During Guru/Rahu period, Wilson endured a political scandal toward the end of his Princeton University presidency due to exposure of his sexual affair with a local New Jersey socialite.

However she suffered from what was then called Bright's Disease, a severe kidney ailment with pain and swelling, and her ill health may have made her unavailable to the marriage after her children were born.
