When Surya Mahadasha came, there was a tremendous growth in intelligence, and in class academics, I rose from low order to middle order and remained till 1996, may. I started learning on my own and my batch mates in Institute acknowledged that I had some knowledge, in 2002 August i qualified the M.Tech programme, and left for Mumbai, very far from Lucknow.

In Mid 2006 July, I managed to get a small theatre group in Mumbai where i learnt acting first time, I read a lot from books of acting and in Dec 2006, i did a professional acting workshop, after that things have stopped once again, there were tensions at home in mar 2007, due to my elder sister marriage, and now i am in Bangalore, South India from July 2007, here i have done Software Testing course and i got rewarded with certificate not given to all, but i haven't managed to get job. 

My desire to be an actor, and be famous in life has sidelined due to family pressures and turmoil. Now i am looking forward for job and marriage. Well it is much as you have stated, that the graha who owns the highest rashi degree will dominate other grahas in the rashi, and enforce its agenda upon them. The graha which obtains the highest longitude in radix is called by Sage Jaimini the atmakaraka. The atmakaraka shows the maximum spiritual achievement of the native, and it has the power to dominate the entire radix for good or for evil. If the atmakaraka is well disposed it can bring extraordinary earthly wealth but in an unfortunate rashi or navamsha the atmakaraka can advance the spiritual progress through creating apparent material misfortune. 

In your case the atmakaraka is either Kuja or Rahu (some Jyotishi allow Rahu as atmakaraka; others don't). My own preference precludes Rahu. Therefore Kuja has highest destiny empowerment, and this is further argument for intentional strengthening of the yogakaraka L-4/L-9.

Mainly for purposes of predicting the effects of Vimshottari periods, one should expect that a graha which is dominated by a higher-degree planet in will, during its period, give the result not only of the bhukti-pati itself but also of that higher-longitude graha. In your case the mahadashas of Surya & Budha are always influenced by Kuja, and sub-periods of Kuja will be empowered.

It is not so clear with Shani vis-à-vis Rahu because Rahu gains strength by always going backwards. We can say best that  periods of Shani/Rahu or Rahu/Shani will be particularly conflicted and challenging, bringing much ethical political struggle along with fame or notoriety at a somewhat high personal price of being temporarily ostracized or defamed. Effect of Rahu mahadasha on the Career, esp. Fame

In general, Rahu will give the result of His lord Surya and also the result of His co-tenant Shani. Furthermore Rahu occupies Dhanau navamsha and Shukra dashamsha, which means that the radix characteristics of Guru and Shukra are evoked in terms of marriage partnership (D-9) and career (D-10) during Rahu's Vimshottari mahadasha.

In general Rahu mahadasha does favor the career & public life. Each bhukti must be evaluated separately, by looking at the angle between Rahu & each bhuktipat. For example, Rahu-Guru at a 2/12 angle will signify material loss (likely also spiritual gain); whereas, Rahu/Surya, Rahu/Kuja, and Rahu/Budha are all highly favorable at a 5/9 angle. Rahu/Surya is especially famous & charismatic. 

It would be a very long analysis to describe each of these angles in detail, but in general it should be straightforward to see that:

  •  bhukti lords who occupy favorable angles start off in an advantageous position; 

then to develop the full profile of each bhukti.add other favorable characteristics such as:

Conflict: Rahu vs Shani

Rahu periods are inherently volatile. These periods positively surge with desires. Shani of course is an anti-desire, conformist, safety-first force.

Rahu yuti Shani in lagna can be a signal of mental health conflict if the native is not sufficiently conscious. 

There is much struggle with the self-image, the conflict is between the working-class or culturally conservative aspect of the self identity versus the foreign-identified or risk-taking adventurous aspect of the identity. The result if often a degree of social ostracization due to awkward relationships, unless the native is very skillful in managing this identity conflict.

Typically when Rahu occupies Surya's rashi there is the danger of extreme self-obsession or even psychosis. The location of L-10, which signifies leadership and public status, shows the central theatre of public service during the lifetime. 

For example, Indira Gandhi's yogkakara L-10 Kuja occupied her radix domain-2, for accumulated family values (Skandha) and historic speech traditions (e.g. song, dance, drama). She gave a tremendous number of highly influential speeches, and she served more through speaking about Indian cultural values than through any other method of service. 

In Gandhi's case Kuja is also L-10 of Gandhi's Kumbha-lagna navamsha, and therefore Kuja becomes extremely powerful in public service. Gandhi's leadership career began in her childhood, and was absolutely determined by her family (domain-2) of origin.

As L-10 of navamsha, Kuja does indeed have influence over your career service. Kuja's proximity to Surya who is a karaka for rationality and public life also strengthen's Kuja's influence on career.

Kuja brings enthusiasm & vitality for coaching & promotional work, teaching & training, guiding theatrical productions or "shows", manifesting the creative genius, and positive expectation often called "good luck".


Seeing the spouse in the D-9:

The spouse is indicated by either lagna of D-9 or domain-7 of D-9.

He is naturally in sync with working people of the world. And, his L-2 for speech occupies the lagna. According to his family members, he's been giving sober-but-inspiring speeches since kindergarten (Shani + Guru in lagna).

The condition of Mr. Obama's radix Shani versus your own Shani will show the differences in your respective public offerings. 

Your own Shani is not comfortable in Simha and with Shani's enemy Rahu

This means your message to others is about personal discomfort and ethical conflict. Your message will include information about taking risks (Rahu) and challenging a socially widespread pattern of self-righteous motivation underlying conventional ethical practices, which have become corrupted by fear and greed. 

In a sense, because of who you are in this lifetime, your speech expresses the same type of message as the Biblical prophets Jeremiah and Isaiah - who were not very popular people in their day! 

The prophets of the Bible mainly talked about ethical conflict that occurred with mixing of world cultures (that was going on in ancient Israel in the big empires of the day just as in the current economic globalization it is going on now). 

The Biblical prophets announced the anxiety and discomforts of a people who seemed to have forgotten the true meaning of their beliefs and practices, who had become morally corrupt. Of course they were not too well-liked, but their message was remembered for thousands of years! 

L-2 for Speech

Domain-2 is always strong in public speakers and dramatic actors e.g. Brad Pitt or Oprah Winfrey.

Your L-2 for speech = Budha, who occupies a rashi of Guru. It is beneficial that your L-2 occupies domain-5 for romance and amusements - that helps to entertain people and get applause from the audience. 

Unlike Shani, Budha doesn't have His own serious message. Budha is more interested in the technology of speaking/acting/entertaining and less engaged with a particular message. However, Budha the Messenger will convey the announcements from Surya and Kuja, and express their ideals quite happily. Surya and Kuja embody the ideals of ethical truth and positive, competitive action.

Guru problems

Altho Budha is neutral toward Guru, Brihaspati does not like Budha! The reason is that Budha tends to focus on small, temporary details while Guru wants to keep the 'big picture' of the universe in mind at all times. 

So, this is another level of conflict in the personality which must be worked out before you would find yourself standing on the steps of the US Capitol building speaking to 2 million people who voluntarily came to stand in the freezing cold (Shani) hear your sober (Shani), but inspiring (Guru+Shani), speech!

Shani L-2 and and speech

Mr. Obama is a serious guy. He brings the whole force of his personality to bear on the scope of responsibility he has now acquired, as president of the USA. Similar to Queen Elizabeth II, who has the same neechcha-bhanga Guru in lagna, Obama's social personality is defined by his positive sense of protocols, rules, and organization (Makara). His demeanor is infused with a sober, neutral attitude that realistic, hard-working Shani brings to bear on the flow of life's projects. 

Naturally, with the L-2 in lagna, the Makara traits emerge powerfully through his speech.

Who can recognize this message?

The most important point is not precisely what one has to say, what message one has to deliver, but rather *how* the message emerges. In Obama's case, he has enough ego to be a distinctive personality, but the task orientation of a common worker is the most compelling feature of his style. 

His message is not about him, or how great he is: it is about changing the system. The focus is on the system, not on him. His message being fairly ego-neutral is therefore quite easy to hear, to receive.

Obama is effectively channeling a message that can reach millions of people. He is effective because, while the message is an accurate expression of who he is, he does not "own" the message or claim to have any special privilege in understanding it. 

He is simply announcing what he sees, and what he thinks (after years of education and political grass roots work) should be done.

Comfort or Discomfort with the Masses

You would not be in his position in this lifetime, because your personality is different and your speech mechanism is different. 

Shani in Simha + Rahu sets up a struggle to attain neutrality and creates a false, adversarial ego structure. The false ego tries to be special, be right, be a celebrity, or have some unique ability or perception that sets one apart from the masses. This false ego feels tremendous resistance to elite privilege (Simha), yet it also wants somehow to achieve safety (Shani) through being special or being right. This is the overall karmic dilemma of anyone born with Shani/Simha, and it is much amplified by + Rahu and + lagna!

Compare to B. Obama, who despite being brilliantly intelligent (uchcha Chandra/5) is quite comfortable being in conformity with the masses. He is not an elitist, in the ego sense (although I believe he does have a very accurate understanding of large pyramid organizations and what happens at the top of those pyramids!)

Old karma, new agenda

You will always struggle with an old karma (Shani) of elitism. Probably you were a king in a past life, and despite having a different life purpose in your current life, the old memories (Shani lord of 10th-from-Chandra) keep trying to push you to be brilliant and special, like a king. Shani (the conformist) has got himself into the rashi of Simha, and Simha demands a unique personal expression of divine intelligence for each and every person. So there will be a lifetime of struggle to negotiate the proper ethical expression of your old privileged kingship with your new commitment to be a man of the common people (Shani in lagna).

With Makara Shani in lagna, Obama was a man of the people at birth. Whereas Mr. Obama's message says "we can all do this together, if everyone subscribes to the same rules for orderly conduct and mutual respect" -- your own personality would be almost the reverse. 

Who is entitled to deliver the message?

Your own karma operates at an oblique angle to Obama's. He expresses certainty that good organization and good structure are the key to public decency and a stable society. Your personality wants to challenge corrupt, self-righteous stability and shake up the selfish, greedy, ego-addicted behaviors of people who claim to have special privileges. But the irony is that you will often in this process fall victim to the old past-life hunger for special privilege and status for yourself! 

Therefore one trap to be avoided would be the delusion that one "has" a special message for others which somehow distinguishes one from the masses. That one is in some way more privileged or possesses a special capability that deserves applause and recognition.

Public recognition for the Message

2 million people were applauding Obama because they recognize themselves in him. He has a very accessible look - he looks like a worker, although a special variety of Noble Worker (due to Surya drishti). One question to ask in the process of searching for your message might be, who can recognize oneself in you?

You are absolutely right. Everyone does have a 'message'. But is their message just a self-justification, a preaching pious shield against inner conflict and low self-esteem? Unfortunately that is the case for most people: the talk that runs from their mouth is only a self-serving ego-narrative. 

To meet a higher purpose, it is essential to think of how one can channel the divine intelligence through one's speech and writing, how on can influence others in a way that does not suffer from ego-distortion.

Think of who in the public can relate to you, and your situation. Who looks at you and says, wow, I recognize myself in that guy. What he's saying doesn't sound like preaching or trying to make puff himself up into some false authority. It is not boasting or strutting or dramatic acting. It sounds like he's just telling the truth.

Brilliant Potential and Channel Clearing

You do have the same brilliant potential to bring personal hope and moral leadership to millions, just as Barack Obama is doing now. However you will have to do some clean-up work (Shani!) before the speech-communications channels, which run from the lagna, the Moon, domains 2-3-5-10 and other places, are cleared of ego-misconceptions about the role of the message-deliverer. 

Mahatma Mohandas Gandhi is another great example of a speech-giver who gave hope to millions... he wrote extensively about his 'clean-up' work of purging ego anxiety from his talk. 

Gandhi also had the L-2 (Kuja, for him) in lagna - like Obama, he was born to give speeches! Yet, Gandhi made mistakes early in his career by trying to 'fight' for justice (Kuja) or be morally 'right', as a path of ego-justification. 

Eventually, in order to achieve his spectacular success, he had to get all the anxious ego-business, of his own internal conflicts, out of his speech channels

Gandhi ended up seeing that he didn't 'have' anything to say. He didn't own any messages. His personality had no rare qualities. He came to understand that if he lived in a pure way, taking responsibility for his own karma, and serving others to the best of his ability, the truth would run through him like water runs through a pipe. Indeed, Gandhi's "satya-graha" concept may have been the greatest message of the 20th century.

That's what it takes to give an honest, inspiring speech!

In radix, distance from Kuja to Budha = 1 house = significations of the physical plane, material body, vitality. Therefore the Kuja/Budha period affects the physical body.

  • Budha = radix L-2 = "mouth" and "what goes in the mouth"

Typical conditions for infection = weakness of urinary system environment = 

  • not enough water + too much sugar 

Consider also that Budha is lord of neechcha Shukra in navamsha, and neechcha Shukra naturally gives "dysfunction of sweetness".

Budha in 2nd-from-Shukra will function as the "mouth for sugars" 

Therefore one point of common-sense health practice would be to purify the diet of processed sugars. Simultaneously, ensure high intake of clean water.

Water

The body's kidney-adrenal system (Shukra + Chandra) can tolerate a good deal of sugar toxicity so long as the system is getting "flushed" constantly with abundant, clean water (Chandra). 

If the sugar consumption goes up, then the water intake must go up, too.

In practice, so much water is required to keep the kidneys optimally flushed, that it is easier to eliminate processed sugars than to keep drinking vast amounts of water! Consider to eliminate from the intake (keep out of the mouth) such items as refined cane sugar, sugary drinks, take out sugar from the tea, avoid candy-sweets etc. If you must take sugar in the tea, follow with a liter of clean water to get the flush. Otherwise, Budha as "lord of the mouth" can cause some nice problems in the delicate urinary system.

Urine

If you are so inclined, the Shivambhu or morning urine-drinking practice may correct urinary infections (and even pneumonia and other system infections) with surprising speed. For cultural reasons, this practice is not acceptable to everybody. However those who incorporate it into their daily puja or morning arising ritual often report a cessation or reduction of sickness in their life overall.

Good Sugar, Bad Sugar

Natural sugars such as organic bee-honey, natural cane sugar from the fields, even molasses (which is not over-processed and is a wonderful source of iron) are not harmful in moderation. 

By contrast, both alcohol (which is distilled grain sugar) and industrially refined cane, beet or corn sugars, have been heat-stripped of their healthy vitamin and mineral fibers to make industrial processing easier. Refined sugars become toxins that harm the urinary system and which create a fertile environment for sugar-loving bacteria.

Shukra

Your neechcha Shukra in navamsha for sweet-dysfunction (often a karaka for 'Candida') and Shukra in radix Vrischikha (sexual-reproductive system), are not in the ideal rashi settings for Shukra. Because Shukra is not ideally balanced, the body becomes sensitive to sugar-overload. 

Budha

As L-2, Budha is the graha in charge of "what goes in the mouth". Also, Budha's karaka function as mental-processor puts Kumara in charge of  "thinking and planning re: what goes in the mouth".  Budha can be the agent of illness *or* He can be the intelligent decision-maker who makes a lifetime practice of avoiding refined sugars.

Rahu

Urine is ruled by Rahu. In your case, Rahu gives result of His lord Surya lagnesha, indicating that Shivambhu practice could contribute to lifetime vitality. Furthermore, the nakshatra in lagna of D-6 is probably Ardra, also ruled by Rahu.

You are quite right about Budha's malefic potential as lord of D-6 Shastamsha and the somewhat chaotic traffic in the 4th D-6, which provides an image of arguing and criticism regarding taboo-breaking and risk-taking within the family home. 

Kuja-Budha

Furthermore, within the D-6, a parivartamsha yoga between Budha and Kuja obtains, so that Kuja becomes the "virtual" lord or co-lord of the D-6.

Naturally, then, the period of Kuja (fever) / Budha (paired organs) would express some health concerns.

Considering conditions in the 4th Shastamsha, it might be worth enquiring, whether there are stressful conditions in the family home that could trigger an overindulgence in sugars. The stressful environment may manifest at mealtime or during cultural events in the home which involve food. 

Bitter Thoughts, Sweet Drug

Check in particular whether this "bitterness" of hypocritical discomfort (Kuja-Kanya = hypocrisy) might be addressed through choosing sweet foods as a palliative. The unconscious sugar-overload combined with unconscious dehydration might occur either when visiting the home or simply when thinking about the stressful, argumentative, critical situation. 

Smart Budha

The bad news is that Budha has given you some health trouble. The good news is that Budha is very smart, flexible and easy to educate! Budha likes to learn new things and try new practices. Budha occupies a health-promoting, vitality-protecting 1-1 relationship to Kuja, so the longer-term prognosis for intelligent health maintenance through diet correction is very favorable.

I ... dream to have a "sea facing palatial house". My D-9, fourth house has exalted Shani, and in Jaimini Sutras such a yoga confers such type of house. 

Also in D-4, 4rth house a strong Shani is there. Can expectations of a such a dream house be realized in future. By God's grace my parental house is spacious and luxurious Venus in 4rth aspected by Jupiter in Rashi Chart), but I wish to have one of my own too.

IMO your Jyotisha reasoning is accurate except that Shani in 4th Chaturthamsha indicates a simple, modest home (although secure and well-built due to Guru drishti within the D-4).

Conditions for the native to own a lovely home are moderately auspicious due to Guru drishti upon Shukra/4 from vyaya bhava which is itself 4th-from-Chandra. 

Having been raised in a gracious parental home, one's imagination tends to duplicate the conditions of childhood when one considers the meditative image of "home".

Conditions for the native to own a lovely home are moderately auspicious.

The best conditions for luxury home ownership occur when L-4 is a strong benefit, e.g. Shukra or Guru. 

Bandhu bhava = Vrischika, containing L-3/L-10 Shukra indicating sensual comfort although also some danger through sensual excess.

L-4 Kuja in 2nd-from-4th, will give the materialization of matters of domain-4.

Parent's home is expansive, due to uchcha Guru in 4th-from-Chandra. The native's own imagination tends towards visions of large, opulent, privileged dwellings near the ocean shores, on an island in the sea, or living aboard luxury watercraft.

Periods of gain of owned property generally correspond to periods of L-4 Kuja. Although yogakaraka for Simha lagna, Kuja is weak in shad-bala. Kuja is with L -2/L-11 in domain-5, a forecast for significant wealth through a combination of income in the marketplace plus savings plus speculative investments. The native will be wealthy, a palatial home is within reason for this level of material acquisitions. 

L-4 Kuja is also lord of Chandra who rules the oceans. Chandra occupies Bharani nakshatra; the native perceives oneself as a hard worker and wishes to be recognized emotionally for one's contribution through works. Therefore this is not a lifetime of relaxing in luxury, without material purposefulness. The native will be engaged in social good works. Guru Uchcha occupies the house of foreign lands, Chandra's own vyaya bhava. It is more likely that the palatial, seaside home will occupy a land where the people speak a language different from one's own, keep different customs, and is some physical distance from the birthplace only. 

Chaturthamsha: 

Significations of Shani are humble:

Shani-Kumbha in 4th chaturthamsha signifies a hard-earned home, typically a simple home similar to most of the working-class homes of one's culture. The external appearance of a Shani-characterized home is typically of a conventional and efficient style, of muted colors and simple materials, compact size, yet solidly built if Shani is himself strong and uninterrupted by disturbing drishti. (He is strong in D-4 Kumbha definitely.) The home may serve as a communal work-space for marketplace events or fundraising space for community development or other communal gathering for networking toward goals and community outreach parties. 

Shani in the 4th Chaturthamsha is however less influential since Shani = radix L-6/L-7 from lagna and L-10/L-11 from Chandra. Only in Shani's role as lord of 4th-from-4th Kumbha-radix does Shani have a vote in the nature of the native's dwelling place.

Kuja in D-4

L-4 Radix = Kuja is more influential in D-4 and L-4-from-Chandra = Chandra is also worth closer inspection to determine the finer levels of implicit subconscious expectation regarding the manifestation of the personal home.

Mangala in Chaturthamsha D-4 occupies the gainful but inauspicious rashi of Kanya, with self-justifying Surya (same as Rashi). This pairing weakens Kuja's thrust toward direct action. With Surya and in Kanya, Kuja exposes the native to danger of hypocrisy and pretentiousness, driven by Kuja's 'engine' or motivation to create an ostentatious appearance in order to feel superior to others. Kuja is never happy in a rashi  of Budha, where Mangala feels that He must 'explain everything' and defend his choices. In the process Kuja + Surya can create a self-justifying narrative that is critical and contrived.

Chandra in D-4 

Chandra, the natural lord of all shelters, is adequate in D-4 and certainly expanded in spaciousness due to yuti with Guru. However Chandra in 12th chaturthamsha suggests that most of one's psychic (subconscious) manifestation energy is housed in the world of the imagination, similar to the power of  uchcha Guru in radix being largely "spent" in the house of private imagination, radix vyaya bhava.

Pure  Motivation will determine the scope of manifestation

If the native wishes to fully manifest the dream of a palatial seaside home, it will be necessary to do quite a bit of reconstructive and clarification work on the subconscious expectations and motives that are revealed in the D-4. Motives must be pure. 

Will the home be used to benefit others as well as oneself? Perhaps a lovely and luxurious home, which certainly would shelter and protect one's own family, can also be put to good use as a venue for fundraising entertainments or community development planning meetings. 

Will the home be used psychologically as a weapon (Kuja-Surya) of self-justification and ego-display in the argumentative and critical sense, or will the home serve as a center of welcoming generosity to others with humanistic intentions (Guru)? 

To get the best results from this set of goals and expectations as demonstrated in D-1 and D-4, it will be necessary to reflect deeply on the imaginative, meditative image of the home as a working center of family life, community life, and service to the divine. Remove the obstacles to manifestation, such as implicit criticism of others, pretentious displays, and other immature motives for owning a luxury home. 

Set the intention that one's home will be physically secure and staffed with loyal attendants, but that the dwelling will also serve a deeper spiritual purpose such as hosting spiritual teachers (uchcha Guru in 4th-from-Chandra) or providing educational or community development opportunities. 

Since Guru is L-5 for politics and channeling divine intelligence, the implication for one's home to serve as a sheltered space hosting humanistic, educated, principled, creative political involvement is very positive.

When you are certain that your home will be used for only the purest purposes (including sheltering of one's own family which is a very pure purpose!) and that its location, size, style, and other attributes are a "right fit" for your spiritual life practice, then one may have full confidence that one's vision of a palatial seaside home, beautifully designed and maintained, will come to full fruition. 


Q: Uchcha Guru retrograde in domain-12 - stronger or weaker? Effects?

Q) Do retrograde exalted planets behave as debilitated planets and vice-versa. Jupiter in my chart is retrograde. I have always felt the inner expansive nature of Jupiter Retrograde, ie. tremendous search of knowledge especially Real Truth, behind all the texts, related to any subject. Graha gain strength in retrograde. 

An uchcha Guru retrograde such as yours is super-strong in potential for wisdom acquisition, expansion of teaching and priestly capabilities, and power to develop a truly inclusive and compassionate worldview. 

Graha karaka characteristics per se, without regard to house lordships, are much strengthened by uchcha status, and also by retrograde (because in retrograde the graha typically has a much slower velocity, which cause the graha to linger longer over the birth spot.)

When a bhava pati resides in a dusthamsha

Unfortunately the significations of Guru's two bhava are damaged because their lord occupies a dusthamsha (12). Matters of domain-5 (politics, games, romance, genius, children) and matters of domain-8 (mystery traditions, tantrik initiation, secret healing, wife's money, wife's family, inheritance, taxes, hidden assets) are "lost in the world of dreams" (12). 

When a strong graha occupies vyaya bhava, a great deal of activity occurs in the imagination, but relatively little of it will manifest in the material world. Due to the L-5/L-8 being so exceptionally strong (uchcha, retrograde) in vyaya bhava, matters of those houses are much better developed in the astral form, and less empowered to manifest in the material form. 

The potential for gaining wisdom through meditative practice and for being sincerely happy and content (Guru) through service in an ashram or sanctuary space is, throughout the life, exceptionally high and auspicious .

Reduce Dusthamsha effects without Gems - worship yes, but beware of self-deception

For general well-being, I do not recommend to worship deities as a substitute for basic human kindness. It is very easy to be 'nice' to an abstract deity, to show it respect and affection. It is easy to look pious and religious, while still mistreating others. It is not so easy to be consistently nice to other people. 

For general well-being, I recommend to treat other humans with compassion and respect. To worship the deity effectively, learn to recognize that deity in the person of another human. This involves observing the person and evaluating whether or not one is in a position to assist them, without judging or blaming the one who is suffering.

To compassionately recognize the pain of one's fellow human beings - which is to say, in Jyotisha terms, to see fellow humans experiencing the dusthamsha effects of the 6, 8, and 12th angles -- will raise the consciousness much faster and better than worshipping a deity in the abstract. 

To relieve one's own suffering, offer help to others

The antidote to the fear-soaked ignorance of 6, 8 and 12 is consciousness. By observing and interacting with others in a spirit of intelligent compassion - paying attention to the plight of fellow beings without criticizing or dehumanizing the other - one can quite effectively remove the sources of suffering in one's own life. 

Self-criticism 6; fear of unknown 8; dissolution of identity 12; can be eliminated through compassion toward others. Unfortunately, superstitious worship of a deity may trick the native into believing that one has no responsibility for engaging in compassionate service, that pious worship will somehow solve the problem without moral engagement! 

I am a great believer in the consolation of worship, to gain comfort and companionship from the blessings of the gods. However, the actual work of removing obstacles to enlightenment - removing the repeating life patterns which cause the suffering associated with 6, 8, and 12 -- requires moral engagement with other humans.
