(Compare to Fidel Castro, Rahu in Mithuna lagna.) Like many who rise high on the world stage, Mussolini's nativity features a dramatic, classic Kala Sarpa Yoga - sign of an ideologue, who (willingly or not) sacrifices his private comfort to advance the cause of family, party, or nation-state.  When Rahu-Ketu are in lagna and Kala-Sarpa yoga applies, the native is both exhilarated & destroyed by the desires of the public.  It is a sign of celebrity & often, when the wheel turns, disgrace. Terrorism is an 8th-house phenomenon - terrible fear of secret power, fear of fear.  Mussolini's Fascist dictatorship was sustained by the most brutal terrorism in modern history. Note the extraordinary strength of Mussolini's randhra bhava and its lord Shukra. One key to Mussolini's extraordinary life as a gifted, prayed-for savior to rescue Italy from chaos & anarchy - who became a terrorist dictator & executioner of millions - is the overwhelming strength of Shukra in his D-1/D-9 nativity.   (Compare to the similarly extraordinary strength of a single graha, Budha, in Fidel Castro.) Shukra rules the vargottama uccha Moon in the secret, self-indulgent, tantric 8th house.  Soma gives the effect of Shukra from navamsha as well. Connotes great passion,  tremendous favor from women & lifelong extramarital endeavors.   Soma gives the effect of Budha from dashamsha, which amplifies the leadership effects of radix Budha, facilitating speech-making & the impression of being an articulate, caring (Karka) father figure. Note the modified Kala-Sarpa yoga applying in dashamsha as well. Mangala mahadasha - age 5-11 Growing up in L-2/L-7 Mars period, little Benito no doubt enjoyed the benefits of a strong body and the favor of women due to Kuja's proximity to uccha Chandra. But Kuja is warlike, acting out violently suppressed anger in house-8.  In navamsha Kuja gives again the effect of the Moon, showing the incredible power of the Mother and women in general in Mussolini's life.  Forced into the same house with His enemy Shani (the force of conformism & rule of law) and ruled by His enemy Shukra (pleasant behavior & sexual communication).  Mangala is a volcano of suppressed emotion. The integral violence of Mussolini's character - which the radix chart suggests is derived from both of his parents - was already active, in this self-defining period of the lagnesha.   By age eight, he was banned from his mother's church, and a few years later he was expelled from school, due to stabbing a fellow student and throwing an ink pot at a teacher. It is also a truth worth remembering in Jyotisha that in order for later mahadashas to bear the fruit we might reasonably expect of them, the early-in-life dashas must lay strong foundations for later growth.  Early mahadashas must be character-affirming and nourish the traits which bloom later. Mars being such a strong and determinative planet in Mussolini's terrorist-tyrant career, it laid a strong foundation for his later willful arrogance and willingness to blame others for his crimes.  Mussolini does not have the planets of a world-dominator like Hitler. Unlike Hitler who controlled events up until the end, Mussolini relied on passion (uccha Soma) rather than intelligence to guide him, and the results were almost comical ... if he hadn't destroyed the lives of millions in the process.  His operations were fairly parochial, his army immature, and his political hierarchy perversely corrupt. Yet, Kala-Sarpa yoga kept him firmly in the grips of vision for a change in the social order.  Shani-Rahu is a notoriously difficult period for most normal people.  In Mussolini's case, especially considering the KSY, the difficulties quite overwhelmed him.
