Charles de Gaulle
-
18th President of the French Republic 1959-1969
-
President of the Provisional Government of
the French Republic 1944-1946
-
Leader of
the Free French Forces 1940-1944
-
Leader of the
Provisional French Government in Exile (during German
occupation)
Compare to
Distinctive features of the Nativity:
Here is an extraordinarily vital life path.
-
First of all, the uchcha
triple-maraka Mangala (L-2 from both lagna and
Chandra; L-7 from lagna) in Kendra provides a stunningly powerful
Ruchaka yoga which was activated during a lifetime
which included two world wars.
-
Secondly, uchcha Mangala yuti the neechcha bhanga Guru generates
extraordinary scope and scale for a conflict of multi-continental
proportions.
Rahu casts drishti upon six graha. Rahu accepts drishti from six
Graha.
Bad angles avoided
-
Graha are spaced in such a way that no graha
occupies the 12th from any other. This fact alone
protects the vitality in an orchestrated way;
graha in the 12th-from position drain the life force from those in the
relative 2nd-from itself, but there is no Vimshottari period in which
the bhukti-pati occupies the 12th from its overlord.
-
Furthermore there are only two 6/8 angles: L-10 Chandra occupies
the 6/8 angles from the Yogakaraka" intelligent educator" Shani, and
the super-strong duo of Mangala-Guru occupy the 6/8 from Shani as
well.
-
Graha in the 8th-from-Shani are not overly problematic, but graha
residing in the 6th-from-Shani will give significantly unfavorable results
in their bhukti period during the Shani
Mahadasha. Difficulties are
heavily karmic (lawful) in nature and arise from deep-seated
animosity, debt, injuries and diseases.
Difficult Mahadasha, largely avoided
Remarkably for M. Gen. de Gaulle, being born in
Chandra's latter pada of Uttarabhadrapada Nakshatra , the Shani
Mahadasha is completed before he enters school-age.
Therefore the potentially debilitating periods of Shani-Mangala and Shani-Guru
are completed before he enters adulthood and indeed probably before he
enters his first school-room.
There certainly would have been trouble
in the family home during those high-conflict early periods, and
the fact that he was born into Shani-Mangala period indicates a very
difficult and perhaps dangerous birth. However, the conscious impact
is minimized by his extreme youth at the time.

Salient features of the nativity
|
|
Atmakaraka and
Karakamsha
|
-
Atmakaraka =
significator of the soul = Vrischika Shukra in 2 = death, voice
(famous radio broadcasts) , knowledge of history = L-1
personality + L-8 sudden, forced changes; emergencies,
shocks and scenes of death -
Karkamsha =
rashi of the atmakaraka's navamsha = the activity for which one
is best known = bhava-5 Kumbha = politics, intelligence,
celebrations amongst the common people = popular elections
|
|
Arudha
lagna
|
-
Arudha lagna = bhava-3 Dhanusha =
planning, meetings, communication, short-term "business"
travel
-
lord of Arudha lagna
=
neechcha-bhanga Makara Guru = optimistic leadership
and expansion beyond the rule of law
|
|
Lagna
and Lagnesha
|
|
|
parivartamsha
|
|
|
Raja Yoga :
|
-
drishti of YogakarakaL-4+L-5 Shani AND L-9 Budha upon
Randhra bhava (Vrishabha)
-
= kingship in a time
of catastrophic upheaval
-
(similar Raja Yoga in bhava-8 violent
threats, explosives, and hidden forces for
Franklin
D. Roosevelt)
|
|
Kemadruma Yoga
|
Kemadruma yoga is relentless
poverty maker which deprives the native of property ownership
.
= no graha in the bhava 2nd-from or 12th-from Chandra, and Guru does
not occupy 1,4, 7, or 10 from Chandra.
-
General de Gaulle was an adversary of personal wealth.
-
He did not like money; he resisted it (Shani 11, resistance to
earnings; he refused to accept a government pension for
himself of his family);
-
he distrusted accumulationsand
detached himself from moneyin the bank (Ketu-2).
-
De Gaulle died
penniless, and he kept his family in a state of penury as well.
-
No
graha on either side of Chandra. Compare to other Kemadruma yoga
nativities: Edgar
Cayce,
Mother
Teresa Of Kolkata,
Shri
Aurobindo.
|
|
Vrischika-2
|
-
A powerful collection of warlike
invading and destroying graha in , a rashi of death and a house of death
-
Vrischika's inhabitants are positioned
in 9th-from-Chandra, showing great good fortune from cultural
upheaval, invasive war, veiling and disguise, surprise
attacks, domination, torture, terror, explosives, and professional expertise in
weapons of destruction. De Gaulle lived, fought, directed, and
governed in environments fraught with violent upheaval and daily
terror (Vrischika) of flesh-death
(Vrischika = maraka bhava-2). -
bhava-2, a powerful military house,
receives the drishti of disciplinarian Shani. Thus L-11 Surya+ L-1+L-8
Shukra, Ketu, and L-9 + L-12 Budha -- lords of five bhava plus Ketu who
give effect of Mangala -- are marshaled into military performance.
|
|
Surya
Surya in
Vrischika
Surya in
bhava-2
|
Vrischika Ravi = lord of labha bhava, in Vrischika rashi;
in 9th-from-Chandra;
receiving Parashari drishti of Rahu.
Lord of Navamsha.
L-6 from Chandra.
Naturally, the lord of the house of gains, who gives the
dhana yoga of L-11 in 2, will bring gains during His
Vimshottari period. This will happen on a smaller scale
because of the Kemadruma Yoga which prevents property ownership; de
Gaulle will come in possession of some other variety of liquid
value, just not vehicles or properties.
-
Surya, the graha of charismatic
leadership, is lord
of 6th-from-Chandra. While an imposing and
capable leader in nearly every aspect of national protection and
stable government, De Gaulle suffered countless enemies
(6) and enjoyed very few reliable friends
throughout
his life.
-
his people nearly worshipped him as a great warrior
during times of war -
Unfortunately however
de Gaulle suffered from an Autocratic [Ravi]
militarized governing style even when the war was
finished, which made him unpopular in the post-war peace .
-
He fundamentally disliked the popular electorate (11) and
showed his disdain by marching out of protracted French
discussions.
-
Unlike his military peers who made a successful transition
into peace-time presidencies -- note thewith more flexible positions of
Surya in Eisenhower, Teddy Roosevelt, Ulysses S. Grant -- de
Gaulle could not adapt to power-sharing styles of rulership. -
Difficulty of establishing friendships and maintaining popular support
is much compounded by the troubles in
Surya's house, labha bhava. Shani/Simha/11imposes a fierce karma
resistance to joining communities of any kind, particularly
groups of equals in distributive networks (Kumbha, 11).
-
Despite what appeared to be some version of communism with his
extraordinary dislike of accumulated capital and also a fierce
resistance to accepting any more than survival earnings,
de Gaulle per the self-defensive angrily austere Shani-11 in a
hostile rashi and taking drishti of Mangala, was completely
resistant to futuristic social movements (= his fundamental ideological conservatism).
|
|
Challenging Periods
|
-
Surya does not occupy
the 6th, 8th, or 12th position in regard to any graha.
-
Therefore Vimshottari periods of Surya tend to flow
smoothly.
|
|
Chandra
|
Meena-Chandra
= L-10, occupying bhava-6 Meena; Chandra accepts no Parashari drishti.
Uttarabhadrapada
Chandra =
emotionally defensive with a
high organized and structured Fortress
Orientation.
-
The native
knows how to protect oneself, even against
the threat of two world wars and constant infighting in the homeland.
(cf. Bill Gates;
Steve
Jobs ; Catherine
Zeta-Jones )
-
In
bhava-6, Chandra has a
natural compassion for the lowest, least respected classes. In
particular, a strong compassion for the fighting foot-soldiers
on the ground, the lowest position..
Due to Lord Guru in the neechcha bhanga state, and in
Kendra as lord of 10th-from-Soma, Lord Chandra = very fortunate for a career
in one of the ministries which attends to human conflicts.
[Factors including L-10 of navamsha = Mesha;
Chandra's lord = Guru + Mangala; L-10 from Chandra = Guru +
Mangala; Mangala = lord of Surya -- all work together to
produce an extremely strong military career.]
Chandra in 6 for Thula lagna =
de Gaulle
-
Chandra in 6 for Thula lagna will dislike one's job
(10), be
professionally underappreciated or disliked, be argumentative in the
professional discourse, and move from one exploitive workplace to the
next, until age 50.
-
After age "Magic 50", the Chandra Lagna
gains superior strength, and from the Chandra Lagna, the
Moon occupies the horizon.
-
Chandra becomes L-1 in 1 after age
50, and the career difficulties posed by natal L-10 in 6
will be washed away by the tides of time.
Example
-
Although he was well-educated with a strong foundation for
his profession and he wrote important books in military
science, Charles de Gaulle's
military career was very unsettled and contentious until about 1941.
His books were read more by the Germans (enemies, 6) and
criticized (6) by his own French colleagues.
-
Then he turned 50 and his Surya mahadasha began. By the
onset of his Chandra mahadasha he was approaching 60 and his
executive commands were obeyed.
-
Although he remained a somewhat controversial figure
nevertheless he attained the presidency of France and was
hailed internationally as a great hero.
|
|
Challenging Periods
|
Chandra occupies the 6/8 angle-from-Shani.
-
Chandra-Shani definitely and Shani-Chandra
in terms of shocks, periods will be challenging. -
All other time-periods of
Chandra should flow smoothly.
|
|
Mangala
|
Makara Mangala =
Ruchaka
yoga = uchcha L-2 and L-7 for Thula lagna and L-2+L-9 from Meena Chandra.
L-2+L-7 yuti L-3+L-6 Guru = virtually guarantees a lifelong relationship with
violent conflict.
Kuja = a
tremendous Maraka which places the native in almost constant contact with
scenes of death.
You will have a number of "close calls" while you fight to defend the land of your
birth (Mangala in 4, the homeland defense). Mangala resides in the gainful 11th-from-Chandra;
accepts Parashari drishti of Rahu.
For the Thula lagna -Meena Chandra combination, Mangala
acquires additional Maraka qualities as the "double L-2" both from lagna
and from Chandra.
|
|
Challenging Periods
|
Mangala is an exceptionally powerful graha
-
Mangala does not occupy the 6th, 8th, or 12th
position in regard to any graha.
-
Sub-periods of uchcha Mangala
will move smoothly during all of the mahadasha periods EXCEPT
Budha Mahadasha..
-
Graha in the
3rd-from-Budha can cause mental
health disturbance, by either over-stimulating (Rajas) or
under-activating (Tamas) the mental narrative.
-
Mangala will tend
to over-stimulate the competitive and killing instincts; Guru tend
to over-expand via over-confidence and increasing the scope of
actions at the wrong time.
-
The
refore it is advised to be
self-aware and self-correcting during the Budha-Mangala and
Budha-Guru periods. |
|
Budha
|
Vrischika-Budha = lord of domain 9 and 12; also L-4 and L-7 from Meena with Surya, accepting Parashari drishti of
Rahu.
-
As the lord of dharma bhava, Budha is naturally suited to preaching and
philosophy. -
In Vrischika-2, the professing is upon military philosophy and also
the philosophy of transformation and death. of In bhava-2 = extraordinary yoga of 4/7- Budha + 11-Surya + 1/8-Shukra +
Ketu, All of them in rine to Chandra .
|
|
Challenging Periods
|
Budha does not occupy the 6th, 8th, or 12th
position in regard to any graha.
|
|
Guru
|
Dhanusha-Guru
= the miserable neechcha lord of 3 and 6; however from Meena Chandra, Guru is
lagnesha and L-10.
Although
The
pushkaraja, "pukhraj"(yellow sapphire) is not advised,Guru may give excellent results during His periods because Guru is in
kendra-4 with uchcha Kuja, thus neechcha bhanga
brings out the best in the worlds of strategic and tactical planning (3) and
military style conflict management (6).
Neechcha bhanga graha = exceptionally strong and
protective. No gem is warranted however.
|
|
Challenging Periods
|
-
Guru does not occupy the 6th, 8th, or 12th
position in regard to any graha.
-
Sub-periods of Guru will move
smoothly during all of the mahadasha periods.
|
|
Shukra
|
Vrischika-Shukra = auspicious
lagnesha and
lord of randhra bhava; L-3 and L-8 from Chandra.
-
For the Thula-Meena combination, Shukra
becomes the notorious "double-L8"
who causes much upheaval and frequently
exposes the native to the conditions of death. This native will be prescient of death
. -
In bhava-2 Shukra participates in an extraordinary yoga
of 4/7- Budha + 11-Surya + 1/8-Shukra + Ketu, all of them in rine to Chandra.
Shukra receiving Parashari drishti of
Mangala.
|
|
Challenging Periods
|
Catastrophic and often violent change
may occur in the life environment of the native during
periods of double-L-8 Shukra.
-
-
Shukra does not occupy the 6th, 8th, or 12th
position in regard to any graha.
-
Sub-periods of Shukra will move
smoothly (if full of emergencies and high drama of fast changes) during all of the mahadasha periods.
|
|
Shani
|
Simha-Shani =
L-11 and L-12 from Chandra; located
6th-from-Chandra.
Yogakarakalord of bandhu and putra bhava; in bhava-11 Simha, a hostile
sign. Incoming drishti of Mangala.
The native
is exceptionally well positioned
to attain one's goals (11), perhaps at great personal cost, but nevertheless a
fundamentally egalitarian strength of social progress
vision stabilizes this nativity and promises success.
-
Shani is very difficult in Simha, the house of his bitter enemy Ravi.
However Shani does reasonably well in labha bhava which is Shani's
natural house. Shani rules Time and it does take Time to reach one's
goals. Therefore the earnings-and-achievements behavior of the native
with Shani in bhava-11 is distinguished by persistence,
self-discipline, and resistance to popular trends. -
t he Shani-Simha-11 native tends to be
disdainful of mass movements of the hoi-polloi
,
and yet the karma of Shani enforces constant contact and
responsibility toward very large, laterally networked social groups
. Further,
Shani = L-5 which is a strong indicator of celebrity and public
admiration - quite squashed when Shani casts drishti upon Surya AND
Shani = L-5 whilst L-5-from-Chandra = Chandra in bhava-6 the house of
enemies! -
De Gaulle's ability to
earn income for himself was
severely cramped by Shani/11 along with the L-11
Surya + Ketu and the L-12 (he died penniless). -
De Gaulle's popularity (L-5 and Surya) in the assembly of
citizen-voters (11) was always in flux and many groups rejected him
repeatedly (Shani/11). Over time,
however upachaya house results
do improve. (Houses 3, 6, 10 and 11 =
upachaya.) De Gaulle enjoyed
a stable period of governance in his elder years, from about age 60
onwards until death.
-
Classically for Shani, de Gaulle's
historical reputation has much improved over the decades
following his death ,
and he is now celebrated as one of the guiding lights who saved the
western world from Nazi domination. (He was not so much admired during
his lifetime!) |
|
Challenging Periods
|
It is recommended to wear the Blue Sapphire for
Shani.
-
Gemstone Exceptions:
-
Shani occupies the 6th from Chandra, and
Shani occupies the 8th-from Mangala and 8th-from-Guru.
-
Sub-periods of Shani-Mangala and Shani-Guru
will be highly problematic. -
During the
Shani
Mahadasha,
remove the Shani-ratna for sub-periods of Chandra, Mangala, and
Guru. -
All other sub-periods of Shani will move
smoothly during all other mahadasha periods.
|
|
RAHU
|
Vrishabha-Rahu =
an extremely important
graha in this nativity. In bhava-8; Ahi's lord = lagnesha Shukra.
-
Rahu receives incoming drishti
from neechcha bhanga L-3+L-6 Guru+ L-1+L-8 Shukra+ L-9+L-12
Budha+ L-11 Surya, and L-4+L-5 Shani. Graha sending drishti INTO Rahu include the lords of 1, 3, 4, 5, 6, 8, 9, 11, and
12 -- 75% of the total power of the nativity - engages the intensively
passionate and desirous, taboo-breaking and catastrophically impulsive Rahu.
-
In addition, Rahu SENDS OUT drishti to six graha:
uchcha Mangala, Neechcha Bhanga Guru, Budha, lagnesha Shukra, Surya,
and Ketu.
-
In fact, the only Graha which neither sends nor
receives drishti vis-a-vis Rahu is the L-10 Chandra; and that
is a blessing which protects this native's regulated, steadied,
well-founded and non-disrupted path of professional
career. -
Rahu's excessive influence on the nativity creates an extraordinary
life situation, and one that must be handled with
exceptionally high levels of consciousness. Rahu is clearly the agent of massive
transformation and upheaval in the native's life. Rahu is exalted in Vrishabha
and as such He is at maximum entitlement; Rahu may be a force for either great good or great
evil. Only history will tell. -
The
native
hungers for secrecy and
intrigue.
-
Whether the taste for hidden power and attraction toward
deadly force (8) will be in the end the sign of a great agent for good
in times of terrible catastrophe, will not be known until the real
truth about the forces behind the second world war are fully exposed. Surely Rahu will be extremely active in the life
of this native, and the lives of the many thousands whose lives he may directly
affect.
|
|
Challenging Periods
|
-
Rahu does not occupy the 6th, 8th, or 12th
position in regard to any graha.
-
Sub-periods of Rahu will move
smoothly during all of the mahadasha periods.
|
|
KETU
|
Vrischika-Ketu = in radix bhava-2, 9th-from-Chandra, lord =
Mangala.
Vaidurya is normally not recommended for those who intend to be active
in the world. It is more useful toward the end of life or at times of spiritual
retreat. The present nativity is extremely active in the world, full of Raja Yoga and ready to fight.
|
|
Challenging Periods
|
-
Ketu does not occupy the 6th, 8th, or 12th
position in regard to any graha.
-
Sub-periods of Ketu will move
smoothly during all of the mahadasha periods.
