Moon in Vishaka= Bisaja (Lotus roots) = "Grows by Splitting"

(Guru-Shukra-Indragni -- Guru-Kuja-Indragni)

Bisaja Vishaka = multiplication (Guru) via splitting

thunderstorm: Indra = Terrifying thunder, and Agni = brilliant forks of lightening.

After nature's awesome, frightening and amazing display of light and sound, Indra and Agni bring the nourishing, essential Rain which feeds all of Life.

Bishaja-Vishaka represents the "fork" of sky lightening and also the "fork" of rushing rivers released by Indra.

Indra also rules earthquakes, whose terrible sound and fury splits the Earth and can change the fork of huge rivers.

Emotional Need for expansion (Guru) of one's shocking, enlightening, multiplying power

Forceful and brilliantly intelligent, known for quick, flashing wit and Brilliant Intuition.

  • fear of stagnation, ignorance, and darkness

Knowing the depth of their own power, Guru's own Bishaja folk are patient and good-humored teachers. Held in high regard by others, generally believed to be well-intentioned and friendly.

Just as folks know from experience that the scary thunderstorm will always bring nourishing rains, so Vishaka's occasional outbursts of scathing or bombastic wit bring insights that can evoke a great healing.

Splitting-root Bishaja like to interject shocking statements, split up placid conventions and shock the conventional expectations. (Oprah Winfrey confessional talk-show.)

Chandra-Bishaja wields a penetrating emotional glance which feels like a strike of lightening.

The results are almost always favorable because their jolting comments and glare are followed by a movement toward alliance of warring factions (Anuradha).

Physically, splitting-root Bishaja often experience small electrical shocks jolting their nervous systems, at a moment when their consciousness requires recognition of truth. (Also true for root-splitter Vishaka in radix lagna.)

Downside of Bishaja may be jealousy of others' material wealth and social status, esp. in the quarters of Kuja.

Vishaka's wisdom is brilliant but fleeting. This native may feel frustrated when those moments of awe-struck recognition of their amazing power have passed, and they have to get back to boring old work.

Vishaka's bursts of truth are unpredictable. Typically they are not rewarded for their social contributions until a body of their observations has built up over time.

Success after mid-life only.

B.V. Raman says in 300 Important Combinations(p 304)

"when the Moon in Libra is aspected by Mars or Saturn, the native is supposed to become cruel."...

"when the Moon is in the first quarter of Vishaka and powerfully aspected by Saturn and the Sun, he would not only be lacking humanitarian feelings but would be completely impervious to human suffering".

  • Deep emotional need for Appreciation of their shocking brilliance

Spiritual directors of this section of the path:

Sacred Tree for Vishaka Nakshatra = Limonium acidissima

Limonium acidissima (Kaitha, Wood Apple) tree = sacred to Vishakanakshatra

Fruit of the Kaitha Tree (Kapittha, Kath Bael, Wood Apple)

= sacred to Bishaja

  • "A girl born in Jyestha Nakshatra destroys (is the cause of death of) the elder brother of her husband , and

  • A girl born in Vishaka Nakshatra destroys (is the cause of death of) the younger brother of her husband.

  • Therefore a cow should be given in charity at the time of the marriage of such girls to wipe out the aforesaid evil effects."

Navamsha Moon in Vishaka (intimate relationships)

Dane Rudhyar (astrologer)

In order to mirror one's own subconscious emotional patterns, one attracts a core partner who expresses Vishaka behavior.

The partner expresses one's own dormant "shocking" brilliance, and the partner becomes the provider of moments of amazing, but also frightening, emotional insights.

The partner may seem to be flashing their powers and trying to scare the native , until the native realizes that the partner is simply mirroring back the native 's own fleeting, brilliant, insightful awareness.
