Tanu Bhava - House 1

L-12 in maraka 2nd-from his own house creates a dissolving force in the physical body. Imaginative influence on the personality & presentation of the physical body. L-12 in domain-1 makes a sleepy person who is better connected with dreams and imagination, may also have 'bedroom' energy and other implications of L-12 (e.g. Madonna). Losses through athleticism, competition, selfishness. But if L-12 is benefic their dreamy fantasies and power to channel astral patterns through their natural body are wealth makers and a source of individual strength.

Parashara says: If the 12th lord occupies the 1st house, the native will be a spendthrift, weak in constitution, will suffer from phlegmatic disorders, and be devoid of wealth and learning. " [133]

Dhana Bhava - House 2

L-12 in 3rd-from his own house gives losses through family members. Not completely unfavorable for acquiring money, but poor judgment in spending family funds. Softens the speech teeth & mouth which can be a disease factor sometimes, depending of the virulence of the graha. But normally just as Parashara says, speaks sweetly. Brings a dreamlike disconnection into matters of banking & financial management. Losses through ignorance of history and inattention to practical detail. Strange eating habits and highly imaginative beliefs.

Parashara says: If the 12th lord occupies the 2nd house, the native will always spend on inauspicious deeds, be religious, will speak sweetly, and will be endowed with virtues and happiness. [134]

Sahaja Bhava - House 3

L-12 gives some business benefit of self-promotion in the steady 4th-from angle from his own house.

Parashara says: If the 12th lord occupies the 3rd house, the native will be devoid of fraternal bliss, will hate others, and will promote self-nourishment (i.e. be selfish). [135]

Bandhu Bhava - House 4

A certain rootlessness which is compensated by feeling more at home in the world of dreams and protected by moving spirits. Caretakers, parents, esp mother are spacey or detached, may always be thinking of a foreign land. Although Sage Parashara does not mention it here, one benefit of 12th-lord in the auspicious 5th-from his own house can be the making of a fine meditation teacher.

Parashara says: If the 12th lord occupies the 4th house, the native will be devoid of maternal happiness, & will day by day accrue losses with respect to lands, conveyances and houses. [136]

Putra Bhava - House 5

An especially inauspicious position for L-12, being 6th-from his own house. Gains from speculation & children are dissolved. Poor boundaries with children; adults may share their fantasies and desires; look for inappropriate relationships. Damages the creative intelligence. Limits new ideas.  Eldest child is spacey, imaginative, has a somewhat tenuous hold on earth life, picky eater, lives in their head. Karaka for an early miscarriage from malnutrition. Significant losses through children and gambling.

Parashara says: If the 12th lord occupies the 5th house, the native is bereft of sons and learning.  He will spend much, and visit shrines, in order to beget a child. [137]

Ari Bhava - House 6

Generally a dusthana lord in a dusthana house loses some of its malefic powers. But any graha in Ari bhava will cause some type of trouble, and L-12 brings trouble of broken promises.  Brings the dissolving force into working partnerships, being 7th-from his own house. Unclear marriage boundaries; tends toward profligacy. Trouble sticking to contracts & agreements. Forgets what he promised, or doesn't care. Animosity in the workplace due to spacey, inconsistent habits. Loss of work. Karaka for chronic unemployment and - if L-12 is Shukra - escapist drug addictions. Rage at the machine.

Parashara says: If the 12th lord occupies the 6th house, the native will incur enmity with his own men, be given to anger, be sinful, miserable, and go to other's wives.  [138]

Kalatra Bhava - House 7

An especially inauspicious position for L-12, being 8th-from his own house. Marriage is harmed by rootlessness of foreign travel. The spouse lives in their own head, with a degree of mental illness sometimes; believes what they want to believe regardless of facts. If the graha is benefic, much bed pleasure through the spouse, but it is not connective, rather the playing out of interior fantasies. Spouse prone to extramarital affairs, but denies it; while the native sees the spouse as unreal, a foreigner, intangible like a dream. (Nice dream for a benefic; nightmare if the graha is bad.) Much loss & sorrow through the spouse.

Parashara says: If the 12th lord occupies the 7th house, the native will incur expenditure on account of his wife, will not enjoy conjugal bliss, and will be bereft of learning and strength. [139]

Randhra Bhava - House 8

L-12 in domain-8 provides dreamlike knowledge of the cycle of birth & death. Gives secret information through meditation & astral connection. Also loss of normal sleep. An auspicious placement, bringing important esoteric knowledge to the native but it uses the sleep channels so the physical body may not get all its rest. Contributes a bit to physical degeneration despite the overall psychic benefit.

When the destructive 12th-lord is itself destroyed in the transformative 8th house, moral dissolution is prevented & good character is strengthened. This is an especially auspicious position for the 12th lord, being 9th-from his own house

Parashara says: If the 12th lord occupies the 8th house, the native will always gain, will speak affably, will enjoy a medium span of life & be endowed with all good qualities. [140]

Dharma Bhava - House 9

L-12 dissolves respect for authority allowing the younger men to overcome the elders ["senex complex"] and thus helps personal achievement - being a dignified 10th-from his own house. The father is distant or overwhelmed by life. Enhances certain aspects of religious life, such as exoticism in ritual and bed pleasures with fellowship. Not good for university teaching as it blunts the rational sensibilities, replacing them with dreamy visions. However L-12 in dharmasthana does raise prestige through foreign assignments and helps connection to foreign sites for fieldwork.

Parashara says: If the 12th lord occupies the 9th house, the native will dishonor his elders, be inimical to his friends and always be intent on achieving his own goals.  [141]

Royal persons are government officials, chieftains, & other recognized leaders. Dissolving influence causes native to make payments to officials in order to protect his own small gains because L-12 is 11th-from his own house. Unfavorable for conventional career advancement. However the native may receive leadership responsibilities for otherworldly enterprises, supervision of meditation centers, visionary businesses etc.

Parashara says: If the 12th lord occupies the 10th house, the native will incur expenditure through royal persons & will enjoy only moderate paternal bliss. [142]

Labha Bhava - House 11

'Others' are often friends but not family; L-12 in alienated 12th-from his own house. Losses in the marketplace. Tries to start businesses and make friendly connections, but plagued by one's own imagination of either worthlessness or grandiosity. House of mirrors. Drains the energy out of most types of social networking. However, gains from foreign travel and from products related to sleep & the imagination may be realized.

Parashara says: If the 12th lord occupies the 11th house, the native will incur losses, will be brought up by others, & will sometimes gain through others. [143]

Vyaya Bhava - House 12

Dissolving force dissolves the meditative influence of the astral body, often causing physical hormonal imbalance - being 1st-from his own house. Physical body is troublesome because the emotional body is taking more power than it should. Many losses throughout life, notably through foreign travel & the spouse's debt. Malefics give better results. If benefic, look for substance addictions or destructive escapist pleasures.

Parashara says: If the 12th lord occupies the 12th house, the native will only face heavy expenditure, will not have physical felicity, and will be irritable & spiteful. [144]
