"Ocean of Blessing"
XIV
"Dalai" Lama The traditional
birth information: Born as "Lhamo Dhondrub" at Sunrise, in Takster village, Amdo, Tibet On (the local equivalent of) 06-July-1935
. HH Dalai Lama,
translated and edited by Jeffrey Hopkins,p.188 "When I was
a young boy, Tantra was just a matter of blind faith. At age
twenty-four I lost my own country, and then after coming to India
started really reading Tsongkhapa's explanations on emptiness. Then,
after moving to Dharamsala, I put more effort into the study and
practice of the stages of the path, emptiness, and Tantra. So it was
only in my late twenties after gaining some experience of emptiness
that deity yoga made sense. One time in the main temple in Dharamsala I was performing the
ritual of imagining myself as a deity of Highest Yoga Tantra, called
Guhyasamaja.
My mind continuously remained on the recitation of the
ritual text, and when the words "I myself" came, I completely forgot
about my usual self in relation to my combination of mind and body:
Instead, I had a very clear sense of "I" in relation to the new,
pure combination of mind and body of Guhyasamaja that I was
imagining.
Since this is the type of self-identification that is at
the heart of Tantric yoga, the experience confirmed for me that with
enough time I could definitely achieve the extraordinary, deep
states mentioned in the scriptures. " Passion to be recognized as an equal
in bargains or contracts with those of higher status, although one has not
yet earned the right to genuine equality. Desires to "marry up". In a
spiritualized nativity, particularly fierce placements of Rahu-7 may
elevate the partnership ambitions so high that one seeks
union with divine entities. Engages in
exotic or taboo-breaking counseling-advising relationships. May be a wheeler-dealer, negotiator, contract-maker, facilitator,
middle-man, or broker. Special propensity to enter into promises with
privileged foreigners. Via deal-making instincts,
ambitious promises, and veiled concessions made during the bargain, one
may become involved in unsustainable alliances that are "over one's
head". Desires to "marry up" but due to these
pressures, unstable and ambitious Rahu in 7 generally indicates several
marriages or multiple attempts to re-engage in a definitive contractual
trust. For H.H., Rahu-7 occupies optimistic and humanistic
Dhanushya. He may enter into extremely ambitious negotiations with much more
powerful "partners" whose understanding of a "promise" is entirely
instrumental in the world-map (Dhanushya) power game. Indeed he has
confidence in these dealings since Surya sends drishti into 7. However with
Ketu in lagna, H.H. is more observant and retreating by character and there
is a good likelihood that his "partners" will take full advantage of his suggests a royal lineage, and a spoiled child -- but the staunchly
egalitarian 7th aspect from abstract, philosophically detached swakshetra Shani puts the
kibosh on most of the
pomp and ceremony. Despite the abundant plumes and trumpets of medieval
Tibetan ritual with which H.H. remains involved, he is much more famous
worldwide for his egalitarian presentation as a simple monk. Outside the
Tibetan diaspora, H.H.'s clearest image is of the simple monk saying
"My religion is very simple. My religion is kindness." Of course, within the Tibetan diaspora H.H.'s dramatic role in ritual
religion is extremely vital to ethnic tradition. We simply point to the
expected polarity of Chandra/Shukra giving localized ethnic pomp and
circumstance, while Shani emphasizes meta-rational philosophy and the
community of all sentient beings. As with all mutual opposing drishti,
if the planets are friendly toward each other the native can generally manage
the polarity by behaving opposite ways in opposite domains. Rising nodes suggest a peculiar tantrik incarnation, enhanced psychic sensitivity (Ketu) and
a life determined largely by those more powerful than himself (Rahu). Ketu, the
icon of Shri Ganesha, represents non-violent strategies for removing all
obstacles on the path to full merging with the Divine.
His Holiness was born fifth of 16 children of a rural farm family. His birth time is not
recorded or remembered; however the date is offered with confidence.
Anecdotal
time based on direct sun ray into the lagnas of both radix and navamsha
charts.
The sunrise birth time does yield a dashamsha for political leadership
which is consistent with his global influence. Let us speculatively use the anecdotal birth timeof sunrise
which is reported by H.H.'s family. If we set the clock time to 05:15
in Takster, Amdo (far north eastern Tibet) -- then, Tenzing Gyatso's troubled
exodus from Tibet in 1959 would correspond to Chandra/ Shani period. The momentous difficulties including threat of death during this famed period
in the Dalai Lama's life, could be sensible not only from the overall significations of swakshetra L-8
Shani, but also from Shani's role as lord of dashamsha, setting up a lifetime of
international leadership under highly straitened circumstances. Shani's power as L-8 in dharma bhava could signify extraordinary
accomplishments in an extremely conceptual religious tradition which
incorporates the full tantric skill set including magic and psychic
healing, but which is also philosophically rational at the highest levels
and - keynote of Shani/Kumbha - its top practitioners are utterly
eccentric. Further, H.H.'s career as a religious leader with political
responsibilities would be confirmed by the strongest career indicator,
lord of 10th navamsha, being super-strong in 9th radix of the priesthood.
His Holiness received the Nobel Peace Prize in 1989. This prestigious
international honor would have been granted at the very beginning of
Guru
Mahadasha, which seems very suitable if Guru is radix L-7+L-10 and Guru
occupies 4th dashamsha. Honorary Canadian Citizenship bestowed by the unanimous agreement of
the Canadian Parliament in 2006 USA Congressional Gold Medal bestowed by the US Congress upon major
servants of humanity, also in 2006. (The USA honor was backed by two-thirds majority of Congress - which
signifies exceptionally strong support for H.H.'s leadership despite the
USA's crucial commercial ties to China.)
At minimum the proposed radix chart displays advanced communicative efficacy. His
Holiness learned International English in adulthood and has become a highly successful
communicator in several human languages over the period of his increasingly global
leadership.
Proposed Ketu-rising also suggests his ability to communicate psychically with
those who are sensitive enough to perceive his presence on the astral
plane. Many people report that H.H. appears to them in dreams and waking
meditation, as a benevolent, fatherly figure offering unconditional acceptance
and encouragement in their spiritual practice.
About speculative birth times:
Please observe caution in using a speculative birth time! Vimshottari Dasha
absolutely requires accurate birth time. We can carefully build a case for using ae speculative birth time by
proving multiple correspondences between expected planetary results and
known events in the native 's life. This proving process is easier
for a public figure such as Tenzin Gyatso whose adult life is chronicled
in detail. On this page we are using public information about his
dangerous teenage trans-Himalayan flight from Chinese military invaders,
and later famous international honors. It would be easier if H.H. were a
movie star or a politician because we could use records of marriage,
children, and winning elections! However even the life of a famous
monk has notable moments that provide some legitimate rectification
data...
Yet, no matter how extensive the apparent correlations, speculative birth times
will always remain suspect . Predictions based on speculative birth times
must include more than the usual caveat emptor.
Readers familiar with intimate details of H.H.'s life
might wish to continue rectifying H.H.'s birth time to get the details working properly. What is a 'Lama Blessing'? "Let me begin by explaining what we mean by blessingwhen we talk
about a lama's blessing or the blessing of the Dharma in the Buddhist
context. Blessing must arise from within your own mind. It is not something that comes from outside, even though we talk about
a lama's blessing or the blessing of the Three Objects of Refuge. When the positive qualities of your mind increase and negativities
decrease, that is what blessing means. The Tibetan word for blessing can be broken into two parts--byin means
"magnificent potential," and rlab means "to
transform." So byin rlab means transforming into magnificent
potential. Therefore , blessing refers to the development of virtuous qualities
that you did not previously have and the improvement of those good
qualities that you have already developed. It also means decreasing the defilements of the mind that obstruct the
generation of wholesome qualities. So actual blessing is received when the
mind's virtuous attributes gain strength and its defective characteristics
weaken or deteriorate." ~~ H.H. Dalai Lama. (2003). Stages
of Meditation. Ven. Geshe Lobsang Jordhen,

www.snowlionpub.com All Faiths Good and Worthy "Suppose... you try to convert someone from another religion to the
Buddhist religion, and you argue with them trying to convince them of the
inferiority of their position. And suppose you do not succeed, suppose
they do not become Buddhist. On the one hand, you have failed in your
task, and on the other hand, you may have weakened the trust they have in
their own religion, so that they may come to doubt their own faith. What
have you accomplished by all this? It is of no use. When we come into
contact with the followers of different religions, we should not argue.
Instead, we should advise them to follow their own beliefs as sincerely
and as truthfully as possible. For if they do so, they will no doubt reap
certain benefits. Of this there is no doubt. Even in the immediate future,
they will be able to achieve more happiness and more satisfaction. ...When I meet the followers of different religions, I always praise
them, for it is enough, it is sufficient, that they are following the
moral teachings that are emphasized in every religion. It is enough, as I
mentioned earlier, that they are trying to become better human beings.
This in itself is very good and worthy of praise." |
