Other remedial and supportive measures appropriate to Mangala Mahadasha

For most nativities, the gemstone for Mangala may be enjoyed

  • exceptions: not Kanya and not Mithuna

for all nativities, wearing coral-toned, dark-red or red-black colored clothing will support Mangala's competitive skills and His urge to championship. (Note: the deepest blue-black tones belong to Shani whereas the deepest red-black tones belong to Angarika._

  • Mangala likes blood red and dark gold! Vigorous exercise, sexual passion and pursuit, sports competitions, and "alpha" dominating roles make Kuja happy.

  • Kuja = arya, pioneering, forward movement, muscular physique, first-arrival, winning, championship, dominance.

  • Mangala likes movement, teenage and young-adult males, brothers, competitors! Consider offering Seva to benefit military soldiers or support young men's physical interests such as sports clubs.

for all nativities, development of muscular strength and agility and awareness of the body's power to reverse-influence the mind = very suitable offerings to Lord Mangala.

Killer Bhukti Periods

Mangala_RosaNegraBaccara.jpg

According to BPHS there can be only four marana-karaka (makara) "killer" bhukti lords during the Mangala Mahadasha.

Growth challenges (difficult at first, better with experience, good results overall) during the bhukti periods of any graha which are located in:
  • 6th-from the bhava occupied by Kuja

  • 8th-from the bhava occupied by Kuja

  • 12th-from the bhava occupied by Kuja

Das comments = when " Jupiter conjoins Mars or Jupiter is aspected by Mars or Mars is aspected by Jupiter."

"Mars' Dasha will be very fortunate and Jupiter's Dasha will be ordinary.

Mangala Mahadasha + Mangala bhukti
  • swabhukti

  • duration of the bhukti: 5 months

  • graha pakvata: Mangala periods yield improved results after age 28 = the age of maturity for Kuja

What to Expect? Evaluate the placements of Mangala.

Consider the rashi + bhava owned and occupied + the angle from the mahadasha-pathi to the bhukti-pati + age of the native (has the graha matured?) + incoming and outgoing graha-drishti + current transits.

  12. Mangala in bhava-12
The Kuja-Kuja swabhukti = the brief but fiery burst of energy which serves as the "opening bell" to Mangala's vigorous, forward-moving, and competitive Vimshottari Dasha.

Predict the agents and environments of the 7-year Mangala Mahadasha via the placements of Mangala in the kundali.

Social-material effects from the D-1 primarily; psycho-emotional effects (including relationship experiences) from the D-9 primarily.

Typically the action during swabhukti is emotionally energized due to the Dasha Sandhi overlap from the previous Chandra Mahadasha - also physical, immediate, and direct. Exceptions are Kuja-neechcha (passive aggressive) Kuja + Shani (repressed anger) and Kuja-12 (activates links to other worlds).

Mangala Mahadasha + Rahu bhukti
  • duration of the bhukti: 13 months

  • graha pakvata: Rahu periods yield improved results after age 48 = the age of maturity for Rahu

What to expect from a Rahu period? Evaluate the placements of Rahu.

Consider the rashi + bhava owned and occupied + the angle from the mahadasha-pathi to the bhukti-pati + age of the native (has the graha matured?) + incoming and outgoing graha-drishti + current transits.

Now, consider each of these factors again with reference to Rahu's lord. Rahu gives the effects of His occupied bhava AND the bhava which are ruled by His lord.

  12. Rahu in Meena

During the Kuja mahadasha one wants to be dynamically active and moving forward at all times. Mangala wants to be brotherly, combative, and sexual.

Kuja-Rahu period will bring Rahu-agents (usually competitors) who promise vitally sexualized or vigorously sporting lifestyles focused on pursuit of the prize. One may indeed self-elevate into the higher rank and its privileges while in company of the Rahu agent(s).

However toward the end of the Rahu bhukti it may become more obvious that most of the Rahu agent's claims are instinct-mirroring mimicry.

Rahu is energetic and fleshly but typically fraudulent.

Mangala Mahadasha + Guru bhukti

What to Expect? Evaluate the placements of Guru.

Consider the rashi + bhava owned and occupied + the angle from the mahadasha-pathi to the bhukti-pati + age of the native (has the graha matured?) + incoming and outgoing graha-drishti + current transits.

The Final Bhukti brings end-of-cycle, conclusion, closure.

Chidra-dasha, the final few months of "cutting" (chid = cut), may sever attachment to completed, outdated behaviors so that one may move forward upon the spiritual path.

"chid" from Koeln Sanskrit dictionary

chid (chedi)

IE cognate Latin 'scindo' (rescind)

  • to cut off, amputate, cut through, hew, chop, split, pierce

  • to divide, separate from

  • to destroy, annihilate, efface, blot out

  • Passive = to be split or cut, break; to cause to cut off or through cutting, cutting off, cutting through

Dasha Sandhi

The dasha sandhi "gear shift" transition zone between the end of Budha mahadasha and the beginning of Rahu Mahadasha lasts for approximately 2.5 years.

The final year of Mangala-Chandra bhukti is powerfully influenced by Rahu, and Rahu's "creep" into Chandra's emotionally grounded, stable regime can be even more noticeable if there happens to occur a simultaneous transit of gochara Rahu-Ketu during the dasha sandhi year.

Although much depends upon Rahu's lord and Rahu's bhava, the final year of Kuja-Chandra bhukti is often characterized by sudden uprising of ambition linked to the bhava of Rahu. Since Rahu the Disrupter is a fierce enemy of Stability-Seeking Chandra, the period may feel strangely unsettled with only a minimal sense of closure.

Despite the final-bhukti closure significations of Mangala-Chandra period, sexual-emotional (Kuja-Chandra) relationships are difficult to complete because Rahu may re-instigate attachments in the hope of using them for His own instrumental purposes.

The next 18 years of Rahu Mahadasha will generally prove to be exciting and ambitious for achievements, albeit potentially a bit reckless or over-reaching.
