Renowned physicist, poet, theorist, & visionary.
Einstein's scientific, philosophical, and ethical-political thinking helped awaken the much-awaited New Age. A very public figure with a very private personality, Albert Einstein had his share of family problems.
He was politically active and outspoken on matters of nuclear war (against) and independent Israel (for). His leadership in the movement to lay a completely new conceptual foundation for modern science has earned him the Man of the [20th] Century title.
Yet he was considered autistic and possibly developmentally delayed as a child; he did not speak clearly until the age of nine. He was not a distinguished student, and he did not properly attribute his sources within academic writings. Einstein was apparently a very holistic thinker.
Prominent features of the Nativity
Albert Einstein's neechcha Budha obtains neechcha bhanga and gives marvelous results. Budha satisfies two dosha-reversal [neechcha bhanga] conditions:
Budha occupies domain-10 (the strongest kendra)
L-10 Guru, in domain-9, becomes very strong through parivartamsha yoga with Shani in domain-10
Lagnesha Neechcha Bhanga Budha allows the native to discuss extremely abstract and dreamlike topics in a public, leadership, high-prestige fashion (domain-10).
The neechcha qualities of neechcha bhanga Budha however don't go away! Rather, the neechcha-bhanga native will find a socially-validated application for the otherwise 'dysfunctional' behaviors associated with a neechcha graha.
In youth, Einstein was (what would these days be called) a "spatial learner". Unfortunately, in the late 1800's in Germany, he was caught in a strictly linear, repetitive-drill educational system. He was considered rather witless. His speech was delayed and (like most genius-scholars) he probably express (what would these days be called) autistic behaviors.
Yet he blossomed when he discovered physics - a highly spatial subject wherein his incredible imagination (Budha-Meena) could roam the multi-dimensional cosmos. He was not introduced to academic physics until his teens. Presumably his early educational years might have been a quite frustrating time for him, his parents, and his teachers.
Even in adulthood, Einstein (esp. in later years) was famous for getting lost & needing "adult supervision" on many daily life tasks.
Yet, with two powerful cancellations, these "spacey" traits were socially received as an iconic brilliance of mystical-scientific apprehension. Einstein's "autistic" lack of attention to important social details like attribution (he almost never credited those who helped or inspired him) and his abandonment of his own children (he ignored them) were largely overlooked.
Arudha of Karma Bhava - "Karmaa Pada"
public imagery or associations = Rahu-amplified uchcha Kuja in randhra bhava (mystery and magic)
Einstein's published work is understood by historians of science to be a cumulative expression of numerous minds doing advanced research in theoretical physics during Einstein's era.
However, in popular imagination, Einstein is known as the Mysterious Shaman (8) on the cover of TIME magazine, who single-handedly transformed western understanding of the core structure of physical reality.
The public illusion - Arudha - ignores several preceding decades of scientific experimentation and discussion. It perceives only an act of pure magic -- if Mr. Albert suddenly pulled a rabbit from a hat!
Karma Pada is powerful in this nativity.
Drishti to the L-10, Guru:
no planetary drishti to L-10 Guru
no planetary drishti to karma bhava
upon 10th-from-Chandra: drishti of Rahu-amplified uchcha Kuja
upon 10th-from-Chandra: drishti of L-10 Guru [strong relationship between the material career and the emotional orientation to career.]
Radix parivartamsha yoga of L-7/L-10 Guru + L-8/L-9 Shani = a broad base of advice-giving professional partnerships (7) and dignified public positions (10) supports the exchange of secret or confidential information (8) while ensuring reasonably sold religious and ethical awareness (9).
Shani owns the majority of houses in the nativity. The native enjoyed a lifelong tolerance for large rule-bound systems
The miracle of Einstein's nativity is not that he was able to access some basic tantric information about matter-energy dynamics. These occult "secrets" have long been known in the lineages. The amazing genius was Einstein's ability to be in the right place at the right time with a tremendous tolerance for the common materialistic ("scientific") mind. He expressed the domain-8 "secret" information in a common, accessible language perfectly targeted to the developmental needs of the greater civilization at that time. The ability to package a great truth in a broadly accessible format is a gift of convention-respecting, protocol-abiding, public-knowledge Shani.
Uchcha Shani in navamsha also obtains parivartamsha yoga with Shukra in D-9. The additional support from navamsha enormously strengthens the L-8/L9 functions of Shani in radix.
Domain-8 becomes the strongest house in the nativity due to strength of Lord Shani and tenancy of uchcha Kuja + Rahu in domain-8.
Uchcha Kuja + Rahu = getting one's Exotic (Rahu) ideas into competitive (Kuja) action. Male-energized pursuit of development of tantric secrets: describing the movement of prana from energy state into mass state and back (in perpetuity).
In domain-8 of tantric, secret, occult information, the commercially dominant pairing of uchcha Kuja + Rahu suggests that Einstein had a very pro-active and professionalized approach to "unknowable" matters of cosmology. L-11 in domain-8 causes him to earn much less money as a visionary professor and theorist than if he had applied his ideas commercially.
Lord of career-karaka = navamsha of radix L-10 Guru = Kuja
Guru = breadth of vision and compassion = universal, philosophical religious sensibility; teacher of conceptual thought.
Guru = lord of Arudha lagna, lord of 10th navamsha = public association with great wisdom and knowledge
L-5 uchcha Shukra & L-9 empowered Shani = very good for career, and contribute powerfully to his public reputation as a gentle man who loved creative imagination and pure religion.
But matters of children have been overwhelmed by other concerns. Einstein received rather low marks as a father. This may be a case of karako bhavo nashto, where Guru overwhelms house-9.
Young Albert may well have received insufficient fathering due to this unfavorable radix Kumbha Guru. His own father had many business troubles.
Neechcha Chandra = private family life significant stress & conflict. L-2 Chandra = lord of "family of origin" domain-2, located in domain-6 of imbalance and conflict. Einstein's family problems are well known.
Add stress from Ketu in domain-2, suggesting a fundamental disconnection from family life.
Death in period of Rahu/L-2 Chandra
Uchcha L-5/L-12 Shukra = politics & children from L-5; imagination & vision from L-12. Also many journeys to foreign lands, beginning as a young man.
Shukra has a beautifying effect on Einstein's communications and appearance (Budha); his collaborative work in professional conferences and through publication of scholarly articles & letter-writing (Surya); and also upon his professorship and career (Shani).
Uchcha Shukra = an accomplished musician and also a bit of a fashion model. Like most folks with Shukra yuti Surya, Einstein was charmingly handsome in his own unique way. His innocently rakish fashion sense captivated the public. He was photographed extensively in later years (Shani for age, influencing Shukra for beauty). His image remains the most recognizable icon for " genius" in the West.
Chandra/Mangala period:
In late 1922 Einstein entered Chandra/Mangala period. His Mangala is uchcha with Rahu in domain-8. In Dec-1922, Einstein won the Nobel Prize for Physics, certainly a great honor and consistent with the uchcha lord of the 11th house of goals. (Top Ph.D.'s agree that after finishing the doctorate and perhaps starting a family, there is only on big goal remaining: to win the Nobel Prize.) Mangala is lord of Chandra which grants the period plenty of superlative energy.
However Mangala lord of 6th-from-Chandra is also the lord of the emotional disappointment aspect of divorce. And Mangala occupies domain-8, much emphasizing the signification of the spouse's money. Therefore, during the period of L-6 from Chandra, Einstein gave his entire prize money (a substantial earning) to his ex-wife. He did not retain even one kroner.
While a highly noble action, considering that he had abandoned his wife to raise two sons alone, one of those sons schizophrenic and in need of constant medical care, nevertheless the loss of all expected monies (6 = poverty) must have been experienced as some considerable disappointment.
Primary career indicators
Career framed as:
academic (9-10) and disruptive (8, Rahu)
but overall pointing to high levels of public recognition through sustained, structured service (Shani) as a knowledge transmitter (Guru) within the large organizations:
national governments (Shani-Budha)
universities and priestly-professorial scientific research groups (Guru-Shani)
military (Kuja-Rahu)
Lord of the navamsha of Radix L-10 = uchcha Kuja + Rahu
The radix L-10 = Guru, and Guru's navamsha = Vrischika. L-6/L-11 Kuja = uchcha AND an upachaya lord AND yuti Rahu! Good outcome eventually but the career starts out poor or obscure, and professional service requires considerable time to give favorable fruit. Kuja
Kuja
Navamsha L-10 Guru.
Guru enjoys parivartamsha with Shani in radix. Guru is the significator of professors and priests. Through the parivartamsha, Brihaspati obtains great strength in the 9-10 dharma-karma Kumbha (science) Meena (imagination) houses. Result is leadership service (10) in the role of a very great teacher of conceptual science.
Guru
Lord of Dashamsha = L-8/L-9 Shani
L-8/L-9 Shani has parivartamsha with L-7/L-10 career lord Guru. Shani's tenants include uchcha Kuja, an unfailing indicator of success in one's work, and Kuja is yuti Rahu indicating a revolutionary or boundary-breaking line of work, associated with transformation or catastrophic change.
Shani
Secondary career indicators
Karmaa Bhava contains:
L-1/L-4 Budha (personality and homeland);
L-5/L-12 uchcha Shukra (creativity and imagination, foreign lands);
L-8/L-9 Shani (secret knowledge and moral wisdom);
L-3 Surya (writing, group communications).
Even without the parivartamsha of L-7/L-10 Guru with the L-8/L-9 Shani, this is a huge amount of psychic energy loaded into the house of public recognition and leaderships service.
L-10 = the Devapati, while Guru's navamsha lord is the exalted Kuja, see details above
Guru
Yuvati bhava (10th-from-10th) = unoccupied
L-7 Guru = great auspice through the parivartamsha, see above
Guru
10th-from-Chandra = L-3 Surya = group communications, writing, short-term business travel, publications. Surya is very strong in Meena and in domain-10.
Surya
Surya = L-3 and Lord of 10th-from-Chandra, in the strongest Kendra and in the rashi of friend Guru. Highly auspicious for publications which promote the mental narrative. The native becomes extremely well known through his ability to publish his thoughts in written documents.
Guru
lagnesha = L-1/L-10 Budha. Budha is always a favorable graha for Mithuna lagna, but Budha becomes a truly extraordinary karaka for public success due to the presence of uchcha Shukra in Budha's house while Budha occupies the strongest kendra.
Budha
Arudha of Karma Bhava = domain-5, Thula
Arudha of Karma Bhava shows the public perception of one's leadership dignity, ability to uphold and reinforce the cultural norms of one's people, and the perceived value of one's contribution to society.
Lord = uchcha Shukra in domain-10. Shukra shares super-high social valuation with Shani, the neechcha bhanga Budha, L-3 Surya, and also by parivartamsha with the L-10 Guru. Naturally this native's public image is extremely famous and well-loved.
(The public image may be accurate or it may be a delusion, the arudha of domain-10 is not an assessment of measurable social value but only a reading of the public's notoriously fickle view of the native's glamour and/or authentic social importance.)
Shani
Karakamsha = Kumbha/9 = science & religion = cultural paradigms = philosophical-conceptual science
Karmaa Bhava [10th-from-radix-lagna]
L-10 & Aspects to L-10 - leadership roles and responsibilities
House-10 for public visibility = strong and busy, containing L-1, L-3, L-4, L-5, L-8, L-9, and L-12:
L-5/L-12 uchcha Shukra
L-1/L-4 Neechcha-bhanga Budha
L-8/L-9 Shani
L-3 Surya
The lords of seven houses combine to powerfully project Einstein's personality onto the public consciousness, creating a formidable career in the field of structured visionary thinking.
Einstein was a "whole brain" thinker who enjoyed equal & complementary portions of rational articulation & intuitive insight. As such he provided the leading role model for post-positivistic "new age" integrated intuitive-rational thought.
L-7/L-10 Guru occupies the auspicious dharma bhava. Guru enjoys an enormously strengthening Parivartamsha with his neutral companion L-8/L-9 Shani. When L-9 has parivartamsha with L-10 we might expect a religious & political authority.
Einstein's scientific theories and his political beliefs were widely followed. His scholarly views not only gained almost complete hegemony in the academic world, but also his political views gained wide credence.
Einstein was invited to become the second leader of modern Israel. (He declined).
Mantreswara's Phaladeepika says that the method of earning a living is determined by the navamsha sign occupied by radix L-10.
In this nativity,
radix L-10 = Guru.
Guru occupies a navamsha of Kuja.
In any nativity, if the lord of the10th house is situated in Mars' Navamsha,
the person shall earn a living through metals, serving for fighting, battles, cooking, lands, gold, causing troubles to others, weapons, adventure, association with wicked men, spying, or through theft."
~~ Phaladeepika - Chapter 5, Shloka 4
One summer, Albert Einstein did work as a cook at Cal-Tech's university cafeteria, in order to support himself.
This designation of livlihood through the auspice of Kuja seems unlikely unless the military funding that generally underwrites scientific research in physics and mathematics is revealed.
Keep in mind Einstein's uchcha Kuja (commercial business acumen) + Rahu (risks) in domain-8 of secret information.
Einstein was an avowed pacifist. Yet his theoretical work was indeed appropriated to violent causes (e.g., nuclear fusion bombs, e.g., Hiroshima). He was also deeply involved in the early armament of the fledgling state of Israel.
Keep in mind Ketu in domain-2, is associated with incoherent speech. The native may speak idealistically, in a rather vague representation of one's core values, without much commitment to material enforcement of those beliefs (Ketu). Behari says of Ketu in 2nd pada of Pushya, "You will need to be cautious of bad association..."
Military funding for scientific research within the universities and scholarly institutes may not always be apparent to the researcher, but a bit of detective work will often uncover this archeological fact.
Einstein's salary as a theoretical physicist, when he worked for various think-tanks, could be said to always indirectly have been paid by military interests. He lived in a century of tremendous militarization.
In order to change the L-10 from Guru (lord of Meena) the birth time needs to move forward nearly one hour to get Mesha on the 10th radix, or backward more than one hour to get Kumbha on the 10th radix. A rectification of an hour is unsupportable, at least in part because that would cause the spectacular cluster of Meena graha to move out of domain-10, thus eliminating the signification of worldwide fame for poetic insight, artistic design, and brilliant articulation of those through the neechcha bhanga Budha.
Therefore we may need to accept the interpretation that Einstein's source of livelihood was, in reality, the monies paid into the university and scholarly institute systems by the military machine, and also the same setup for the seemingly innocuous government patent office and other bureaucratic salaries.
Lagnesha - location of life force, natural sphere of action= Budha
Neechcha Budha = what Budha has to say will be very peculiar and difficult to express.
What the native has to say will often be considered downright wrong, and it may be viciously criticized at times due to the impact of Shani who oppresses Budha in both radix & navamsha.
Yet Budha is fully rescued by world-class compensations. Budha occupies a kendra, in company of uchcha Shukra. His lord Guru has parivartana with Budha's senior companion L-9 Shani. These corrections yield a complete neechcha bhanga.
Einstein may have had some interpretive-communicative disability within the Autism Spectrum (which is often not felt as a disability by those who have it).
He is reported to have not spoken complete sentences until the age of nine. Initially his parents & schoolmasters thought he was not very bright.
Yuvati bhava = Arudha lagna = 10th-from-10th - day-to-day interactions, marriage, daily reality = Guru
Although yuvati bhava itself is an empty bhava, L-7/L-10 Guru is vigorously active in career through parivartana yoga of L-7/L-10 Guru with L-9/L-10 Shani.
L-7 Guru in domain-9, a house of advanced intellectual scholarship, shows that most of Einstein's peer relationships were based in the world of international knowledge-temples: the universities and research centers.
Guru's nature in Kumbha is detached, scientifically objective, & very conceptual. Not an emotionally warm position for Guru but on the positive side friendly and energized to form a good network of like-minded associates.
The nature of Einstein's day-to-day relationships is mirrored in his first marriage to a female mathematician and physicist, Mileva Marich.
For all men, the first wife is indicated by Shukra. For Albert Einstein, Shukra is a complex and influential graha. (Note Shukra's strength in Shad Bala.)
Academic research into the nature of Einstein's first marriage is contradictory, and unfortunately laden with sexist presumption that Einstein's wife was necessarily a limited intellectual and communicative influence upon his celebrated early career. However, the qualities of uchcha Shukra within Einstein's Jyotisha nativity would suggest otherwise.
Atmakaraka uchcha Shukra = L-5/L-12 in radix. Shukra occupies kendra-10 and 5th-from-Chandra, two highly positive locations regarding career. And Shukra's influence is ultimately what makes possible the extraordinary neechcha bhanga received by Budha.
Behari says of Shukra/Meena/10:
"You are dedicated to a cause which is impersonal and which requires the relinquishment of personal comforts. You will not be drawn to sensual pleasures, but will be motivated by the desire to bring to blessings to humanity."
It looks from Einstein's Jyotisha nativity as if his first wife Mileva was an exceptionally positive and career-advancing influence upon him and further that her role was predominantly as a shaper and formulator of his mind at the most basic visionary level - i.e., that she was his Muse, and she essentially gave or evoked from him the fundamental cosmic framework which made his work internationally famous.
As the uchcha Atmakaraka L-5, Shukra evokes the divine intelligence and exalted speculative gamesmanship. In the uchcha Atmakaraka L-12 role. Shukra is internationalizing, and the daityaguru will evoke a the dream-like artistic imagination, which reveals subtle psychic connections between things which may not be known to the narrower rational intelligence.
Shukra in Einstein's nativity suggests a dominantly intuitive quality of the creative perceptual intelligence which was powerfully expressed through the personality of the first wife. No wonder Einstein's Nobel Prize money was given directly to Mileva!
Emotional bond: Shukra vis-à-vis Chandra:
The first marriage emotional profile is not so beneficial.
Shukra is lord of Thula the 12th-from-Vrischika-Chandra, which indicates emotional dissociation, foreignness, and Einstein's dissolution (12) of emotional identity (Chandra) with the first spouse and also with the children from the first marriage.
Also Shukra is lord of the 7th-from-Chandra, which indicates the other side of the marriage: an extremely strong emotional bond between equals.
Firstly, Shukra's location in 5th-from-Chandra indicates dramatic outcome regarding children.
L-5 Shukra + L-9 Shani brings children; Mileva was the mother of three children with Albert Einstein.
Complexities of the children including death or loss of the first child born out of wedlock Lisserl and schizophrenia in the third child Eduard are shown through the extremely complex interplay of the L-5 Shukra - L-9 Shani with the L-1, L-3, L-4, L-7, L-8, L-10, and L-12.
Einstein abandoned his own children with Mileva (domain-5 = 12th-from-neechcha Chandra) but accepted full parenting responsibility for the children of his second wife (Chandra in domain-6, 5th-from-2nd-marriage).
Marriage-2= Shani
For a male nativity, the second (and subsequent) wives are indicated by graha which associate with Shukra. The first line of analysis for multiple marriages should assess the degree order of graha with Shukra.
Shukra is the Atmakaraka, followed in degree order by Shani, then Budha, then Surya. Naturally all of the graha sharing a house with Shukra and dominated in degree by Shukra will interact, but the leader of the second-marriage indicators by degree order, would be Shani.
Shani is sober and practical. The second wife will be a bit more traditional in behavior and more protectively structured in lifestyle than the first wife perhaps, but Shani is not old and cranky.
Shani is quite dominated by the lovely artistic uchcha Shukra, and Shani also provides the results of lower-degree Meena graha e.g. the youthful, sibling-like Budha and L-3 sibling Surya. The relationship is friendly rather than inspirational (compared to the first marriage which for all its stress would have been extremely inspired).
The second spouse is attractive but conventional. She conforms to the cultural norms of the native's upbringing. (Since A. Einstein's second wife was the child of Albert's mother's sister, their cultural background would have been extremely similar.)
L-3 effects:
L-8/L-9 Shani in the professional recognition house karma bhava also rules L-3/L-4 from Chandra. Furthermore Shani is with L-3 Surya. Einstein's second wife was also his first cousin and childhood playmate, Elsa Einstein (L-3 cousins.)
Behari says of Shani/Meena/10:
"Even Saturn is radically transformed under the influence of Pisces: it makes you a great philanthropist, but you suffer from some canker in your heart, arising from an unknown or mysterious cause."
The second wife died a very painful death, from a mysterious heart and kidney ailment.
Emotional bond: Shani vis-à-vis Chandra:
L-3/L-4 from Chandra, Shani gives sibling-level familiarity and collaboration, and a shared home culture.
A friendly, conversational, and secure emotional relationship, emphasis much less on passion and much more on stability in the home.
Material conditions affecting marriage
L-7 Brihaspati frames the social and material conditions of the first marriage.
Guru in the professorial-priestly domain-9, governing temples of wisdom, indicates that the primary orientation of marriage is development and transmission of philosophical thought.
The first marriage union produced three children and - possibly also - Einstein's most seminal, career-defining papers on on Brownian motion, the photoelectric effect, and special relativity.
Marriage in particular is affected by Ketu in navamsha-7, which represents both emotional distancing on the part of the spouse, and also a detailed, mapping style of intuitive perception in conceptual mathematics. Such a perception might be called "intuitive computation" - the ability to account for a massive amount of detail in a single timless perception.
Ketu in the D-9's marriage house indicates emotional and cultural distance, often a "culture gap". With Ketu, the partners can see each other socio-physically but never fully connect psycho-emotionally.
Einstein's most intimate first marriage partnership reflected the structure of all of his cooperative relationships. It was characterized by a certain permanent emotional distance combined with intense abstraction (Ketu).
L-2 neechcha Chandra frames the second marriage.
Ketu also occupies the 2nd rashi, showing a "knowledge disjunct" between the two partners in the 2nd marriage as well. Regarding Ketu's signification for money, the big money was gone after the first marriage. (Albert's Nobel Prize award had been given to his first wife as a divorce settlement, L-2 Chandra in domain-6 of divorce from 1st marriage).
But also the second wife was not an intellectual and she was not concerned, in her karmic role as the second wife, with helping to develop Einstein's perceptual framework. She contributed dignity and stability which allowed him to continue on conceptually by himself.
Chandra of course represents the mother, and Chandra is badly fallen in domain-6, the house of the loss of marriage agreement. The mother is implicated in two ways. First of all, the mother disliked his first wife as a cultural inferior, and most likely militated for Albert's divorce.
Secondly, Albert's next marriage was consummated with his cousin (the child of his mother's sister). The relationship with his cousin who would eventually become his second wife had been initiated seven years before Albert's divorce from his first wife, and two years even before the official separation. Chandra, representing a distressed and alienated mother, is certainly an agent of the dissolution of marriage when Soma is neechcha and in Ripu Bhava, the house of enemies.
L-2 Chandra also occupies 5th-from-2nd, suggesting an intensely involved but volatile emotional bond between Albert and his stepdaughters from his second marriage.
10th-from-Chandra - psycho-emotional true service = Surya = publications, writing
10th-from-Chandra = Simha. L-3 Surya = first and foremost, ego identification.
At the level of material expression, domain-3 = writing, conference presentations, small networks of sibling-like associations, teamwork, and small-group collaboration. Einstein's emotional call to service was first and foremost as a communicator. His true service was as a writer. Writing by hand, domain-3 (for both published journal articles and interpersonal letter-writing) was the strongest media vehicle for the dissemination of ideas in his era.
Einstein's writings communicated not only his independent thought (if there is, at high levels of intellectual inquiry, any such thing as independent thought!) but also the results of collaborative (domain-3) inquiry amongst the international scientific theorists of his day.
Einstein's constant communication through writings & verbal presentations at scientific conferences is also represented by the prominent career marker L-1/L-4 Neechcha Budha in radix-10 This is the type of confirmation we like to see in a Jyotisha chart: several leading indicators pointed at the same target!
Einstein was possessed of the mental skills & the communicative acumen to move a new cosmological paradigm into public consciousness. This movement of the Zeitgeist of the incipient new age into the public mind, is how Lord-of-10th-from-Chandra - L-3 Surya- manifests Einstein's true service: small-group communication.
Because 10th-from-Chandra = Surya's house, Einstein was blessed with a psycho-emotional drive to express himself in a subject area & style which was also publicly recognized (Surya).
Unlike obscure scholars who may live & die as unrecognized, socially isolated geniuses, Einstein benefited socially from a lovely Sun-10th-from-Moon yoga that brought his role as "agent of the Zeitgeist" into the public eye.
Einstein enjoyed the ego-confirmation of consciously participating in broad, visionary social & intellectual movements: the essence of Surya/Meena, in 10. This is a great set-up.
Dashamsha - D-10 varga for career
Einstein's time of birth is somewhat generalized -- but it is reasonable in retrospect to interpret Shani as the putative lord of D-10.
Shani is a sober, slow, and structured graha who will give good results as lord of the dashamsha, evoking the contents of Shani's owned houses both from Radix (L-8/L-9) and from Chandra (L-3 [publications] and L-4 [patriotism/homeland, esp. his relationship to Israel.]
Several of the graha in D-10 are distinctively strong, including the career-influential L-3 Surya who occupies Vrischika Dashamsha, and swakshetra Guru (a major career graha in D-1) who is in dashamsha also lord of disruptive, controlled-explosion Rahu.
Guru-Rahu in dashamsha confirms and expands the Kuja-Rahu connection in radix:
Einstein's public notoriety comes much less from his paradigm-breaking conceptual science and much more from his work on the development of nuclear weapons.
Arudha of Karma Bhava - "Karmaa Pada" - public imagery or associations = uchcha Kuja in domain-8.
L-10 Guru occupies domain-9 = 12th-from-10th
arudha of house-10 = 12th-from Guru = uchcha Kuja = house-8.
Uchcha Kuja amplified by Rahu shows a highly exaggerated social image for his work, for good & for evil. Rahu gives association with catastrophe (Einstein as WWII refugee, nuclear war) and outsiders (Zionism, US civil rights) .
Villainized = Rahu
At times in Einstein's career, his work was controversial. He was accused of appropriating other's ideas when he was, in all probability, clarifying and better formulating concepts that were partially developed by others.
He was villainized by the Nazi regime as a perpetrator of "Jewish physics" which was propagandized as an anti-Aryan intellectual disease. His politics were also highly controversial, including passionate Zionism, pacifism, and his involvement in the US Civil Rights movement. Rahu magnifies whatever it touches!
Sanctified = Rahu
At times, Einstein was probably over-praised. This is also roller-coaster Rahu. Due to his physical attractiveness (uchcha Shukra + Surya) & charm (neechcha bhanga Budha), Einstein was cast as a public icon representing the "genius mystery-revealer". In reality, he was a participant in a broad scientific movement to re-conceptualize modern physics.
Many of the ideas he articulated had been long-incubated in the international think-tank composed of dozens of highly committed theoretical physicists. In the terrible stress of the war and the confusion of world reorganization afterward, Einstein's persona was projected into a desperately needed symbol of brilliant problem-solving grounded in both spiritual intuition and pure reason.
Shukra/Rahu period, where Rahu enormously amplifies the power of the arudha of house-10 for career & public dignity, created Einstein's "annus mirabilis" = 1905. That year he published four short, seminal papers that catapulted him from the obscurity of a Swiss patent office into international scientific fame (Shukra=L-5).
However in the end, the dignity of uchcha Kuja, a graha of positive social achievement and individual success through skillful competition, rules Einstein's public reputation.
Einstein's memory is generally celebrated as an exemplary expression of genius. By the end of his career Einstein had become a legendary figure.
He was seen as a mystical hero, who plumbed the depths of the unknown (house-8, taboo secrets) to discover a view of the universe which changed the modern world forever.
Death
18 April 1955, in the period of maraka L-2 Chandra.
Einstein died without human company, in a hospital room in New Jersey.
11. Vanchana Chora Bheethi Yoga
Definition.—
The Lagna is occupied by a malefic with Gulika in a trine
or Gulika is associated with the lords of Kendras & Thrikonas
or the lord of Lagna is combined with Rahu, Saturn or Kethu.
Results.—The native will always entertain feelings of suspicion towards others around him.
He is afraid of being cheated, swindled and robbed.
Here three sets of combinations can apply:
ascendant must have an evil planet with Gulika disposed in the 5th or 9th.
Gulika should be associated with the lords of 1, 4, 7, 10, 5 and 9.
Lord of Lagna should join Rahu or Saturn or Kethu.
In all these cases, the person will not only have fears from cheats, rogues and thieves but he will also have huge material losses.
The combinations pertaining to this Yoga are found in almost all horoscopes, so that we are all guilty of cheating and being cheated one another in some form or the other.
It is a tragedy of our social life that a merchant minting millions at the cost of the poor is left scot-free while the poor, committing theft in the face of poverty and want, are booked by law.
Cheating is practiced in a variety of ways. Fertile brains find countless methods to cheat their associates. The merchants have various ways of cheating their clients. The lawyer is equally successful. The medical man commands many ways to defraud his patients.
Gulika is considered the son of Saturn and his position is to be carefully fixed in the Zodiac. The Yoga given above refers to persons who will be the victims of fraud but the same combination can also be extended to apply to those who perpetrate the deeds.
