role, since the state government was in truth

shaping law and policy, he served as a "spokesman" for the oligarchy. He

wealth).
He continued this jovial behavior as a
charming spokesman for national corporations during two wildly popular
terms as USA president, suavely repeating assurances to the little people
that, if most government regulatory agencies were dismantled (Rahu) and most
forms of corporate accountability were erased (Rahu), prosperity would
follow for all.
As soon as Reagan left office, the trail of
social destruction created by "Reaganomics" began to appear: massive
unemployment among the working classes, skyrocketing government debt due
to cuts in corporate taxes, a crippled educational system -- and a small
class of fat cats, purring contentedly over their unregulated profits

The man
who inherited the mess, Jimmy
Carter, was similarly unprepared. Although Carter made a number
of important course corrections to reinstate corporate accountability
