Mohammed Reza Pahlavi
born October 1919, Teheran
– died 27 July 1980,
Al-Qahira (Cairo)
Distinctive Features of
the Nativity:
Raja
Yoga:
yogakaraka L4/L-5 Shani joined with
L-1 Shukra in labha bhava.
-
L-9 Budha occupies Thula lagna;
-
L-4 casts drishti upon L-10;
-
and L-5 + L-1 cast drishti upon putra
bhava.
-
Unfortunately, he leadership situation (10) is
plagued by uchcha L-6 in 10 (extra-strong conflicts). Although born
into a ruling family, as suggested by the Raja Yoga, Pahlavi was
eventually overthrown by military force (6) expressing social unrest
(6).
L-6 in 10 is notoriously dicey
for holding institutional leadership roles. Compare to:
Parivartamsha yoga
-
exchanges Shukra
(wealth) and Surya
(kingship)
-
elegant, regal, fashionable, selfish wives
-
exchange of L-11
(earnings, achievements) and L-1
(physical body appearance, social personality)
-
result of parivartamsha does NOT generate the neechcha
bhanga of Surya in lagna - rather creates megalomania and
self-obsession
-
Rahu
+ atmakaraka Budha + radix lagna in Vishaka
lagna = agent of "shocking" social changes
-
neechcha
Chandra + Rahu in Vrischika
-
Kuja owns and aspects Chandra
+Rahu in dhana bhava
-
= a violent, emotionally
deranged temperament = profound rage of jealousy expressed
primarily within the family (2)
-
= lord of powerful but
manipulative "squeezing" Ashlesha
Guru = immensely wealthy family with tremendous power and constant,
frequently violent, internecine intrigue
-
super-powerful Guru
in domain-10 of leadership = the inauspicious L-3
(administration of business) and L-6 (enemies) from Thula lagna =
constant conflict in leadership roles, frustration with petty officials,
jealous enemies
-
However the same spectacular Guru
brings wealth from family (2) and from speculation/gambling (5) as the
L-2/L-5 from Chandra
-
Neechcha Chandra + Rahu with drishti
of Kuja = L-10 = eventually deposed in a violent revolution and
reviled by the common people
-
atmakaraka Budha in radix lagna AND navamsha
lagna = destiny to use the gift of a powerful and articulate mentality
-
Karakamsha = 8th-from-Chandra = most
famous as a leader of social change movements, compare to Rev.
Martin Luther King and Barack Obama
Compare to other Thula
lagna political leaders:

Hindu Astrology Joytisha-Shastra.
p 84., Vishaka, for
males:
-
"... aggressiveness and
impatience.
-
These people are overbearing in their
desire
to get things done.
-
They are very active but not
popular, since their manner causes causes people to actively dislike
them and to resent their extreme aggressiveness.
-
They are very proud and
because of this, they take offense easily at some fancied slight.
-
Their anger makes enemies of people who might cooperate with them, if
treated differently.
-
They will overcome their enemies
through sheer force of character, but such people will still remain enemies.
-
Tact
and kindness are qualities which they should try to develop."

Reading
the marriages via Navamsha Lords
In a marriage (whether sexual or spiritual) the relationship between the radix
graha who is L-1 navamsha and the radix
graha who is L-7 navamsha will provide a good part of the profile of
the native's first marriage. This pair of graha show which internal
relationship inside the native's own reality is being mirrored and triggered
most intensively by the thoughts and actions of the spouse.
Marriage-1
- [Princess Fawzia
of Egypt]
For Pahlavi, marriage-1 = Budha-Guru.
-
In radix, Budha and Guru = 4/10 angle = dignified and traditional
public/private roles.
-
The first marriage tends to involve
someone from a prominent professional position or a high rank (10) and be rather focused on
patriotic duty, property holdings and cultural roots (4). Radix Budha in
domain-1 emphasizes the physical appearance and decorative (Thula) costume
of the spouse.
-
The 4/10 angle is favorable. Unfortunately the graha are not
compatible: As always, the dilemma of the Mithuna-Dhanus axis is that
Budha is neutral toward Guru, but Brihaspati sees Budha as an
enemy.
-
Because Budha = atmakaraka and occupies the radix lagna and navamsha
lagna, Budha becomes a dominant karaka for the native.
-
Thus Guru in the
house of public dignity and leadership roles, representing a socially
distinguished wife, has a natural animosity toward the native who is
represented by Budha.
Marriage-2
- [Soraya
Esfandiary-Bakhtiari]
Second marriage profile = the relationship between the radix
graha who is L-2 navamsha and the radix
graha who is L-8 navamsha
-
For Pahlavi, this pair =
Chandra-Shani.
In radix, Chandra and Shani also = a 4/10 angle. It is also socially dignified
and engages the traditional public/private roles of husband and wife.
-
The second marriage tends to involve
duty (Shani) and deep emotion (Chandra). The marriage advances the native's goals
(Shani-11)
and is rather focused on emotional catharsis and acquisition of wealth
(2).
-
As always, the dilemma of the Karkata-Makara axis is that Chandra is
neutral toward Shani, yet Shani sees Chandra as an
enemy.
-
The graha are 'soft'
enemies. Chandra can be assumed to represent the young princess, who suffered
fertility problems (neechcha Chandra + Rahu receiving drishti of Kuja) and
lifelong depression as an adult.
-
Her relation to the native is neutral.
However he must execute the bitter duty (Shani-Simha) of divorcing a childless
wife. She retained a great deal of wealth (Chandra in dhana bhava). The
fertility issues can also be seen in the navamsha 2-8 axis, Rahu vs. neechcha
Guru (Brihaspati is damaged) + detached and ambivalent Ketu.
Marriage-3
- [Farah
Diba]
Third marriage profile = the relationship between the radix
graha who is L-3 navamsha and the radix
graha who is L-9 navamsha
-
For Pahlavi, this pair = Surya-Shani. In radix, Surya and Shani
occupy a 3/11 angle, and there is a great deal of support for Surya
(Kingship) from the parivartamsha of Shukra-Surya. The third marriage tends to involve
rigorous duty (Shani)
and major emphasis on iconic physical appearance through the dramatically
powerful neechcha bhanga Surya in domain-1.
-
As always, the dilemma of the Simha-Kumbha axis is that Surya and Shani
are bitter natural enemies.
However due to the parivartamsha correction, Shukra, a great friend of
Shani, comes to occupy Thula lagna in exchange with Surya, and the natural
animosity is well compensated with the dignity of wealth and public
grace.
-
With the third marriage, the native's kingly personality finally
achieves the required friendly support. Shani while by nature the enforcer
of a heavy workload and in Simha not a happy worker, is nevertheless a
yogakaraka from the Thula lagna with neechcha bhanga Surya and the
atmakaraka Budha.
-
Shani + Chandra in navamsha shows an "evil
queen" element in the wife's personality but this does not disrupt
the flow of income (Shani-11), dignity (Surya-1) and regal power (Surya
gains virtual Simha swakshetra through the parivartamsha.)
The angle is friendly, and (for good or for evil) the graha are
tremendously empowered in public life.
