a creative, confident (Surya) but highly eccentric (Ketu) style.

  • Magha = Fire Magic

  • the native can channel divine imagery via emotional appeal to political and creative ideals (Surya).

  • Often the favorite child of a much loved parent, yet adrift from that parent. The mother in particular has suffered some sort of Ketu-disconnect with the world.

Highly independent in action with strong sense of specialness coupled oddly with profound disengagement from the world.

  • Self finds self to be unique, extraordinary, and sometimes delightful.

Unfettered by the laws of public morality. Romantic, poetic, dramatic. But also restless, drifting emotionally, unconnected (even when married) and so perpetually unsatisfied.

Emotional distancing

  • Like all the Ketu-ruled Chandra nakshatra, Magha often longs for the company of one unattainable, distant, or uncaring. Tendency toward unrequited love relationships, or very odd unions with partners from a socially different world.

  • Often attached to a father-figure (Pitri) (often a Guru) but this figure is somewhat ineffable, emotionally unavailable, unattainable, or standoffish

  • born into a lineage of priesthood of the fire purification tradition

  • however one may not be able to recognize the lineage markers, and instead notice only a special interest in firearms and fire

    • if severely damaged, could be a pyromaniac

Females Only = Ketu-ruled Moon

  • the female Magha native = "partner-optional"

  • Although companionship may be appreciated and Magha may cheerful marry with positive expectation (so long as partner also enjoys a Rahu-Ketu ruled Chandra)

    • indeed the independent and self-sufficient Magha woman may live in Ketu-conscious-contentment without a full-time partner.

Affinity for celebrity lifestyle and politics. Enjoys political drama. Yet feels disdain for step-wise attainments in academics or the professional disciplines of literature and theatre.

Does not wish to put developmental effort into maintaining one's felt-natural central position. Simply asserts the entitlement to be in the center.

    • If not recognized at the center of attention, may lose interest in the venture and participation will fade.

Not emotionally engaged in developing a professional identity, but often found working in politics, entertainment - esp gaming - and celebrity sports industries.

    Gambler.

May feel entitled to live elegantly on the proceeds of others' earnings. Can be a dandy or leech.

    • May earn ( or pretend to earn) by gambling and games.

    • Affinity for speculative business ventures, esp. entertainment projects like film productions or casino development

    • Can gamble away the treasury of another without regret.

    • Can do almost anything without regret.

    Apathetic not sympathetic

    • Is not much concerned emotionally with one's effect upon the lives of others.

    • Will deliver a dramatic performance - often compelling - via channeling the Pitri intelligence. However is usually not interested in role-modeling or representing causes or other expressions of social responsibility. Just needs to be in the Light, at the Center, absorbing attention.

Naturally suited to entertainments and amusements, celebrity venues, royal court - yet has disdain for all of these. Dressed down (Ketu) but highly stylized appearance. Something eccentrically attractive and distinctive about this native. Remarkable eyes (Surya) due to the priestly lineage. "Priest Type".

Numerous personal peccadilloes yet these are a source of public interest and not disruptive to the native 's acceptability. Ketu is unconcerned with public acceptance. Magha can sometimes flaunt public standards and still be appreciated.

    Father-figure.

Needs to obtainpatron, paternal or kingly status.

[Maharishi Mahesh Yogi, P. Yogananda, Churchill ,Thatcher ]

A woman with Magha-Chandra may feel the presence of the Pitri so strongly that she is perhaps more comfortable in the role of father than in the traditional mothering roles.

    • Deep emotional need to feel exalted.

Prenatal maternal narrative of Ketu and Born into Ketu Mahadasha Detached and apathetic Ketu is naturally adversarial to the attached and sympathetic Moon. The mother may have been feeling ambivalent (Ketu) about her pregnancy with this child, or simply distracted by conditions of separation or loss in her own life. Perhaps her own mother was dying or there was some other abandonment script playing for the Mom.

Whether male or female, the Child will be distinguished throughout life by an emotional Magha father-priest behavior, in which one bonds to another person but not completely. It may be easily to bond to one's own child in adulthood and less easy to bond with an equal spouse. Despite external brilliance, one is implicitly aware of imminent separation from the emotional root.

There is considerable self-celebration of royal entitlements (Surya) but little overt recognition of any element of emotional need or lasting attachment beyond need of an audience for one's fiery, kingly presence.

This is the interior psychic replay of the Ketu narrative which repeats the saga of the myth of Rahu-Ketu. In the myth, Ketu knows that Rahu will misbehave and therefore a certain beheading or detachment from the directing intelligence of the being is inevitable and further it is imminent. This personality may become successful in outer material undertakings due to other planetary support, but inside emotionally one is forever detached from deeper expectations of conjoinment or continuity.

(Should Ketu be yuti with Chandra in the nativity, the depth of detachment is very profound.)
