| What is a Healer? |
In psychic terms, "healers" are beings who are driven by the need to make
things more 'complete' or more 'whole'.
Healing is not limited to humans. Animals can be tremendous healers. Trees,
bushes, rocks, and bodies of water can host spiritual healing agents (devas).
(Think of talking bushes in Hebrew Bible and radiantly holy rocks at
Mecca.) There are healing forces at every level of nature. Beings
without bodies, spirits, can be spectacular healers. The Supreme Being is the
Supreme Healer.
-
Healers have the gift of repairing imbalances, filling in the gaps,
sewing up tears, replacing lost parts, fixing broken things, and every
possible way of making their perceived reality "
whole". -
Healers channel and concentrate the divine healing energy which is
surging through all existence at all times. Healers can direct their healing
energy toward themselves, at other people, animals, communities, societies,
the Earth, the Galaxy, or the Universe. -
Healers may possess conscious healing intent (such as medical or religious
professionals). Or - more commonly - they may be instinctive, unconscious
fixers, meddlers and do-gooders.
|
|
What is healing
energy?
|
It is natural to want to help.
Caring for others is a human species-survival instinct. When we see that a
fellow human being's energy reserves are dangerously low due to injury or deep
need, we are moved to share our own energy with them. We know instinctively
that healing energy is self-replenishing.
-
Most societies have a cultural ethic which praises and supports those who
help the less fortunate or those in immediate survival need (such as after a
disaster). -
When the impulse to help another occurs, the gifted healer feels a surge of
energy in their body. They feel a desire to give their own life-force
energy - which is loaded with their hopes, dreams, anxieties, projections,
unmet needs, and desires - to another person. The feeling of 'donating prana'
is like donating blood for transfusion to an injured person. At first the
healer is slightly weakened, but the body quickly and naturally replenishes
the blood supply. -
The
strongest channels for healing energy in the human body are the classic
circuit maps described as nadi,
chi/qi,
prana
etc. pathways or "rivers". -
However, healing energy is absolutely everywhere and it does not have to
run on the main channels. It can be very diffuse and subtle and it is
amenable to highly creative patterning. -
Healing energy is very cool.
Even least-conscious healers are usually aware of the strongest healing
power which runs through the hand chakras. They may also be aware of
other streams, locks, and gates of the healing energy river system.
|
| What is an "out
of control" healer? |
Healers have beautiful, pure, and socially ethical motivation: the
desire to help others.
-
However, when healers 'give too much', because
the core motivation is anxiety rather than neutral compassion, the practical effects of their
healing actions may be surprisingly counterproductive.
|
| Healthy, compassionate healers: |
A 'good' healer avoids the pitfalls of unconsciously giving too much.
A healthy healer learns how to turn their healing energy flow 'on' and
'off'- like a faucet, or river-lock.
-
A functional, successful healer replenishes their own healing energy supply
through meditative connection with the Divine, reflective awareness, and
non-petitionary
prayer (prayers of praise and gratitude, which are enormously
replenishing). -
A functional healer is consciously connected to the Divine source at all
times. A functional healer knows where healing energy comes from, and to
whence it returns. -
A functional healer is never deluded that healing energy 'belongs' to any
one person, group, ideology, religion, or set of methods or practices. -
Healing can never be an ego-based practice. Of course, the ego will try to
take credit because that's what egos do. However the true healer laughs at the
suggestion that they are anything more than a channel for divine energy. It is
a huge privilege to serve as a channel. -
If the ego interferes by trying to control or direct or
manipulate the
outcome of a healing, the healer realizes that the transaction has become
'ungrounded' and they stop the healing flow.
Healer heal thyself. he first priority of a functional, beneficial
healer is self-care. Walks in nature, eating and sleeping well, and a
lifetime practice of deepening trust will all enrich and stabilize one's own healing energy supplies.
|
|
The supply must be adequate to the task.
|
A spiritually healthy healer can 'store up' a certain amount of healing
energy in their body, and release it as needed to help self and others.
-
A functional healer 'checks the tank' to see how much energy they actually
have available *before* they do a healing. Before they promise to attend an
event, help with homework, do heart surgery, or write a donation check, they
check to make sure that the skills, resources, and trust are all in place. -
to avoid the terrible drain of "
over-healing", healers must
self-check quite frequently. -
Psychic healers often prefer to operate in teams
with a designated "control" or gatekeeper, who monitors the energy
levels of the healers while they are flowing. In highly skilled psychic
healing settings, the "control" healer is watching for exhaustion,
resistance, and inappropriate ego involvement. -
If the controller notices
interference, they will stop the flow.
|
|
Sick, manipulative healers:
|
When the healing energies flow impulsively, without conscious control,
the flow is erratic and permeated with the healer's own anxiety and fear. The
healer is not aware of how much energy they are releasing from their own
reserves. They get drained. Result is spiritual, mental, emotional, and
physical weakness, leading to system-wide illness and exhaustion.
-
This type of chronically drained "
sick healer" cannot survive
unless they find some way to replenish their own severely depleted reserves.
They need to hook up with a supply of outside energy -
go around looking for problems to solve. If they can't find anything
broken, they create a disaster so that they will be needed. They become
manipulative and controlling. The beneficiaries of their donated energy feel
toxic and invaded. -
Whether the results of healing actions are helpful or hurtful depends on
the scope of the healer's awareness, comprehension of natural process,
perception of their own motives, and appreciation of the power of divine love. -
With awareness, a gifted healer can give new life and help others move to
higher levels of consciousness. Unfortunately, without awareness, healers can be
manipulative, self-destructive meddlers who make trouble for
themselves and their loved ones. -
Healers are sensitive, spiritual people who also have
high levels of
anxietyabout the natural realities of uncertainty, incompleteness, and
meeting theneeds of others.
The
difference between a "good" healer and a "bad"
healer is their level of awareness of that anxiety, and their of skillful
"flow control".
|
|
When healing becomes bondage
|
When healing energy runs constantly, the healer becomes drained and debilitated.
The habit changes from the 'good' kind of healing that gives a bit of help
where needed and moves on, to a 'bad' kind of healing which seeks to control
the healee and keep them in healing bondage.
The needy person becomes a
nutrient replenishment 'source' for the weakened ego of the out-of-control
healer.

A:
Being
a healer is a burden to most folks who have the gift, until they learn to
genuinely "let go and let God" control their path of
development.
Plus, our hyper-rational society discounts intuitive information from the
"inner voice" as childish or mentally-ill fantasizing. But in fact,
intuition grounded in sincere faith is the key to all happiness and success.
-
It's interesting that you tried to start a Vedic remedy and panicked when
you detected its message. -
However, you might at some point hear a strong, clear intuition that it's
time to start the Vedic remedy again.
This intuition might arise in a
dream, while driving on the freeway, taking a shower, or washing the dinner
dishes... Just be willing to listen to it, allow it to be persistent, don't
automatically suppress or invalidate it as non-scientific.

|
Irrational "Feelings"about
an object or person - crazy, or psychic?
|
Lewis Bostwick, one of the great American psychic master teachers of the
20th century, used to give a lecture called "You're Not Crazy - You're
Psychic".
-
His point was that many people are sensitive to subtle
astral communications embedded in objects, or dreams, etc. and that
recognizing one's talent is the first step toward claiming the
"psychic" label and dumping that "crazy" label for good. -
The
object involved in the remedy *does* speak to you because objects are
material vehicles for psychic messages of all kinds. The objects that
'talk" to you have been programmed by a long chain of their previous
handlers. Many people have the capacity to pick up the psychic programming
attached to important objects. -
For example most people who are antique
fanatics are picking up these signals from the previous owners of the
antiques. Why else would people pay thousands of dollars for an old wagon
wheel :) -
Folks who pay high prices to acquire a work of art similarly are
picking up the deep inner spiritual consciousness of the artist - a signal
which connects them to the divine through a deep and compelling spiritual
channel. -
Most of these art-collecting people would rather lose their home and
all its contents than lose their precious work of art. -
Like these collectors, you have highly sensitive antennae for psychic
messages. You are gifted to perceive a more subtle level of information than
the average Joe. Objects - and auras - talk to you. But if you wish to proceed
on the path of conscious spiritual healing, you must accept responsibility for
handling your gifts with maturity and control.
The
remedy choice may have been too impulsive to really benefit you. You
likely picked up a strong signal from the prescriber, who knew you in a past
life, that you were looking for a spiritual channel-cleaner, and he/she was
spiritually and commercially happy to serve your need. The remedy prescriber
is probably a good person doing the best they can.
However your need - the
purpose for which you want the remedy - is not yet fully articulated in your
own mind. Like many emerging-into-consciousness healers, you may have fallen
victim (in this occasion and others in the past) to the confusion of hearing a
cacophony of exciting spiritual information and not pausing to sort it out
completely, to decide which - from the tidal wave of psychic data coming into
your antennae - is the right message for YOU.
|
|
this skill of pausing, as in meditation
and/or non-petitionary prayer, is the key skill of all healers.
|
Without it, being a healer can be a terrible disability. One can
waste an entire incarnation acting impulsively on poorly interpreted psychic
information.
-
A budding healer who lacks spiritual context, rational understanding, the
habit of meditation, and grounding in their faith can be swept away by the
intense, constant inflow of psychic messages. -
The
y can fall into self-doubt,
not trusting divine guidance, because they essentially doubt (unfortunately)
that psychic gifts can be used in the service of God. -
However, if there was ever a gifted healer it was Jesus Christ. If you take
him as your model you can be confident that you are on a superior path!
|
|
A small
sacred space in your home
|
As a healer, you may find it helpful to create a small sacred space in your
home where you can "pause" momentarily to consider which actions are
most helpful on your spiritual path.
-
Many people create an altar or small
table with sitting cushion in a corner of their home. On their altar they
place objects of beauty (to make the altar a center of gratitude) and also
objects signifying the problems they seek to solve (such as a photograph of a
difficult relative). Then they sit briefly (five minutes is fine) in an
attitude of relaxation and prayer, to allow their intuition to speak
uninterrupted so they can get a clear inner answer. -
For example, in the case of the inappropriate remedy, it might have been
good to place a sheet of information on the remedy, on your small altar for a
day or two *before* acting on the psychic signal, to restfully determine if
this remedy is helpful on the path bringing you closer to God. -
Sometimes one will need to "sit with" a question for only a
minute or so. Other times, a clear answer might take months or years, while
one's faith in the truth of the answer matures.
|
|
Overspending as a result of psychic overload
|
Healers are driven by the need to make things more 'complete' or more 'whole'.
-
Overspending, or buying things to meet needs one does not actually have, is a
healing responseTo meet the needs of others. -
span Healers may find themselves caught in
chronic debt because they are
unconsciously, impulsively following their instinct to meet the needs of
others. -
result of psychic overload. -
The
healer
picks up many signals from others, including the consumer-object
vendors. It can feel extremely urgent to act on that message. -
However, reflective awareness will prevent overspending and impulsive actions of all
kinds, by providing you a calm private space in which to hear your excellent
intuition which will say yes, or no, or yes with conditions, or no with
conditions... etc.
|
|
How to correct the 'overspend' impulse
|
When you are attracted to an object such as a vehicle, clothing, work of
art, book or video, home furnishing, or packaged 'experience' of some type
such as travel, fine dining, entertainments etc. -take a skillful pause.
Allow the item, or the idea of the item, to speak to you. Place the item in
a clear bubble, and have a brief, neutral conversation with it.
-
Ask it why it would like to join you during this journey in life. -
Ask it what it would like to contribute to your success and whether it
will bring more value and stability into your life, or whether it would
create debt or other psychic overload. -
Will owning this object reduce your total workload by solving an
important problem? -
Or will it create further maintenance (including debt maintenance),
storage, or other material management workload?
Ask it to show you its role in your life.
You may notice that the energy of the vendor is vigorously present in the
object of sale. For example, a car salesperson will infuse an energy of urgent
need
|
|
Committing
to take care of yourself |
Acknowledging your psychic healing gifts means committing to take care of
yourself, and not be led astray by the bewildering variety of signals you are
picking up. Healers must strengthen their auras and provide themselves a
reliable quiet sanctuary space for psychic rejuvenation. That is the healer's
responsibility to themselves, to learn to turn the incoming signals on
and off.Once you have control of the signal flow you will be a
hands-on spiritual healer of tremendous capacity.
-
Overweight and various medical problems also a result of psychic
oversensitivity and unconsciously allowing other people's suffering to enter
your own body. -
Your body is too much "open" through your natural
generosity and caring for others. -
Ancient traumas remain from past lives, and
these trauma points continue to attract new pain. Vulnerability can be
healed through conscious healing of the aura, so be sure to ask for
specific help on these body issues when you join the psychic healing community
and start exchanging healings with other spiritual healers.
Sincerely, BP Lama

Do you think I would I have
been better off to REMAIN "unaware"? ... I don't want to
get "swept up" in something I don't understand and can't control...
-
"Have the right relationship with God, finding your joy there, and out
of you "will flow rivers of living water" (John 7:38). Be a fountain
through which Jesus can pour His "living water." -
Stop being hypocritical and proud, aware only of yourself, and live

who has the right relationship with God lives a life as natural as breathing
wherever he goes. The lives that have been the greatest blessing to you are
the lives of those people who themselves were unaware of having been a
blessing."
|
A:Be "Aware" of
divine and "Unaware" of ego-attachment
We might have to look closely at that word *unaware* and see what
interpretation works and what is misleading. If they mean *unaware* in the
sense of stumbling ignorance unconscious, I'd say definitely not. But I don't
think that's what the person describing the Happy Healer is shooting for.
I'd guess they're trying to articulate what the Buddhists call
compassion. Compassion is an ego-detached state of
awareness of
-
fundamental sameness of one person to another -
Temporary suffering of one person noticed by another
which is the recommended motivation to have when helping another
person.
-
This sense of unaware would be
"ego-unaware",
or as the Buddhists say *unattached* to pride in the fruits of the action,
getting big-headed (or small-headed if it apparently fails) etc. -
In this
perspective, being "aware" would be the same as being
"prideful" or erroneously thinking that one personally had done the
healing -- the opposite of what we want in healing, which is a state of total
surrender to the divine. -
Using compassionate mind, it's quite clear to the
healer that they merely opened themselves up as a channel to divine energy
which flowed through them at the rate and intensity chosen by the divine.
Compassion never misleads us into thinking I Myself the Great One had anything
to do with it!
So from the more Buddhist perspective I totally agree that
"unaware" is the ideal healing state.
|
|
Compassion, not
Sympathy
|
-
A genuine healer's motivation is always compassion, not sympathy.
-
Christ
healed from compassion, which is the mindset of seeing God in everyone.
-
A compassionate mind recognizes that I am essentially you, and you are
essentially me. Since this essential force is identical with God, then I
"am" God -- and you are God too. -
We are vessels for the Christ Force
(the power of the anointed). After we've been practicing spiritual healing
consciously for awhile, even that sense of being a "vessel" drops
off. Eventually one simply accepts that one IS the Christ Force/Christ
Consciousness - in the purest way.
|
|
Crazy as a Loon
|
-
Now it's easy to see how the "aware" (in the ego-attached sense)
person could really go off the deep end saying they are God and thinking the
healing energy comes out of them personally. If a person says they're God
while they're still stuck in that primitive ego-attachment habit, they are
crazy as a loon and likely to cause trouble such as starting a cult or mowing
down a line of kindergartners because God told them to do it. -
It's not a "fine line" between authentic healing and this type of
dysfunctional-ego-insanity. It's a big, clear, obvious-as-the-day-is-long
linebetween light of *surrendering* to channel divine energy versus the
darkness of *possessing* or *manipulating* that energy. Healing energy can't
be trademarked, it doesn't belong to anybody, and it will eventually
annihilate the person who misuses it. But still, owing to a weakness in our
religious education (being trained from infancy to believe God is a
personality outside of us instead of an intelligence permanently within and
around us) otherwise good healers still do fall into this totally obvious
trap. -
Sympathy looks OK at first glance but it gets healers into big trouble.
Sympathy means feeling someone's pain for them. Sympathy usually tricks
healers into thinking that they "have to" fix this hurting person's
pain right now and according to their own ideas of what that fix should be.
That makes a big mess because here the ego is in control. Avoid acting from
sympathy or pity. Avoid any action based on "should".
|
|
Let go and let God
|
With compassion as the motivation, healers can "let go and let
God" make the choice of when and how or even if healing power is going to
flow. The ego is completely unhooked. The healer has no responsibility for the
success or failure of the healing. It is understood that the Lord helps those
who help themselves. If the person receiving the healing lacks faith in divine
power or lacks willingness to enter into partnership with the divine, the
healing may well fail - but this does not reflect on the healer. The Ego stays
out of the whole process.
-
Baba Ram Dass used to tell a funny/sad story about him and his brother. Ram Dass
was a nice Jewish Harvard psychology professor before he went to India and
found a guru who showed him divine truth. So Ram Dass comes back to the USA to
tell all the nice American young people in the mid 1970's how to
"be" divine truth. He told everyone to channel lots of loving,
healing divine energy to be happy. He had a HUGE influence on me. I was in
high school, deeply disappointed in organized religion but still passionately
seeking truth.
Just realize, Ram Dass said, that you are God - nothing else is real, only
God. You are God, you are perfect, Be Here Now - what a rush! But in case
folks didn't get that message on the right spiritual vibe, RD told the weird
story of his brother in the insane asylum. It turns out that two Jewish
brothers were both sure they were God.
-
We had Ram Dass right there on stage,
telling us the why's and where-fore's of Being God. He was sane, funny,
believable, and hugely uplifting. However, while Ram Dass was enlightening us,
his brother was withering in a padded cell. Apparently, his brother claimed he
was Jesus Christ!
-
Obviously that would be a problem in a Jewish family, but
also RD's brother claimed he was the ONLY Christ - all others were impostors.
He thought "he" was creating the Life Force! Of course this guy was
no kind of healer. He was a megalomaniac paranoid schizophrenic, without
a drop of healing energy running through him. He was keeping it all the good
stuff for himself, trapped in his ego - on the fast track toward going
completely nuts. -
So to be "unaware" - in the working healer's sense - would be for
the healer unaware of false ego boundaries to say, Sure, I'm God. And
you're God too. And you there, and you over there, and you with a different
complexion, and you who smell badly, and you with hate in your heart, and you
the opulently rich and you the desperately poor - we're ALL God. That is, the
healer surging with Christ Consciousness would be deeply and genuinely
unaware
of the superficial differences between people. They'd be seeing only their
bond through Divine Love.
|
|
Christ Consciousness
|
That's the way Jesus saw things. That's the energy running through Jesus'
hands when He raised up Lazarus from the dead. That's why Jesus said, leave
all your old cultural junk behind and Follow Me. He just saw God in everyone.
Of course, when we meet a person like that, we see this magnificent sparkling
white aura and we say, He's God! And true it is.
-
But He's not the only one who could run that energy. We can run it too. All
we have to do is Follow Him. -
Don't worry too much about reading books or figuring it all out
astrologically. -
Just follow your
intuition, try to remain in a constant state of reflective awareness, seek the
community of spiritual healers, and you'll be on your way
To learn to turn the incoming signals on
and off.

Refuge and Buddha-nature.
"Once we take ourselves and the quality of our life
seriously, and acknowledge the difficulties we may be experiencing, the next step
is to have confidence that
(1) it is possible to overcome them,
(2) there is a way to accomplish this, and
(3) we are capable of achieving it [Buddha-nature].
This bring us to the topics of
refuge and Buddha-nature.
Taking refuge is not a passive act
Of placing ourselves in
the hands of a higher power that will do everything for us, as the
English word "refuge" might imply.
It is an active process of putting a safe, reliable and positive
direction in our life.
That direction is indicated by the Buddhas, the Dharma and the
Sangha--the Three Precious Gems. They are precious in the sense that
they are both rare and valuable....
In short, the definitive level of the Three Precious Gems of
Buddha, Dharma and Sangha presents the goal we would like to achieve.
Their interpretable level indicates what we rely on, externally, to
bring ourselves there.
But we also have internal factors that we need to rely on as
well. These refer to our Buddha-nature.
We are capable of eliminating our problems and achieving the
definitive Three Precious Gems because everyone has Buddha-nature,
namely the various factors or working materials that make it
possible.
Of all our natural resources, the most important is mind.
We
all have a mind which, in its nature, is unhampered by anything from
experiencing whatever exists.
No matter what happens--no matter how confused, stressed or unhappy
we may be--we experience it. Even death is something that we
experience when it occurs.
The
refore , because we have a mind that allows us to experience
whatever exists, we have the basic resourcethat allows us to
experience a total absence of confusion and a utilization of all
possible good qualities for helping others -- provided that such a
total absence and utilization actually exist.
In other words, if we can establish that it is possible for these
two things to exist -- and that they are not just objects of nice but
totally unrealistic wishes -- we can be confident that we are capable
of attaining them, simply because we have a mind."

The Fern and the Bamboo
One day I decided to quit.... I quit my job, my relationship, my
spirituality... I wanted to quit my life. I went to the woods to have
one last talk with God. "God", I said. "Can you give me
one good reason not to quit?"
His answer surprised me... "Look around", He said..
"Do you see the fern and the bamboo?" "Yes", I
replied. "When I planted the fern and the bamboo seeds, I took
very good care of them. I gave them light. I gave them water. The fern
quickly grew from the earth. Its brilliant green covered the floor.
Yet nothing came from the bamboo seed.. But I did not quit on the
bamboo.
In the second year the Fern grew more vibrant and plentiful.. And
again, nothing came from the bamboo seed. But I did not quit on the
bamboo", He said.
"In the third year, there was still
nothing from the bamboo seed. But I would not quit. In the fourth
year, again, there was nothing from the bamboo seed. I would not
quit." He said.
"Then in the fifth year a tiny sprout emerged from the earth.
Compared to the fern it was seemingly small and insignificant. But
just 6 months later the bamboo rose to over 100 feet tall. It had
spent the five years growing roots. Those roots made it strong and
gave it what it needed to survive.. I would not give any of my
creations a challenge it could not handle." He said to me.
"Did you know, my child, that all this time you have been
struggling, you have actually been growing roots. I would not quit on
the bamboo. I will never quit on you. Don't compare yourself to
others." He said.
"The bamboo had a different purpose than the fern, yet, they
both make the forest beautiful." "Your time will come,
"God said to me.
" You will rise high!"
"How high should I rise?" I asked. "How high will
the bamboo rise?" He asked in return. "As high as it
can?" I questioned. "Yes." He said, "Give me glory
by rising as high as you can."
I left the forest and brought back this story. I hope these words
can help you see that God will never give up on you. Never regret a
day in your life. Good days give you happiness. Bad days give you
experiences. Both are essential to life. Keep going....
Happiness keeps you Sweet,
Trials keep you Strong,
Sorrows keep you Human,
Failures keep you humble,
Success keeps You Glowing, but Only God keeps You Going!
