The above D-1 and D-9 are somewhat speculative, based on the widely distributed 0200 hrs birth time for Fidel Castro.
Birth location in Cuba's Oriente district is not controversial, but timing of this homebirth to an obscure, unwed house servant in a rural farm area, is undoubtedly somewhat vague.
Although Castro's Vimshottari dasha is not based on a verified birth time, it is perhaps reasonably close to accurate. Some proof of near-accuracy is displayed in the Vimshottari timeline of his life events, below.
Even with a slightly suspicious birth time, it is still a valuable Jyotisha exercise to measure predictive expectations against what really happens in the material world.

End of life: likeliest during Ketu/Ketu; Ketu/Chandra, and Ketu/Guru periods. Unfortunately the 0200 hrs birth time is not verified. Yet 0200 hrs is probably accurate within an hour or so. The Ketu vimshottari bhukti dates are perhaps accurate within a 6-12-month window.
It is possible that Castro's Ketu mahadasha began when Castro fell ill in summer 2006, and ceded power to his brother Raul.
Until winter of 2007, the Cuban government continued to insist that Castro would return to power. This policy statement, presumably directed by Castro himself, is more consistent with the need for stability and rule of law caused by L-9 Shani. The timing suggests that Budha/Shani period continues until early 2007. (With neechha Guru in house-8 of course, stability & rule of law are the rationale for secrecy and false promises.)
Ketu is all about "giving up", surrender. Ketu is submission, Ketu is 'Islam'. It is more likely that the true onset of Castro's Ketu mahadasha will be marked by government retraction of former claims that he will miraculously return to power (which seems to be starting in January 2007) and other evidence that Castro has accepted the transitory nature of this earthly life.
As of the summer of 2008 El Commandante has transferred power to his brother Raul. Some very minor liberalization of import appliances and other small things has occurred. But in general Cuba continues to isolate and impoverish its people, which suggests that the regime continues to be directed by a central personality.
L-2 and L-7 are typically the bhukti lords at time of death. Period of Ketu / L-2 Moon would begin in April 2009.
