1. Surya = lord of karma bhava, in Dhanusha rashi  ; lord of 7th-from Chandra and located in 11^th-from-Chandra; receiving  Parashari drishti of Mangala; in company of L-8/L-11 Budha.   L-10 in 2 will give public recognition due to voice, face, hair, speech, and song; and the native will become wealthy due to iconic public leadership activities during the period of Surya.  Lord of 7th-from-Chandra - the native sings about relationships.

Yuti L-10 Surya, assists a public career is speech and song.  Fierce 4th drishti of sexualized Mangala. Due to Budha's impressionable nature; He will give the results of the L-10 with whom He consorts.

5. Guru = "double L-2": (money and death) = lord of putra-5 and dhana-2 bhava, in 12^th-from lagna and 9^th-from Chandra. Wealth-bringing Lord of 2 and 11 from Kumbha Chandra.  Guru's stength is increased because He owns the houses which contain the majority of graha and important lagnas in the combined D-1 + D-9.

6. Shukra = L-7/L-12 from Vrischika lagna and L-4/L-9 from Kumbha Chandra. In company of Rahu. Shukra receiving no Parashari drishti. Shukra is not a notably good planet for Vrischika lagna. With Rahu, amplification of the sensual beauty of Shukra who is favored in the "good bones" rashi of Makara. The native's material persona will be perceived as exceptionally attractive through communications media.

  • Ravi occupies the karakamsha () with strength.  Mr. Presley's first and only marriage was reported to have been "staged" by his manager as a media product for public consumption. Certainly the emotional experience of marriage is much oppressed by his Shani + Chandra drishti (missing-the-mother) to Simha. Yet whatever the motive, his marriage - represented by domain-10 Simha - granted him essential social dignity. 

• Atmakaraka Vargottama Budha = Vargottama, with Budha in navamsha lagna. Native was widely known for Budha = speech + song, the technical skills of musicianship (not the inspiration, which is Shukra, but rather the hands in instrument-playing); his his brash ( Dhanusha) sexualized (Budha takes drishti of  Mangala-Kanya) youthfulness, dancing .

  • Budha = lord of 10th navamsha = career very fortunate, considering the diverse and highly capable talents of Budha

Presley's early life and was deeply influenced by the culture of populist evangelical Christianity, which contributed the cultural roots (4) of his musical style.

  • "Permanent Sade Saati" = Chandra + Shani = mother is a religiously identified person (Soma = L-9) but she is always emotionally distant, and the native always wanting to be much closer to her than she allows. Mother has some private grief which makes her "emotionally unavailable". However the mother remains in her physical body past the child's infancy due to the materially stabilizing effects of the swakshetra Shani + drishti from Guru.

• Chandra: Premature loss of the mother due to proximity of Shani/4. Generally, much trouble making emotional connections with women. Chandra is overpowered by the swakshetra Shani and furthermore Chandra harmed in 6/8 from Soma's own house. Result = "emotional paralysis" leading to distancing and eventual separation. The paralysis extends to all nurturing relationships with women, including wives, lovers, mothers, sisters, and daughters.

  • L-9 Chandra + atmakaraka Budha in both navamsha lagna and dashamsha lagna. During America's deep racial-cultural transformations of 1955-1975, Elvis became an iconic symbol of the threatening but seductive mixture of black + white cultures in USA. Elvis expressed a deeply emotional Baptist spirituality which infused even his most provocative performances. The core of his fan base (largely in the American South) perceived Elvis to have qualities of a religious deity.

  • Guru drishti to Chandra, fertility = one child: Lisa Marie Presley.

Presley was hampered in his cognitive understanding by a restrictively localized formal education, but he was known to be an extensive reader on spiritual topics and deeply interested in world religions (L-9 Chandra in domain-4, education). He had a particular interest in the presence of astral beings who provide spiritual guidance (Shatataraka). It is likely that his mother was one of his guides in these matters, although she might never have acquired the consciousness or vocabulary needed to successfully understand the situation.

• Ketu in Dharma Bhava = permanent detachment and apathy regarding matters of ceremonial religion. Lord of Dharma = Chandra = 6/8 from swakshetra.  Ketu/9 is a major handicap in Presley's quest to understand spiritual connections. Also indicates the detachment of Presley's father, with the father handing over most of his moral guidance power to Presley's mother (Chandra) - and then the mother's power being much constrained by ignorance (Shani) and conformist local custom (Shani/4).

• Jyestha nakshatra in radix lagna. Jyeshtha gives dark charisma and psychic certainty, along with potentially obsessive public attention upon the native's own persona. Typical of Jyestha, Elvis Presley had a deep and abiding sense of having been "chosen", rising from the toxic underclass to transformative national leadership role. Perhaps inadvertently, he served as a great healer of racial-cultural anger and contempt.
