Parents 4:
Queen Elizabeth: Rising Degree of the Navamsha Lagna = 08 Karkata (Cancer).
Prince Charles, eldest child of his mother Queen Elizabeth II. Effect of the Mother seen via the child's chart:
Chandra The Surya-Chandra relationship between Charles and his mother Elizabeth is a dominant-subordinate yoga. In marriage compatibility assessment, one of the best indicators of a happy and successful marriage is to have the husband's radix Surya occupy the same rashi as the wife's radix Chandra. However in other mutually dependent relationships, there can be trouble for the weaker partner when someone in their family or professional circle has a strong Surya which matches the native's Chandra. In Charles' case the power of his mother's uchcha Surya which occupies a Kendra and receives the drishti of Surya's lord uchcha Kuja, is positively daunting. It is almost impossible to say 'no' to a person like Charles' mother - she has the force of righteousness entirely on her side! Furthermore, Elizabeth's Surya and Charles' Chandra are absolutely identically placed, At seven degrees of Mesha in Ashwini nakshatra. It should be no surprise therefore that Her Majesty's control of her son is legendary, and expansive. Other close connections to Mother:
Chandra's lord Mars in the 5th house of fame, shows the strength of the Mother's bloodline. Mars rules blood and bloodlines. House-4; L-4 4th rashi contains the Moon's nakshatra lord, Ketu along with L3-L12 Budha, so Ketu the detached one has a strong influence in the conditions of his upbringing. It is reasonable to expect that the child of a high-powered public figure such as the Queen of England would not receive much direct nurturing from his mother. He would have been raised in an environment favoring public service over personal nurturing. Detachment and/or numbness would have been a key virtue in surviving the emotional deprivation of this childhood environment. Being greatly admired and appreciated by the public due to Ketu's rulership of the Moon might have been some compensation for the lack of nurturing. L4 Venus is debilitated in Virgo signifies troubles through women in general as well as problematic females who are not free to express their feminine sexuality (having sacrificed much of it to better perform as public icons). Therefore trust and enjoyment of woman and the feminine nature is low, the maternal home is not welcoming, and the child will be taken away from home (ruler fallen in 12th from 4th) at an early age - to be raised by males and discontented females. This was undoubtedly the case in Prince Charles traditional British public school education. The focus of his childhood was character-shaping in preparation for symbolic national leadership, not personal happiness or love. However Venus is largely rescued by "parivartan" with Mercury, giving dignity, security and stability - if not great warmth - to the mother's home. He certainly would have always had a home to go to - something which is not normally the case when such an unfortunate Venus deprives the mother of traditional nesting pleasures and sucks her into public life. Since Charles was in Venus mahadasha from age 2-to-22, the effects of Venus definitely marked his early experiences. 4th-from-Chandra and yuvati bhava, maternal grandmother 4th-from-Chandra and 4th-from bandhu [i.e. the 7th house] profile the underlying maternal style which comes down the mother's lineage. Thus they profile the maternal grandmother very clearly. In most societies the maternal grandmother has a built-in relationship to the child whereas the father's mother who is represented by the more obscure vyaya bhava (4th-from-9th) is frequently a background influence (unless L12 or 12th-from-Moon is quite strong). A notable personage in Charles's 4th-from-Moon would be his much beloved celebrity maternal grandmother, the Queen Mother. This extraordinary woman was held in tremendous respect and affection by the British public for her compassionate, hard-working actions during the bombing of London in WWII - as well as her continuing gracious public service into her 102nd year. 4th-from-Moon being equal to Cancer Lagna (one's social personality) in Charles' rashi chart, there would have been a positive and confirming relationship with the maternal grandmother, which could somewhat compensate for shortcomings in bandhu bhava - the home which the mother creates. The maternal grandmother is relatively supportive and nurturing - although she too would understand the demands of a public service lifestyle, and she too would sacrifice her home life for it. Yuvati bhava itself is not in the best shape, with its lord Shani 8 houses away in Leo the sign of his enemy, Surya. Yuvati bhava would show more the maternal grandmother's home conditions as opposed to 4th-from-Chandra which shows her loving heart. Undoubtedly his maternal grandmother's home was a restrained public place too, not an especially nurturing environment, a place with many taboos - indicated by Shani (restrictions) being 8 (taboo) houses away. As a side note it may be educational to observe that because yuvati bhava along with 7th-from-Moon profile the first spouse, Charles' world-famous marital troubles are seen in the inauspicious placement of Charles' 7th lord Shani. Occupying 8th from its own house, Shani will create public disgrace from taboo-breaking and politically ignorant behavior. On the other hand, the emotional relationship to the first spouse is seen in 7th-from-Moon, which is identical to the 4th house. Charles was commanded to marry a woman painfully similar to his mother, who had great symbolic charisma and who created a similar home dedicated to public life in preference to personal nurturing. Budha lord of 6th-from-Chandra occupying 7th-from-Chandra shows animosity of the first spouse from the beginning. Lord of 7th-from-Moon being the fallen Venus in 12th from its own house, the "troubles with women" forecast certainly came true when his was internationally criticized by both his wife and his mother! 4th-from-lagna

D-12 - or - or
4th-from-Chandra in Dwadashamsha
D-12 [whichever is Both Chandra and lagna are very strong in D-12, so we will look at both of them. Chandra is well-positioned in Karka; 8th-lord-in-8th gives mysterious powers, access to hidden wealth, and a great legacy. Lagna is also very favorable, with lagna lord Guru strong in his own sign of Meena with characteristic Ketu, showing detachment and philosophical distance from the vicissitudes of social performance. (Lagna shows how the person performs as a social personality.) Surya is by contrast to Chandra weak in D-12, but as lord of 9th-from-lagna, is a steady if not especially influential background influence. This weak, background-type effect is generally consistent with the public fathering profile of Prince Phillip, husband of Elizabeth II. Prognosis: Rahu's mahadasha runs for Charles during the eighteen years 1994-2012, his age 45-63. hese are the years in which he develops his own strength and charisma in public life, albeit by breaking taboos (Rahu) and asserting his right to love and nurturing (Karka lagna) against the public's claim to control his destiny. His commitment to emotional honesty and willingness to defend the rights of farmers and villagers in Britain as well as his outspoken criticism of corporatization and public greed are slowly earning him genuine social leader status due to his authentic personality rather than simply being the playboy scion of one of the world's richest families. He is the right man to lead his generation into an era of compassion for others. Rahu will increasingly amplify his commitment to sustainability and spiritual truth. Because his powerful Scorpio Mars is lord of his Sun and Moon along with Rahu, Rahu/Mars period 2011-2012 when Charles in 62-63 will be especially distinguished. |
