Jyestha difficulties arise from the Jyotisha rule that says Budha [the Nakshatra lord] and Mangala [the rashi lord] suffer animosity in their planetary relationship.

  • Mangala sees Budha as an enemy while Budha sees Mangala as merely neutral.

Emotionally, Jyestha tends to attack (Mangala) other people's ideas (Budha).

Jyestha are famous for their aggressive (Mangala) know-it-all personalities and their quick reflex (Budha)to belittle or downplay the significance of information that was gathered or perceived by others.

  • Newt Gingrich conservative politician, writer is known for a debating style marked by assertions of personal authority and privileged insight.

  • financier, showman Donald Trump similarly has made a career out of personal assertions. Like Gingrich, he is not a consensus builder but rather a one man show.

  • media emperor Rupert Murdoch.

As a class, these natives = high-strung and prone to considerable depressive anxiety. Yet their dogmatic authoritativeness is often convincing to a cult-like following, and success in public life .

Like Jyestha's siblings Azlesa and Revati: Jyestha is not an easy emotional placement for Chandra.

  • Jyestha's Nakshatra ruler Lord Budha grossly dislikes the Moon (who is Budha's true father).

  • Budha's mentalized style of conducting emotional life is often antithetical to Chandra's anti-intellectual, intuitive, responsive character.

  • Further stirred by the competitive, athletic, dominating vitality of Mangala, the Jyestha native is often intolerant of the viewpoints and emotional truth of others.

The Jyestha native needs, and usually gets, a great deal of control in business and charitable organization management as well as within emotional relationships, particularly in parenting and marriage.

Distinguished by the depth of their convictions, the Jyestha Moon folk radiate a sense of seriousness and natural superiority.

Competitive, flamboyant, and shrewd.

Flamboyant stylebased in unshakable conviction of the competitive superiority of one's ownviewpoint or physical talent.

Jyestha the Elder is emotionally volatile and cannot abide being told what to do by anyone lower than God.

  • One does listen intently to God; however there is very little tolerance for the perceived arbitrary ethical restrictions of conventional human law.

ypically, favored in childhood. An Aura of privilege, capability, and confidence.

akes the lead based on certaintyre: one's own Ability to win (Kuja) whether a physical contest ( Woods) or a talent competition (Liberace, Kidman) or an intellectual debate ( Jefferson, Einstein, Sagan, Nietzsche).

Can acquire large followingsdue to the confidence, trust and admiration which the Jyestha native can inspire (Prophet).

Rigorous mental disciplinebecomes necessary to meet the physical pain. (E.g., Eliz Clare Prophet, epilepsy; Christopher Reeve, paraplegia; iger Woods, knee surgeries)

Efforts toward overcoming this disability force the native to concentrate intensely on their mind-body links, and seek power deep within.

Known as recluses when they are not actively in leadership, they must withdraw into seclusion to rechargetheir batteries..

  • Deep emotional need to feel authoritative certainty.

Mangala

  • Mangala is lord of Chandra and lord of 6th-from-Chandra.

  • Therefore Mangala's karaka behaviors such as athleticism, competitiveness, and targeted sexual pursuit, are both deeply instinctive and capable of arousing significant animosity during periods of Kuja.

  • Often there is physical hardshipin their lives, imposed through accident, illness or conditions at birth.

  • Psychically gifted with Budha-Kuja energy can grant occult or tantrik perception.

  • he wise insights and spiritual communication they enjoy is due at least in part to their remarkable ability to concentrate mental attention into a single focus point of the physical body.

Wealth

the native may grow exceptionally wealthy via a vigorously energized output of works. When Jyestha Chandra in domains 1, 2, 4, 5, 7, 9, 10, or 11 combines with Mangala , the resulting Chandra-Mangala yoga is a very effective wealth-generator .

Nativities with need a great deal of control over their work process, but they can earn very high incomes from recycling their work product, e.g. via licensing and residuals.

However the downside of this potentially super-productive, emotionally-driven wealth generator is that it simultaneously causes a fierce Kuja dosha to 7th-from-Chandra.

Marriage

The Jyestha native faces an emotional challenge to learn how to share authority.

The relationship consequences of the need for constant control of the value and direction of all endeavors, including their core relationships, can result in emotional alienation.

  • Jyestha struggles to learn to share decisions and to partner on an equal basis.

Genuine cooperation in marriage and business partnership does not come naturally to Jyestha. Budha generates a certain nervous instinct to attack when one's own viewpoint is challenged. Budha and Mangala are enemies. However, with consciousness, the Jyestha may learn the tactical skill of at least appearing to accept another person's ideas.

In general, the Jyestha native is also handicapped in the attempt to acknowledge the contribution of others toward one's own achievements and public success .

The first marriage may suffer from a lack of self-knowledge regarding this reality: if one marries an equal in the first attempt, it is unsustainable.

The Chandra-Jyestha native needs to marry an inferior who does not mind being dominated so long as the couple enjoys good public respect.

E.g.,

  • Albert Einsteininitially married another mathematician-physicist but the union was unsustainable due to her joint involvement in his intellectual work inter alia.

  • Einstein never credited her contributions nor anyone else's to his notable work; rather, he gave her all of his Nobel Prize money, then cut her and their children adrift.

  • His second marriage to his cousin and former playmate, a simple woman with no intellectual training but a good heart, was much more pleasant for him.

  • Einstein's case is extreme perhaps because Chandra occupies bhava-6 and Chandra lord is the uchcha Kuja + Rahu in 8 (!) however the general pattern is present for most persons, male and female, with the Jyestha-Chandra.

Education Natives born in the earlier quarters of Jyestha often receive a solid education because Budha, the karaka for examinations licenses and schooling will be the mahadasha during childhood.
Prenatal epoch maternal narrative and Born into Budha Mahadasha

  • Budha = an enemy of both Chandra and Chandra's lord Kuja.
  • Budha = L-8 from Vrischika Chandra
A central structural challenge to the healthy development of the emotional personality which faces the Jyestha birth is that one will be born into the period of Jyestha's lord Budha.

Budha = inauspicious lord of the 8th and 11th from Vrischika Chandra = rules no trine, rules a dushthamsha.

L-8+L-11 Budha suggests that the mother (Chandra) is not fully available to the child emotionally during the critical early years.

Budha is an enemy of both Chandra and Chandra's lord Kuja.

As lord of 8th-from Chandra, Budha period suggests Mother's emotional ungroundedness and distraction due to excessive mentalizing of hidden matters within her own life. Mother is often over-involved in secret or hidden dealings while the child is young.

Budha as lord of 11th-from Chandra, Budha suggests Mother's incomplete emotional availability to the child due to Mother's mentalization of an income-earnings narrative in which mental traffic consumes too much of her life force energy, which ideally should ideally have been directed toward nurturing the child. Likely she is concerned with earning money in the marketplace but 11 can also be mentalization of the relationship with friendship network, her elder sibling or perhaps her father's younger sibling.

Mother and Mother-Figure
  • Mother has a need for manual and mental communications which deliver validation via invasive control.
  • She may place control above honesty in her quest to mentally dominate others (Mangala).
  • May be the needy mother or grandmother who demands that the children follow her exact instructions with no errors.
  • Spiritual director of this section of the path:

    • Indra, hurler of thunderbolts

    • fear of impurity, violation, weakness

Jyestha moon gone overboard = Elizabeth Clare Prophet.  Jyestha-Chandra tends to be unable to acknowledge that one's insights are a product of many influences and contributions from many people and sources, both in bodies and out of bodies. Classic Moon for a purported psychic "channeler".

Albert Einstein. Brilliant, yes, but he characteristically referred to his insights as born of whole cloth, as it were direct from the deity. Historians can see that Einstein was participating in a network of trained minds who were sharing ideas interactively; yet he rarely admitted his communal influences nor gave a respectful citation to other's works.

    • Each person's viewpoint is a product of history, of one's culture, of collaborative education since childhood, of one's teachers, of what one reads, hears, talk about, dreams. Jyestha's need for emotional dominance via mental argument does not easily allow sharing credit with others.

    • Naturally a person with sufficient self-awareness can channel and constrain this liability, but it is more common for the native to feel chosen as an exclusive channel.

Navamsha Moon in Jyestha (psychically intimate relationships).

    Mother Teresa

In order to mirror one's own subconscious emotional patterns, one attracts a core partner who expresses Jyestha behavior.

Under emotional stress in relationships, native with Jyestha navamsha Chandra can suffer inner control fixation provoking Obsessive attention to purity of intention in thought and prayer .

the native becomes locked into a state of concentration on a goal or mission, and cannot release control in order to enter into a normal relationship balance.

May experience the partner (a human or a deity) as an agent of intense mind/body control.

Even when things are going well, the partner needs plenty of privacy and seclusion. to prepare for periods of intense physical activity in their life.
