He has a slender waist.
His limbs are fine and of a reddish hue.

~~ Jataka Parijata, Ch. 2 Nature of the Planets and Their Properties, Shloka 55
If Mars is well positioned, the Mars mahadasha can be the most dynamic and productive period of life. If Mars is weak or ill dignified, Mars mahadasha signifies anger (krodha), blaming, and accidents.
If one holds the conventional victim perspective of things happening "to" one, Mars periods can release so much anger that severe accidents are not out of the question. The possibility of really harming yourself -- or allowing another person to mirror your frustration so intensely that they harm you -- is adequate motivation to pursue a more conscious release for the anger!
If you have a Mangala mahadasha coming up it is wise to study the psychology of projection, to avoid projecting one's own internal anger randomly into the environment, where it can be picked up unconsciously by another person and "returned to owner" with vivid force!
Sorry if I sound preachy or alarmist, but paapa (malefic) Mars functioning at full power can be a serious maraka. An intelligent and reflective person will be aware of the volume of anger surging toward the top of one's psychic volcano. You might not see it as a real threat to your life. But Mars can be fatally dangerous if he owns or occupies a maraka house.
Mars can stimulate conflict and violence in the life. Wow, that sounds scary. Well, it can be... but remember the planets simply evoke subconscious patterns forcing them to rise into conscious action, at the scheduled time. The planets don't "cause" experiences. The planets evoke past-life/early childhood unresolved moral and emotional situations, whether that be a fight or a caring touch, and raise them to the surface of consciousness. The individual's own memories are what "cause" the experience. Clearly to avoid the potential negative consequences of the era of the planet assigned to violence and conflict, it is helpful to develop awareness of what is in that memory bank!
Meditation, journal-writing, counseling, healing - it all works.
When the native is at least partly conscious of the memories which are being stimulated by the Mars period, Mangala can evoke a massive physical and emotional healing transformation. It just depends on how the person understands the release process. If they think they can only release by blasting off a few heads in McDonalds with an ouzi, that's what they'll do. If they think they can only release by rampant domineering sexual profligacy, that's what they'll do. If they think intensive massage, long-distance running, or all-hands-on-deck self-healing is a better way, that's what they'll do.
And they'll do it with power.
Spiritually advanced types will harness Kuja's surging energy for tantric healing. But Mars is the warrior planet and even the most dignified position of Mars has a vulgar underside. Everyone has anger and aggression, stored in the subconscious over the course of many lifetimes. So, even a guru will get angry occasionally under Mars influence, or cross sexual boundaries, or act with unusual selfishness.
Depending on which houses he rules, Mars may stimulate aggressive behavior from relatives, co-workers, the spouse, or the government. The most conscious option is to deal with each attack directly, understanding that the people attacking you now - physically or emotionally - are people you have attacked in past lives. It is supremely difficult to turn the other cheek, but if one really accepts responsibility for the consequences of past-life mistakes, it will be possible to deal with others' anger which right now is directed straight at you.
If you are able to psychically release inherited blaming behaviors your career will take a huge step up into a much more sophisticated and genteel social level. Mars is a fabulously prosperous career planet when he is exalted in Capricorn, or strong in his own two signs Scorpio and Aries, or occupying a good house like Tanu, Putra, Dharma, Karma -- or in Chandra-Mangala yoga.
If you keep the anger inside, you will shoot yourself in the foot again and again, trashing your business & family communications via sudden, unconscious angry remarks or body language that totally distracts your communicant. That's how strong Mars can be!
Mars is very sexual. Venus is incoming, magnetic, attractive love energy. But Mars is the outgoing proactive sexual energy, that probes another's psychic space, and invades their aura with your desire. Unfortunately however Kuja is also the planet of crime and aggression. "Crimes of passion" come from Mars. Definitely one benefit of releasing family blaming behaviors during Mars period is a much smoother sexual attraction cycle. Lovers will be able to see your sensual beauty directly, instead of having to negotiate the psychic anger field. Sexual energy steadies out, permitting longer lasting but still high voltage sexual relationships.
For many educated people, having professional status is an effective way to gain leverage against the downward-pulling force of one's family. But if one deals directly with the anger patterns in the family, rather than hiding in professional engagement, the wisdom gained in that family space will ultimately make you a more grounded and secure adult. Your defenses in the outside world will operate better as a result.
Generally during Mars periods, career & athletic activities will go full speed ahead - if you don't block it. When emotional matters surge to the front burner they must receive priority attention. Mars increases sensuality and excitement. The stronger Mars is, the more deeply sensual the person and the more they appreciate power and feel entitled to flaunt it. But Mars requires some clever balancing of career development and emotional down-time for health maintenance. If you do the maintenance you can have big power to start new ventures under Rahu, which is always the next mahadasha.
Under influence of Mars you will be shown a highly rewarding work path if you have the inner peace and clarity to recognize that path. For many with a strong Mars so much energy is going into anger management that a low-to-medium awareness person could not possibly manifest more than neutral professional survival. Anger is self-imprisoning . There can be vicious arguments because Mars makes speech brutally honest - and often sarcastic or vulgar too.
As anger arises, give yourself permission to heal, release, heal, release. Start screaming. Dance your brains out. Any heat-generating movement will give excellent release. Martial arts that use powerful leg/pelvic movement with screaming are perfect!! Mars is third chakra so run that bright yellow Kuja force with enthusiasm! If you have the blessing to release anger through warrior arts, dance, bicycling, massage (esp of upper legs/pelvis/abdomen) THEN you can USE the energy newly freed from anger management TO ADVANCE YOUR CAREER. Basically the more energy you release through conscious healing the faster your career and love-life log-jams will break up.
Ayurvedic treatment is great because of the hot oil massages, but if you can't find a brilliant ayurved then homeopathic is good too. Standard homeopathic remedies for Rage include belladonna. However the homeopath (ideally only classic homeopathy) will ask for your full lifestyle, and they might peel off the onion layers more slowly.
I'm emphasizing how important anger release and healing are for Mars folks because these are our leaders. The world needs you. Mars phase is a critical make-or-break step in advancing leadership vocations. The anger either consumes you or you transform it into jet fuel, break the chains, and get pro-active.
In the beginning Mars mahadasha can be supremely frustrating because unless the anger is acknowledged Mars actually generates a big career block. This is for conscious folks the darkness before the dawn. True leader will climb to higher leadership potency through higher awareness.
You're right - it is all impermanent - but so long as we live in the delusion, leaders are needed to show us the way toward peace. As a culture we are transitioning out of the tribal framework but there is still a lot of war around because there is still a lot of fear and anger around. I wish you success and deep peace in helping yourself to manage your own anger so that you gain strength and confidence to help others on the hard road to true peace.
The great amplifier as always is Rahu. If Rahu yuti Mangala occupies a rashi of mouthpiece-Budha (Mithuna or Kanya) expect verbal aggression & elaborate, legalistic argumentation as well as characteristic mapping & planning. Compulsive levels of offensive argumentation during periods of Rahu or Kuja.
Rahu with Kuja in a sign of Moon (Karkata) gives severe emotional disturbance. Psycho-emotional confusion, inability to locate or respect personal boundaries, and extreme desire polarization suggest a bipolar or traumatic-reactive condition. Even if Kuja is in lagna and therefore Yogakaraka, the native will be unstable. But when Kuja is yogakaraka the native may be able to translate his emotional volatility into vigorously productive, self-expressive work that receives social accolades.
Ketu with the Karka Moon is simply withdrawn. All the drama in internalized. This is a combination for mental and emotional illness, but potentially also a psychic sensitivity that allows communication with spirits in a healing way. Meditation practice here makes the difference. If in a structured and supervised practice, the super-sensitive and easily invaded native can serve his community as a vital link to the spirit world.
It is up to everyone to bring an end to war.
We can of course identify those who have incited conflict, but we cannot pretend that they sprung up out of nowhere or that they acted in isolation.
They were members of a society of which we are all members too, and for which each one of us carries a share of responsibility.
If we want to bring about peace in the world, let us start by creating it in ourselves.
~~ H.H. Dalai Lama, 365 Dalai Lama: Daily Advice from the Heart, Matthieu Ricard (Ed.)
If there are sound reasons or bases for the points you demand, then there is no need to use violence.
On the other hand, when there is no sound reason that concessions should be made to you but mainly your own desire, then reason cannot work and you have to rely on force.
Thus, using force is not a sign of strength but rather a sign of weakness.
Even in daily human contact, if we talk seriously, using reasons, there is no need to feel anger. We can argue the points. When we fail to prove with reason, then anger comes.
When reason ends, then anger begins. Therefore, anger is a sign of weakness.
