Bush was able to conduct matters of office with competitive, corporate savvy. He always looked distinguished and was treated with respect in all venues (except perhaps toward the end in summer 2008, when someone threw a shoe at him!)

• Indeed toward the end,as gochara Guru returned to Makarain 2008, G.W.'s public respect levels dropped, and his career ended not exactly in disgrace but certainly in a national mood of disappointment in the quality of his performance, and disrespect for his weakness in mismanaging both domestic and international affairs (leading to economic depression and an unethical, wildly expensive war).

Attitude toward Marriage

George W. Bush 's first wife Laura Bush was not an athlete, warrior, or model - in fact, she was school librarian. Mr. Bush's Shukra-1 is dominated by Shani and Budha, and his Budha furthermore enjoys parivartamsha with lagnesha Chandra. It is the Chandra-Budha exchange which best defines Mrs. Laura Bush. Shukra is in a highly complex situation. Shukra is however GW's L-4 = schoolteachers. The couple is said to have met at a backyard outdoor party at the home (Chandra) of friends (Shukra L-11).

Mrs. Bush has said of their first meeting and quick marriage, that it was remarkable how many elements of their lives "fit together". Presumably something in her style of movement (1) triggered GW's recognition that this person was his wife-from-life.

  • However, both the intelligence and

    the true excellence of this remarkable Kuja are somewhat tarnished by its proximity to fallen Guru.

  • Kuja does occupy the superior degreeof Makara, reducing Guru's negative influence somewhat. Fallen planets are also weak by nature.

  • The negative influence from fallen Guru creates some tainted partnerships in the leadership arena, due to L6 for enemies occupying the 7th house of advisors. It is probably true that GW Bush is ambivalent about his extraordinary power as a world leader. He is a man of the people (Shani in lagna); not a natural elitist like his Magha father GHW Bush. Yet the karakamsha = dharma bhava; #43 was born into a priestly lineage, and he had a destiny to fulfill. It is well-known that the foundation for GW's success is the ancestral power and position of his wealthy father and grandfather (Guru = L-9 in radix) and their political backers.

Guru benefits from the acquired strength of his lord Budha and also Guru benefits from Brihaspati's intimate relationship with lagnesha Chandra. Therefore emotionally it could be expected that things would in general go well, with some glitches during periods of graha who occupy difficult angles vis-à-vis Guru.

• In Bush's case there are only two disadvantageous angles from Guru: Ketu and Kuja. Therefore except for the Guru/Ketu and Guru/Kuja periods, it should have been a fine time in his life. Generally speaking, for a young man age 25-40, Bush had everything needed: wife, family, business opportunities, and money.

G. W. comes from a wealthy east-coast family which has substantial business interests in Texas but their cultural homeland is the blue-blood estate world of New England.

As ballots were being counted for the 2000 USA presidential election, GW entered Shani/Rahuperiod while Rahu/Ketu transited Mithuna/Dhanus.

Elected with very limited popular support yet an obvious mandate from America's super-wealthy "overclass", G.W. appeared to face poor political prospects as the leader of a democratic country with a huge middle class.

True to Rahu, the Sept-11 crisis soon occurred which temporarily erased internal American class divisions and bonded all peoples against a common enemy. GW's approval ratings went sky-high.

  political connections.

In the lives of those lacking Kala Sarpa yoga, Saturn/Rahuis normally a very difficult life period which can plunge the individual into suicidal despair .

However in a time of national frustration (with a fraudulent election) GW relied on his family's huge financial power base. Shortly afterward, in a period of national desperation and fear G.W. hit the political jackpot, turning crisis of "Sept-11" World Trade Center terrorist bombing into a strong political base.

His popular approval ratings rose extremely high during the two years following the crisis, making his Shani/Rahu period an era of astounding political success!

• One of the best political features of "GW"'s radix chart is Yogakaraka Mangalaoccupying house-2, domain of speech and wealth.

• Not only does this position (and other wealth indicators) guarantee him a lifetime of extraordinary material prosperity, it makes his speech extremely successful politically.

• While the younger Bush is often criticized by intellectuals for his halting, contradictory, and seemingly uneducated speech (the normal outcome of Mangala-2) Bush's verbal emanations are popularly perceived as honest and believable by the American majority.

Prediction:

• GW's almost untouchable political career has been somewhat on auto-pilot for the entire duration of his incredibly strong Shani. Shani is neechcha bhanga within dashamsha, suggesting that bad events will help his career. Certainly the tragedy of 9/11 created a deep public need for trust in the national leader, and G.W.'s leadership style seemed to achieve that trust.

• Expect the career to start shifting into administrative paralysis (L-3 Budha with Shani) and loss of public identity.

• End of term of office = onset of Budha Mahadasha.

• Budha = L-12 = retirement.

• During the final two years, expect a loss of national dignity from fruitless engagements in foreign lands. L-12 distant lands Budha losses + L-10 Shukra = national dignity .

• G.W.'s powerful Shani Mahadashashifts into Budha mahadaha, in spring 2006.However the parivartamsha will carry him through the end of his second term with no major scandals except increasing dissolution of identity due to effects of the L-3+L-12 Budha.

Data:

• presidential term =2001-2008. The mahadasha of L-12 Budha began in March of 2006. Still there were nearly two years of his second term remaining.

• 2006-2007 = The glaring incompetence shown by political appointees at FEMA re: Hurricane Katrina became an "issue" rather than a "scandal". People seem to want to believe in him, regardless of the facts. (Power of the parivartamsha Budha/Chandra!)

• The mis-management of federal resources and obvious lack of leadership during the crisis of Hurricane Katrina increasingly burdened the Bush administration. It was apparent that Mr. Bush was in "lame duck" mode and consistently taking the easy way out.

• After the spring of 2006, Mr. Bush seemed to have very little enthusiasm for meeting the challenges of public life. His reputation for being unwilling to hear news of any sort of conflict, whether interpersonal or international, led all those connected with him to look elsewhere for leadership direction.

• Emotionally he was OK to continue in a leadership role (no breakdown of public dignity) because Budha = L-10 from Chandra.

• However under the physically and socially draining influence of Budha, he completed the duties of the presidency with lackluster performance, and left office with the some of the lowest public approval ratings of any departing USA president.

Dasha sandhi i.e. the gear-shift era between two periods, becomes a major factor in the transition between two long-lasting mahadashas.

• The "sandhi" [sambandhi] or "fusion" period = 10% of Shani's period + 10% of Budha's period = approx. 3.3 years.So, we won't see the full "shift into Budha characteristics for 3.3+ years into the Budha Mahadasha- by which time he'll be out of office.

• Expect to see a slow emergence of L-3+L-12 radix behaviors, such as foreign travel (L-12) and a sharper focus on team-building (L-3) and public relations.Bush is not popular with the liberal press - watch him start to reach out in a marketing/PR (L-3) campaign to try to replace his buffoon image (L-12) with an image of an optimistic guy who is more self-aware than you think (Moon/Guru). L-3+L-12 Budha is all about PR and subconsciously perceived images.

Career no longer Shani-supported

• Also, expect the career itself to take a dive because Budha is nowhere near the career powerhouse that Shani was.Budha is still believable and Bush still feels like "family" (chandra) to much of middle America, but the L-12 factor of a foreign war is dissolving his support base.

Budha rules no kendras

• Budha doesn't rule kendras in either D-1, or D-9, or in the all-important D-10.Budha is Rahu's lord in D-9, so the gainfulness continues.He is making money while all this political thing is going on, be sure of it. But Budha is not a strong career factor at all.To keep his career afloat during the last 2 lame duck years, either Bush the man gets a much better team - which he hasn't needed to do intentionally for 19 years because the entrenched privilege system (Shani) has supported him - or he loses credibility.

• Crisis has become opportunity (Shani/Mesha/D-10) on many occasions.Unfortunately in Budha Mahadasha, crisis is just crisis.

• Budha "wakes up" quite a few planetGrahaduring Budha Mahadasha.Budha's radix tenants are Guru, Chandra, and Surya - a positive, self-validating group of Grahathat all like to talk.

• Navamsha Budha give also the result of radix Guru, and Dashamsha Budha gives the result of radix Surya.

• Look most closely at Guru and Surya to predict the career direction during Budha Mahadasha.

Inner advising relationships from D-9

The psycho-spiritual effect which most motivates the inner circle of relationships including spouse and core advisors is seen in navamsha, manifesting materially through Bush's radix L-6+L-9 Guru

• L-6+L-9 Guru gives a mix of animositytoward Bush through expansion (Guru) of 6th-house matters like war and debt, along with some excellent fortune including divine protection and

  spiritual fellowship, coming through Guru as L-9.

• He's going to get some good advice via L-9 (to learn more about world religions) and some bad advice via L-6 (to expand the Iraq War).

• He will act on both, because lagnesha Chandrawhich his ability to commit himself emotionally, is optimistic (being with Guru).

• I don't think he'll completely lose credibility because his PR team will go into action (find the Team in Bush's house-3). They believe in him (Chandra+Lagnesha/3 in parivartamsha + Budha) and they have abundant media resources at their disposal (Guru/3). Despite both Guru and Chandra not performing well in Kanya rashi, Bush basically believes in himself... he will not have a crisis of self-doubt thus he will continue to be able to lead, albeit with a busier, chattier, more globe-trotting team.

Kala-sarpa yoga predicts a fall at the pinnacle of success.

So far Shani Mahadashahas been amazingly strong, weathering all personal and leadership crises with integrity and control.

• However, Budha because lacks strength in D-9 and D-10, after spring 2006 public confidence in his administration will dip.

• At onset of Budha Mahadashain spring 2006, Rahu-Ketu will return to navamsha axis whilst Budha is radix L-12 suggesting a significant loss to his personal dignity during spring-autumn 2006. But this Rahu-Ketu transit is finished in Oct-2006, and he'll get out of denial about then... realizing he has an image problem and getting savvy about fixing it.

• For a nodal guy like kala-sarpa Bush, the nodes Rahu-Ketu play a bigger role in his life than most. The general profile of kala-sarpa yoga is a person who, despite partaking of life's many pleasures, is still prone to sacrifice themself for a higher goal. Kala-sarpa people sometimes manifest as matriarchs of large families who promote the family, profiting somewhat personally but having to give up individual goals in order to promote the whole.

G.W. Bush has that sacrificial yoga, but Budha does not per se trigger it. Budha/Kuja period which stimulates radix house-10 and radix Ketu, may be dangerous - but he will be out of office by then.

I have the distinguished honor of being on the committee to raise $5,000,000 for a monument of George W. Bush. We originally wanted to put him on Mt. Rushmore until we discovered there was not enough room for two more faces.

We then decided to erect a statue of George in the Washington, D. C. Hall Of Fame. We were in a quandary as to where the statue should be placed. It was not proper to place it beside the statue of George Washington, who never told a lie, or beside Richard Nixon, who never told the truth, since George W. could never tell the difference.

We finally decided to place it beside Christopher Columbus, the greatest Republican of them all. He left not knowing where he was going, and when he got there he did not know where he was. He returned not knowing where he had been, and did it all on someone else's money.
