Dr. Chopra is certainly possessed of his
own poetic talents.
In addition, payment that supports his livelihood comes
largely from women, from those interested in luxury, beauty, and pleasure; in
royal association, and in living well.
Shukra occupies Vrischika (endocrine
system) + Ketu in radix, and Shukra occupies Kanya (fear of unattractiveness)
in navamsha. These specialties fund the professional support.

Emotionally, Chopra wants to communicate.

Guru (values, wealth) and fallen L-7 Surya (relationships,
advising).

All this operates through the dharma house, so the context
of his service is always religious and spiritual tradition. His
persona and his motive are priestly.
L-12 in bhava-6
When L-12 goes into the house of argumentation, conflict, victims and the
underclass, then one loses one's ability to negotiate conflicts. There
may follow some desperate actions which are perceived to be
"options of last resort" in order to "solve the
problem" of the impending loss of personal identity, caused (it is
perceived) by enemies, by disease, or by debt.
Thus the opportunity for unintended criminal
consequences of rather confused (12) actions, those actions being
ultimately manipulated by the spirits on the astral plane (mainly
ancestor spirits) who speak in the dream voice.
If L-12 is an aggressive graha, the result could
be violent. But generally the result is somewhat diffused.
E.g.,

for Richard Nixon, that graha is Chandra -
Nixon had lifelong emotional problems with suspiciousness and
feeling victimized, which got the better of him during the Watergate
break-in.

For
Krishnamurti, that graha was Guru. The threat to his identity came
from a religious group, and he fended off the threat by breaking his
promise to lead the group.

For Deepak
Chopra M.D., that graha is Shani in a friendly Rashi. The threat to
identity is rigid, herd-mentality convention in the practice of
professional medicine. Chopra cast off that threat by breaking through the
oppressive limitations of conventional western medicine and introducing
Ayurvedic longevity concepts into the western repertory. In his case Shani
is extra-strong as lagnesha, so the results while stressful to the native
were ultimately beneficial to society.
Surya ;
10th-from-Surya - ego identification

the ego-intelligence (Ravi) = identified with preaching and the guru role, as it
would be for anyone with Ravi in radix-9, in any rashi. Surya in 9
wants to promote a particular tradition and particular way of life,
according to their training. Not good for the native's father but
paternal behavior is extended to the students and the audience.
