Those born under Purva Phalguni seek the best portion for themselves. They become connoisseurs in life, seeking what is subtle and refined."

~~ David Frawley, Fruits of Worshipping Each Nakshatra

Purvaphalguni, for females:

She is modest and unassuming but has a strong & fine character beneath her quiet demeanor. Very hospitable and sociable she likes to meet people and is interested in what they have to say and in their troubles.

She likes to sew or embroider and is often occupied with such tasks. She also is keenly interested in occult subjects and likes to listen to discussions on these matters and to read about them.

She is scrupulous in her obligations and a favor done to her will always be repaid promptly with something else added."

  • Chandra in Purvaphalguni: [Madonna]

Purvaphalguni, for males:

"A physical rather than a mental type. A healthy constitution not given to worry or anxiety regarding the problems of living. He must guard against impulsiveness since he is apt to act without sufficient thought and as a result he makes many mistakes which are difficult to rectify and which may be disastrous.

He is very active physically and will be proficient at various sports, reveling in the joy of mere action, even purposeless action. These people seem never to rest and are constantly in motion. As soon as they have finished one thing they start on another, frequently doing several things at a time."

You will possess sweet speech and are fond of traveling.

3. Education, sources of earning/profession: You choose not to be a slave to anyone. Even though you are able & intelligent you cannot necessarily reach the place of your dreams. It does not mean though that you will not rise in life. In the employment field, you will frequently change your job, particularly at the age of 22, 27, 30, 32,37 & 44 years. You will attain the requisite position only after your 45th year of age. While you do not want other's money you may be frequently in trouble in the financial matters from others. In other words, borrowers may not return the money to you. In spite of all the adverse positions mentioned above you will, after your 45th year of age, will reach a good position where power & authority vests in you. In the business field you can shine well.

 4. Family life: Your married life will be happy. You will have a good spouse & children & also derive much happiness from them. In some cases it has been noticed that you may not marry the person of your choice. You will lead a life away from your birthplace & other family members.
