of Karma Bhava - "Karmaa Pada" = Sahaja bhava |
= public imagery
or associations = unoccupied, lord = Guru the teacher = publications,
administration, planning, scheduling, assignments.
-
Public glamour is minimal. Karma pada
= bhava-3 = is empty. Lord of Karma Pada = L-3+L-6 Guru, an
inauspicious graha associated with servitude, relationship problems,
outcasts and foreigners, and the daily grind of business
administration.
-
the
public illusion- Arudha =Karma Pada = promotes
attributes of teaching (Guru) and publications (3).
-
Lord Guru receives drishti of all
three malefics (Mangala, Shani, + Rahu by association) therefore Guru
suffers a reduced scope of action.
-
Guru's association with the
powerfully independent and regal L-11 Surya (which also unfortunately
gets the restrictive drishti of the papa-graha) contributes a small aura
of independent authority.
-
Karma Pada =
Vrischika bhava-2 is
rather difficult and exotic, consisting of the treasury-house which stores
wealth and knowledge occupied by a Rahu-Shani pair in parivartamsha with
the bhava-pati Mangala. This house will eventually yield a strange and
powerful profession and reputation for some variety of exotic knowledge of
history and languages; however there will be many torturous twists and
turns due to the interaction of the three empowered malefics all
concentrated upon one bhava. Luckily this bhava measures 9th-from-Chandra.
Shani permits a final success only after endurance, only after maturity
hard-won, and only after years of disciplined and unrewarded study.

in radix bhava-2 mark Yogakaraka L-4+L-5
Shani yuti Rahu, in parivartamsha with Shani's enemy Kuja, in the 2nd domain
of speech and transmission of stored values
the native is a mouthpiece for an
ancient, healing, tantrik knowledge tradition
The public perceives the legitimacy of
the transmission but the public might not accept or embrace the information
itself, due to the foreign Rahu content and the general malefic associations
of Shani and Kuja. Overall, despite the dicey nature of the
job, the auspice for respect arising from transmission of traditional
values
along with the healing capacity of Vrischika, is favorable for public
reputation.

Definition = The
3rd house should be a benefic sign
aspected by benefic planets and the 3rd lord should
join a benefic amsa.
Results.— the native will always be interested in reading high-class literature and in listening

Remarks.—Irrespective
of the fact whether or not the
3rd house is a benefic
sign, the 3rd lord should have
the aspect of one of the natural benefics.

"Qu.
34: When Saturn falls in
Mars' Sapta Vargas, and Mars in Saturn's Sapta Vargas,do they become
strong?
Ans: You cannot lay down any hard
and fast rules in judging the strength or otherwise of planets when there is
an exchange of vargas between two natural malefics. "
-
If it is a case of Parivarthana
Yoga(interchange of places), this considerably strengthens
it.
-
In cases other than a parivarthana,
due weight must be given to their lordship and similar factors.
-
When
Mars is a
Yogakaraka
and Saturn happens to be in Mars' vargas, then
Saturn is automatically rendered strong.
-
As to whether such strength
expresses itself in good or bad respects depends on the horoscopic
disposition of Saturn though by virtue of Saturn's inherent malefic
nature, a measure of evil is bound to predominate."

~~ Mantreswara's Phaladeepika- Chapter 5, Shloka |
"In any nativity, if the lord of
the 10th house is situated in Mars' Navamsha,
the person shall earn a living
through metals,
serving for fighting, battles, cooking,
lands, gold,
causing troubles to others, weapons, adventure,
association
with wicked men, spying, or through theft."
|
|
|
In this nativity, professional Jyotishi
practice may be framed as a form of psychic observation which could be
characterized as espionage, a skill of vyaya bhava.
The physical associations of Kuja are
reduced in this nativity. Kuja's theoretical-conceptual nature in radix
Kumbha, and Mangala's advanced mentalization in Mithuna navamsha, takes Kuja
away from the earthiest fleshly realm (where He is happiest) and transports
His competitive, even warlike energies into the airy domains of
large-network (Kumbha) and conversation-transaction (Mithuna).

Bisaja
= tendency toward
shocking, splitting revelations.
Psychological work with trauma and healing,
medical diagnosis, counseling professions, investigative journalism,
divination, intuitive and clairvoyant work, and scientific research are
all suitable. But do not expect consistent output or steady routine, at
least until the end of life.
-
Navamsha lagna "swamsha"
= Punarvasu
= soul's desire to feel fertility, development, growing things from the Earth Energy.
Motherhood, gardening, and caring for family or students should
spiritually inform this native's career plan.
-
Radix
Chandra =
Uttarabhadrapada,
pursuing destiny to feel Established in Earth's Aura and
grounded in the cosmos. the native requires protection from overcrowding
(physical and psychic) and engulfment. Career path should provide a
sanctuary workspace, opportunity to build a reputation, and
avenues of expression for their famous "reading and writing"
skills. Literary authorship, publications . -
Navamsha
Chandra = Anuradha . the native intuitively seeks out companions
with the qualities of friendliness. These are alliance-makers and
negotiators, often found in diplomatic, brokering, counseling/advising,
and legal environments.

Planetary Yogas: fromB.V. Raman,
Three Hundred Important Combinations
|
3. Anapha
Yoga
-
"Definition: If there are planets in
the 12th from the Moon,Anapha Yoga is formed. [Kumbha
Kuja] -
Resultsand Well-formed organs, majestic
appearance, good reputation, polite, generous, self-respect, fond of
dress and sense pleasures. In the later life,
renunciation and austerity."
7. Adhi
Yoga (partial) [Guru in 6th-from-Chandra; Budha in
7th-from-Chandra]
-
Definition: If benefics are situated in the
6th,
7th and 8th from the Moon, the combination goes under the name of Adhi
Yoga. -
Results: The person will be
polite
and trustworthy, will have an enjoyable and happy life,
surrounded by luxuries and affluence, will inflict defeats on his
enemies, will be healthy and will live long. -
Remarks: ... All these benefics [Shukra,
Guru, Budha] may be in the 6th, 7th or 8th or in two houses or all of
them may be in any one of these houses.
23 Bhadra
Yoga [uchcha Budha in 7th-from-Chandra, in kendra from the Moon]
-
Definition: Bhadra Yoga is caused by the
disposition of Mercury in a Kendra which should be identical with his
own or exaltationsign. -
Results: The person born in Bhadra Yoga will be
strong, will have A lion-like
face, well-developed chest, well-proportioned limbs, will
be taciturn, will help relatives and will live up to a
good old age.
18 Obhayachari
Yoga [uchcha Budha in 2nd-from-Surya]
-
Definition: If planets other than the Moon are
present on either side of the Sun, Obhayachari is caused. -
Results. -The person will be an
eloquent
speaker. Will have well-proportioned limbs, will take
delight in everything, will be liked by all, wealthy and
famous.
12 Sakata
Yoga
-
Definition: The Moon
in the 12th, 6th or 8th from Jupitergives rise to Sakata
Yoga. -
Results: the native loses fortune and may
regain it. He will be Ordinary
and insignificant. He will suffer from poverty, privation and
misery. He will be stubborn and hated by relatives. [Raman says that
"Sakatayogajatasya Yogobhangam Pade-
pade"is more the rule with this yoga - the person loses his
fortune "Pade- pade" --
now and again. It is not a combination for lifelong
poverty.]
16. Subha-Vesi
Yoga
- [uchcha Budha in 2nd-from-Ravi]
-
Definition: If planets other than the
Moon occupy the 2nd from the Sun, Vesi Yoga is formed. -
Results: The person will be fortunate, happy,
virtuous, famous and aristocratic.
29. Bharathi
Yoga [uchcha L-9+L-12 Budha = lord of navamsha of L-11 Surya+ L-2
Kuja, and Kuja = parivartamsha exchange with the L-5 Shani]
-
Definition: The lord of Navamsha occupied by
the lord of the 2nd, 5th, and 11th is exalted and in conjunction with the 9th lord -
.Results: World famous,
a reputed
scholar, fond
of music, romantic, handsome, attractive, religiously inclined and
bewitching eyes. -
Remarks: Three Yogas are given rise to inasmuch
as the 9th lord cannot be in simultaneous conjunction with all the three
Navamsa lords. Therefore Bharathi Yoga may be said to exist
(a)
if the lord of Navamsha occupied by the 2nd lord is exalted and in
conjunction with the 9th lord, (b) if the lord of the
Navamsa occupied by the 5th lord is exalted and combines with the 9th
lord, and (c) if the lord
of the Navamsha occupied by the 11th lord is exalted and combines with
the 9th lord,. Bharathi Yoga is not quite a common combination.
44. Sankha
Yoga [L-5 Shani in 4/10-from-L-6 Guru; Shukra is moderately powerful in Shad
Bala]
-
Definition and The lords of the 5th and 6th
should be in mutual Kendras and the Lord of
Lagnamust be powerful. -
Results: Fond of pleasures, humanitarian,
blessed with wife, children and lands, righteously inclined, doing good
deeds, learned in sciences, and living up to a good old age.
103.
Duryoga
"Definition. If the lord
of the 10th is situated in the 6th, 8th or 12th,Duryoga is
caused.
Results: The person will not derive
the fruits of his own bodily exertion; he will be looked down by others;
highly selfish and always intent upon deceiving others, he will live in
a foreign place.
Remarks: The 10th is the pivot of
the horoscope and its lord should be strong if one's life is to be
tolerably happy. When the 10th lord is in dushthamshas he will lose
his vitalityand is therefore said to confer on the native just
those qualities which render himinsignificant in the eyes of the
public. Harming others, selfishness and gluttony are not
qualities conducive to making one virtuous.
One who has Dur-yoga is supposed not
to derive the benefits of his own bodily exertions. Duryoga seems to
indicate that one would earn his livelihood by manual labour.
Of the three Dusthamsha, the 12th
seems to be the least malefic so far as this Yoga is concerned, because
whilst depriving one of the fruits of his labours, it will at least give
him noble qualities and therefore a certain amount of respect in
society."
|
|
Sakata
(BPL note, "Sakata yoga" not to be
confused with the "Sat-kalatra" yoga which gives a noble and
virtuous spouse)
|
Sakata Yoga is one of the dreaded yogas formed by the
sixth-eighth
relationship between the Moon and Jupiter, especially if
none of them is in a kendra position.
As a result of [Sakata] yoga, the native
-
loses fortunebut may regain it,
-
he will be Ordinary and insignificant.
-
He will suffer from poverty, privation and misery.
-
He will be stubborn and hated by relatives.

with

And Kuja receives
drishti of Surya/Guru from
gainful bhava-11.
-
The
parivartamsha yoga is certainly helpful, but the core
character of Kujaremains quite eccentric and philosophicalinKumbha rashi.
-
Considering also the uchcha Budha in the occult
bhava-12which is tasked to articulate a meditative and imaginative
path, the native may have trouble retaining mainstream employment.
-
This person's sincere intellectual interestsare
outside the conventional realm of scholarly and scientific inquiry.
-
Uchcha Budhaowns five key graha+Lagna in the
D-1/D-9
-
Uchcha Budha receive drishti from the dominant
career lord, Kuja.

Prognosis:
The
radix characteristics of Kuja and Budha - - broadly
characterized as "eccentric creativity, occult studies, and research
writing" -- will to a large extent determine this native's
career.
|
|
Attributes of Kuja: |
The physical associations of Kuja are
reduced in this nativity.
-
Competitive, warrior Kuja must
negotiate the abstract terrain of
Kumbha's theoretical-conceptual
networks.
-
In addition, Mangala experiences advanced
mentalization in Mithuna navamsha,
-
The arid, physically disengaged
environments of Kumbha and Mithuna remove Kuja from the
fleshly animal realm
-
Mithuna-Kumbha channel Mangala's
hunting, pursuing behaviors into the airy domains of conversation-transaction
(Mithuna) and large-network systems (Kumbha)
Therefore all direct-action effects of Kuja, including
the influence He wields as the navamsha lord of Chandra radix-10, are
weakened
through mentalization and scientific abstraction.
Further weakening due to very late degree
in the rashi, = 29:6 of Kumbha. Mangala =

Data:
|
This middle-aged native has served as a teacher and
trainer in commercial and academic settings. Her
formal education is in the fields of religious philosophy (lagnesha
Shukra/Mithuna/9) and
linguistics (uchcha Budha/12). She has taught in those subjects and multiple
additional subjects (Mithuna) at the college level and in community and corporate
institutional settings in a variety of
countries and cultures (Mithuna).
This native normally earns income
through the service of describing and explaining things (uchcha Budha) in
the role of an intellectual/ethical authority figure (Surya).
-
Kuja = eccentric, esoteric and
conceptual in Kumbha.
-
Parivartamsha yoga = two
malefics Kuja and Shani. It does strengthen the ability to defend oneself
against enemies, but it also makes the proving battlesa necessary and
permanent element of the incarnation.
-
Uchcha Budha is highly organized and
occasionally gainful, due to Budha's natural commercial inclinations.
-
Surya is regally independent and
morally authoritative. Native is well-connected through
interlocking global communities.
This native has developed an eccentric,
intellectualized, and highly independent research career.
In addition to writing(L-3 Guru
in gainful bhava-11), she earns through speaking. Audio recordings
of her lectures are a primary source of income, due to the powerful parivartamsha
yoga between
L-2
and L-5.
However, the eccentric Kuja and
authoritative Suryainfluences push this native so far out of the mainstream
that she would not likely find a place in conventional business or academia.
This despite the powerful intelligence of both Surya and Budha.
Somewhat
jokingly this native self-identifies with the modern educational disability
label "oppositional-defiant". In practice this label applies to
students who pick fights with their teachers and are unable to tolerate
authority in any form (generally the extreme types end up in prison). Of course
this is an exaggeration, and this native works successfully with authority when
necessary. But there is a kernel of truth to the designation due to the
dominant, highly independent and self-expansive Surya-Guru combination, agitated
by Kuja (however tamed by drishti from Shani.)
Kuja is just too dominant, too intensely
conceptual, and too much energized by the regally independent Surya to tolerate
a restrictive employment for very long.
-
In fact, except for one 2-year Kuja bhukti
in her 35 working years of life, this native has always been either a sole
proprietor of her own business or an "independent contractor" to
institutions - never an employee.
Due partly to Kuja's signification as Atmakarakainvolved a very peculiar yoga - the parivartamsha which converts a deeply hostile rashi
of Kumbha into more comfortable Vrischika-influenced house - her professional path is
both personalized and spiritualized.
Her professional identity is also decidedly
family-based bhava-2 partner in the parivartamsha yoga).
She is first and foremost a mother, but also a professional writer and
contract language tutor, as well as the author of these Jyotisha pages.
Kuja featuring all this unusual plumage in
bhava-5 of "creative intelligence" suggests a teaching and literary career in conceptual philosophy, or other highly
complex and abstract topics. In fact this native is an advanced student
of esoteric philosophy; as well as a contract teacher, housewife and mother.
Her professional office is inside her home (Kuja/4).
(Who could propose a more eccentric,
independent, career than professional Jyotisha?!)
|
|
Lord of Radix L-10
= Chandra = navamsha of
Mangala
|
Native follows an unusual pattern of earning through a
rashi of
Mangala:
The peculiar expression of a
Mangala-driven career can be explained by examination of the
peculiar nature of Mangala in the nativity. Mangala not only
occupies a rashi of Shani but also engages in a parivartamsha
with His lord bringing both the creative-expressive powers of a
scientific 5th house and the articulatory, historical interests
of the 2nd house to the fore.
Mangala is also has lordship over Rahu,
and Rahu is involved in the parivartamsha, so that the
historical material becomes exotic, and somewhat taboo, which
Shani imposes a systems viewpoint, and Shani insists on the most
scientific possible (and often the slowest possible)
articulation of the knowledge.
|
|
Phaladeepika - Chapter 5, Shloka 4:
|
"If the lord of the 10th
house occupies the Navamsha of
Mangala
, The
sources of income or livelihood will be through:
-
metals,
-
serving for fighting battles,
-
cooking,
lands, gold ,
-
causing troubles to others,
weapons,
-
Adventure,
-
Association with wicked men,
-
spying, or through theft
"

|
Surya

|
Swakshetra Surya is gainful on bhava-11
despite being dominated by combust inauspicious L-3+L-6 Guru.
Dashamsha Surya is neechcha, and yuti Rahu
- giving amplified results of lagnesha+L-8 Shukra.
In radix, Shukra is concerned with issues
of identity (lagnesha) and occult processes (bhava-8, containing psychic
Ketu).
-
he dashamsha association of Surya
with Shukra, amplified by Rahu, suggests that the native will invest
public moral
authority (Surya) in expertise grounding a profitable business (Guru/11)
regarding matters of social identity and occult or hidden information.
|
|
Radix
L-10 Chandra |
L-10 Chandra occupies
bhava-6 in the rashi of
Guru. Chandra's lord Brihaspati is dignified in Simha in the profitable 11th
domain.
Although Chandra is very
humble in bhava-6 of social conflict, medicine and servitude, the negative health implications
are somewhat relieved by Brihaspati's dignity in precisely 6th-from-6th.
Chandra does deliver illness and debt into the incarnation, but these experiences generate wisdom
(Brihaspati) and the wisdom gained serves to fuel the native 's gency in the marketplace.
Chandra is adequate to provide public
dignity, in 9th-from-10th = bhava-6. Ari bhava is an arthahouse concerned with
material matters.
Chandra occupies
Uttarabhadrapada Nakshatra ,
which is also a gainful Nakshatra . However natives of Uttarabhadrapada are famed
for their fortified residences and need for deep seclusion, due to
profound intolerance for engulfment.
his native may have a distinguished and profitable career.
Yet Chandra in Uttarabhadrapada, ruled by the deeply resting and contemplative
Ahirbudhnya, must have assurance of protection from the
"inquiring mind" of the public as well as time for uninterrupted
deep thought.
Career is defined as world service (L-10 in
bhava-6). Some great leaders such as
Franklin
D. Roosevelt have had this call to serve the masses as well. The job is
never well-praised due to the animosity and conflict emitting from
bhava-6.
Chandra in
Meena
rashi in bhava-6 = clinical
medicine. Typically, when Chandra occupies bhava-6 + a guidance rashi of
Guru = inspiration for the victim class, teaching about conflict
and imbalance.
Each person presents as a clinical case
(6) seeking
descriptive logical argument and prescription (Budha).
|
|
L-10 navamsha = Guru
|
Chandra in bhava-6 implies a
longer, harder road to profitability. Yet, despite the evil portfolio of Ari
bhava, a path toward achievement is created by Chandra's lord Guru =
lord
of 10th navamsha. Guru as primary significator of career = ethical =
gainful.
Although it is a secondary level of
observation which is not definitive, complete
career analysis should seek confirmation from role of 10th-from-10th =
Yuvati
bhava
-
bhava-7 = Mesha.
-
L-2+L-7 Kuja = lord of 10th dashamsha
-
Kuja's eccentric character has been
articulated above
-
the native does considerable
consulting on matters of bhava-7 and bhava-2, including
marriage/relationships, family, and death. The approach is eccentric,
scientific, and conceptual (Kuja/Kumbha).
-
Kuja occupies the Nakshatra of
Purvabhadapada, in the 3rd quarter
-
Das says of pada-3, "Your outward expression is mischievous but not inwardly. In other words, you think one thing
[serious philosophy] but do another [speak lightly even frivolously]. You are bold, courageous and
inclined to do researchand finally attain name, fame and reputation."
L-7 Kuja in the gainful
11th-from-jaya-bhava
|
|
Lord of the 10th navamsha =
Guru =
radix L-3 and L-6 in bhava-11
Das
says regarding Guru in the 1st quarter of Purvaphalguni Nakshatra :
"You will show abundant
friendship and be highly learned in various fields of science. You have an excellent general knowledge on various subjects and will be wealthy."
However there are some obstacles.
Das
says that when L-3+L-6 Guru occupies house-11 in Simha rashi:
"... activates your mind so much that your mental balance may be disturbed if your work does not progress according to plan, and if your domestic life doesn't provide adequate opportunities for the expression of your feelings. You sometimes face danger."
|
-
L-3+L-6 Guru is inauspicious for
Thula lagna .
-
L-3 and L-6 are not only dushthamshas,
but also they are the natural houses of Budha who is a natural enemy of
Guru.
-
In practice, Budha's houses are
places where detailed, short-term, immediate, scripted, and repetitive
processes occur. Guru will tend to over-philosophize the naturally
mundane and short-attention-span behaviors.
Despite being a relatively inauspicious
radix house lord, Guru is nevertheless lord of bhava-3 which owns and
aspects bhava-3 (Dhanau). This is an excellent arrangement for any type of
training-style teaching, such as conferences, brief practical-skills
trainings, professional continuing education seminars, and internet
publishing.
Although lagnesha Shukra in this nativity
does occupy bhava-9, signifying a mentalized and conversational engagement
with ritual religion, Guru does not favor priesthood in this nativity. the native is not a religious icon nor a recognized authority in any religious
tradition. Guru in this nativity is community oriented, welcomes the sangha,
and stimulates discussion amongst a confident, morally aware, elite assembly
(Simha/11) of wisdom-seeking individualists.
Professional specialty =
-
providing wisdom teachings (Guru)
-
on matters of goal-setting and
achievement (bhava-11)
-
As well as business activities
(bhava-3)
-
And service roles
(bhava-6).
-
he group discussions
(bhava-11)
-
involve subjects connected with moral
and political behaviors (Simha),
-
And rational philosophy
(Surya).
-
the native 's style is highly
individualistic and confident (Guru yuti swakshetra Surya)
-
yet grounded in the wisdom traditions
(Guru)
-
while expressing the traditions in a
highly practical and mundane conversational practice (bhava-3)
-
through publications media
(bhava-3).
Guru occupies
Purvaphalguni Nakshatra , which gives a keen interest in occult subjects, and an expansive
capacity to develop discussions on matters of individual ethicsas well
as social policy and practice. Guru is well-placed here in the Nakshatra of the Aditya Bhaga, who bestows wealth and presides over love
marriage.
Data:
Although well educated with special training
in ethics and social policy, as well as a broad competence in occult history and
divinatory technique, the native struggles with an imbalanced and heavily
mentalized workload of teaching, writing, and lecturing.
L-3 gives self-owned business, with lord in
9th-from-3rd, is profitable. L-6 gives debt, servitude, social conflict,
disease.
he danger = sickness and animosity caused by
over-expansion of analytical thought and Guru's natural disregard for Shani's
time-clock. Result = "too many tasks" for the allotted earthly
hours.
An additional danger is theintrusion of
reactionary, conflict-ridden lower class (bhava-6) personalitiesinto the
somewhat elite debate regarding social-ethical practice. These personalities
have the opportunity to damage the career. They are tightly connected with the
"mothers relatives" in bhava-6.
he intrusion of inappropriate voices in the
discussion is much reduced due to the auspicious presence of the Uttarabhadrapada
Chandra in bhava-6.
In reality, the mother's relatives created
some resistance to the native 's education in religious philosophy. In the longer
term, the native had sufficient individual integrity (Surya in strength) to transcend
these enemies.
|
|
10th-from- Chandra - psycho-emotional
true service: Lord = Guru
10th-from-Chandra = 3 Dhanau.
|
Emotionally, this native is wanting to serve in humanistic educational training
and media publications, in the
role of a teacher and facilitator (characteristics of Guru.).
Lord Guru always likes to teach, and as L-3 he has a special connection to
writings and publication. Guru occupies 11th-from-lagna, yuti Surya,
making the writings of bhava-3 accessible to large-scale networked
assemblies of bhava-11.
|
Shukra Mahadasha: |
CAREER:
Guru = lord of 10th-from-mahadasha
pati = bhava-6
-
Mahadasha of L-1+L-8 Shukra =
L-3+L-8 from Chandra.
-
Numerous difficulties can be expected
during Mahadasha of lagnesha Shukra due to Shukra's unfavorable angle vis-à-vis
most of the graha in the radix nativity. In addition, Shukra is afflicted by
Ketu in navamsha.
-
Notably, Shukra = L/8 measured from BOTH
radix lagna and Chandra lagna. the native can expect considerable effect of
"sudden, forced changes" through the auspice of the L-8 during the
20 years of Shukra Mahadasha.
-
In this nativity, there is
Only one overtly
favorable bhukti during the entire 20-year duration of
Shukra Mahadasha- that
is, the Shukra-Mangala period. All other periods forecast particular
difficulties:
Shukra-Shukra
period = "double
L-8" effects (cf. Elizabeth Taylor,
Charles de Gaulle)
Shukra = L-1+L-8 from Thula lagna +
L-3+L-8 from Meena Chandra
Inheritance-1
As L-8, Shukra the karaka
for money and pleasure may be expected to produce some hidden
monies in the form of inheritance, insurance settlements, or
possibly alimony.
Ketu in bhava-8
reduces the output and may cause confusion or disorientation in the
distribution of such funds.
Despite the ill-disposed
graha in 9th-from-Chandra (mother's father), the death of 9th-from-Chandra
= bhava-8, a house of inheritance.
Shukra-Surya
period =
Surya in3rd-from-Shukra; L-6 from Chandra
Surya = L-11 from Thula lagna +
L-6 from Meena Chandra
-
3rd-from is a mentalized angle which is restless and
somewhat ego-driven. L-6-from-Chandra
is a notoriously difficult
graha for emotional matters, and how much more virulent when the Will
is so pronounced and Surya joins the Thula-negative L-3+L-6 Guru!
-
Not
favorable for balanced relationships either personal or professional. Good
for personal accomplishments.
-
Yet the willful and
creative character Surya as L-11 in 11
says that the native may
Accomplish important goals.
The planning,
publication, and administrative functions as well as short-term travel
(holidays, business travel) are emphasized. Surya facilitates earnings
and social networking . The L-11
brings networks of friends who join together in pursuit of mutual
goals. Socially, this is a good period with sibling-type (3)
friendships established and personal goals achieved.
-
Shukra and Surya = mutual enemies,
inauspicious. Furthermore Surya in this nativity receives drishti of
Mangala, Shani, and Rahu (by association). Surya is a graha "under
siege".
-
Professionally it is a bit of a dicey
period due to the adversarial relationship between Ravi and Shukra. On the
one hand, the native wants to indulge in the sweet pleasures of money and
luxury. On the other hand, Surya is honest, brilliant, and a seeker of only
the purest philosophical truth. As karaka for Ego, Ravi also needs a measure of public
recognition.
-
the native may be inconsistent in work
practice - moving uncomfortably between high-profile glamorous or
prestigious roles and more practical money-earning jobs. Despite the ego's
need for recognition, 3rd-from emphasizes the mundane tasks of information
management/publication, announcements, reports, secretarial work and less on
the more rpestigious people management or executive decision-making roles.
The 3rd-from angle supports self-made wealth, therefore contract work and
other independent income is favored but longer term agreement such as a new
corporate-hire position are not.
Shukra-Chandra
period = Chandra in
10th-from-Shukra
Chandra = L-10 from Thula lagna +
L-1 from Meena Chandra
-
his period is beneficial for career.
Chandra is a problematic graha due to Soma's residence in the troubled Ari
Bhava. However, in 10th-from-Shukra, Chandra gives fortune and opportunity
through professional leadership roles during Shukra periods.
-
here may be heavy responsibilities in
service work, perhaps a lower job title than might be expected (bhava-6 for
servitude) and peer or advising relationships are difficult to bring into
stable agreement. Sometimes also sickness, due to Chandra in 6. Nevertheless
the angle is supportive of professional recognition, job promotion, and
nomination to leadership rank.
Shukra-Mangala
period = Mangala in
9th-from-Shukra
"double-L-2" effect = L-2+L-7 from Thula lagna + L-2+L-9 from
Meena Chandra
-
his period is fortunate
Overall due to Mangala's 5/9 angle from Shukra.
-
Mangala in 12th-from-Chandra is a terrible maraka, but Kuja's
favorable angle from Shukra will protect from adverse consequences. the native will receive gifts and opportunities; world travel for scientific or
networking purposes; and religious education or re-connection with a
priestly role.
Shukra-Rahu
period = Rahu in
6th-from-Shukra
Rahu = amplification of both Shani
and Mangala = L-4+L-5 + L-2+L-7 from Thula lagna + L-11+L-12 + L-2+L-9 from
Meena Chandra
-
his period can be forecast to be
exceptionally difficult
[6th-from-mahadashapati]
yet passionately exciting
and very complex!
-
Shukra-Rahu is a classic
timing for impulsive or foreign marriage, typically to a spouse from an
incompatible or conflicting cultural background. the native finds debt, conflict, and
demands from foreigners or outcasts at every turn. Yet, Rahu is with the
YogakarakaShani in this nativity; things can't be all bad.
-
Despite the Shani-Rahu position in
6th-from-Shukra, there may be some opportunity for stability (via L-4) through
educational service or work in the hospitality industry (6). In fact,
the native worked as a teacher.
-
Long-term employment agreements are very
difficult to sustain due to Rahu's unstable and boundary-challenging nature
positioned in the adversarial 6th-from the mahadasha-pati. Yet, however
rocky the path becomes, there will be sufficient capacity to craft
agreements and also sufficient financial resource, food, etc -- due to the
parivartamsha benefit from L-2+L-7 Mangala.
Shukra-Guru
period = Guru in
3rd-from-Shukra
Guru = L-3+L-6 from
Thula lagna + L-1+L-10 from Chandra
-
Similar to the Surya period above, with a
twist: Guru is a papa-graha for Thula lagna . In Guru's karaka function, He
always brings blessings. Brihaspati may be expected to produce children in
His periods no matter what other difficulties might be present. However as
the L-3+L-6 from lagna, Guru is a troublemaker.
-
he L-3 brings excess mentalization, causing a heavy but philosophically superficial
workload of tasks which have little value in apprehending a greater wisdom.
The L-6 brings constant interference from adversaries, servitude to lowly
tasks and trouble from employees or underlings, and often illness consequent
to sustained anxiety and stress.
-
he Shukra-Guru period may provide a mix
of nature's blessings (such as children and wisdom-teachings) along with the
general evils of the 3rd-from angle: excessive administration, planning,
training, and publication related tasks. The 3rd-from angle supports
self-made wealth, therefore contract work and other independent income is
favored but longer term agreement such as a new corporate hired position are
not.
-
if married and separation is
imminent, may be the period of divorce
Shukra-Shani
period = Shani in 6th-from-Shukra;
YogakarakaShani = L-4+L-5 from
Thula lagna + L-11+L-12 from Meena Chandra
-
Exceptionally difficult and demanding with a very heavy workload and almost
no relief [Shani] . Shukra-Shani are a friendly pair therefore the native will not
expect other than sustained hard work as a means to earn the wealth that
Shukra wants. Nevertheless the 6th-from angle promises debt, conflict, and
demands from adversaries, with particular emphasis on financial
disagreements in marital and professional relationship. Yogakaraka Shani will not harm the native but the nature of the work is home-security
oriented (4) and may become especially demanding due to needs of children
(5).
-
Despite the Shani-Rahu position in
6th-from-Shukra, there may be some opportunity for stability through
educational service or work in the hospitality-tourism industry (6).
-
Survival issues push to the fore during
any Shani period, and when Shani occupies 6th-from the mahadasha pati His
pressure will be felt directly in the survival centers of the oldest parts
of the brain. There is a powerful urge to worry (Shani) about money while
the desire for wealth (Shukra) remains uncomfortably strong. Yet, however
rocky the path becomes, there will be sufficient life balance and also
sufficient financial resource, food, etc -- due to the parivartamsha benefit
from L-2+L-7 Mangala.
Shukra-Budha
period = Budha in 4th-from-Shukra
Budha = L-9+L-12 from Thula lagna +
L-4+L-7 from Meena Chandra
-
4th-from-Shukra is always difficult.
Also
by this point in the Vimshottari narrative, the native will have experienced
negative stress and pressure from a long series of unfavorable angles
during the bhukti periods of Surya, Rahu, Guru, and Shani. Indeed even the
Shukra/Shukra period is inauspicious due to Shukra's "double-L-8"
role.
-
Uchcha Budha forecasts a period of sharp
conversational, linguistic, computational, and administrative capabilities.
12 = research and 9 = philosophy
-
Budha is also a karaka for
educational achievement via writing and examinations in the
Budha-discipline of linguistics. the native completed a graduate
after finishing a complex written thesis and defense in the
Shukra/Budha period.
-
Affiliation with universities (9) temples
(9) and
meditation centers (12) foreign lands and cultures
(12).
-
he dream life will be vivid. Career-wise
however there is little momentum. Troubles at home (4) such as parenting
issues, home stability or security, and conflicts about money or property,
will be the typical troubles during a period of 4th-from-Shukra. Budha's
good status in the nativity assists in the articulation and graciousness of
the situation, but the auspice of the period of any graha in 4th-from-Shukra
is problematic.
Shukra-Ketu
period = Ketu in 12th-from-Shukra,
Ketu's lord = Shukra
Ketu = gives mainly the effects of "double
L-8" Shukra = L-1+L-8 from
Thula lagna + L-3+L-8 from Meena Chandra
-
this period, lasting approximately
2.2 years, forecasts an intensive experience of
death-and-rebirth of the personality-identity
.
-
Shukra/Ketu period will not kill
the physical body; however there is so little forward-moving physical
energy (1) available that the native may succumb to the dissolution of vitality (exhaustion) syndromes
which often
accompany sustained effects of 12th-from. (Various types of
infections, inability to heal, mental disengagement.)
-
In addition as the final bhukti of
a 20-year mahadasha, the Ketu sub-period of
Shukra Mahadashais a
time of closure, completion, and forgiveness. It is nearly impossible
to start anything of importance during a final bhukti - such as a new
marriage, a new job, moving into a new home etc.
-
A natural
malefic in 8th-from-lagna which is also 12th-from-mahadashapati cannot
yield much benefit, excepting in tantrik or psychic development where it can
give extraordinary insight. In the material world, this period will give
loss, wandering, uncertainty, and rejection of the "normal".
-
Disconnection and disassociation in relationships (Shukra). Loss of interest
in conventional religion and apathy regarding the university and temple
system which disseminates the higher knowledge. Protective, vitalizing Kundalini energy
flow may dwindle , resulting in
temporary and recoverable
injury to brain, neck, or
spine.
-
End of a
cycle. A good deal must be
forgiven, including career and professional
aspirations which did not materialize during the many difficult sub-periods
of Shukra Mahadasha. Excellent period for dream work and
ego-detachment
focus
in meditation.
|
|
Mahadasha of Surya
Overall character of the period:
-
L-11 = dominated by L-3+L-6
Guru because Brihaspati has the higher degree.
-
L-6 = usury + indebtedness,
conditions of poverty.
-
Budha lord of 11th from Surya =
L-12 in 12 "expenses on good account". Budha gives
the stronger effect of His
mulatrikona rashi
. There may be significant expenses which harm the material luxury
levels but which do produce a spiritually beneficial
outcome. For example, expenses incurred for purchase of
library study time (12) or religious retreat time
(12) or to fund distant pilgrimage travel (12).
Overall success = marred by Surya = L-6 from Chandra + Surya is strong by shad-bala.
-
Therefore animosity, debt, and disagreement
on an emotional level (Chandra lagna) may increase even while
social-material goal achievement (11th from radix lagna) is
accomplished

CAREER:
11th from
Surya = primary source of earnings
during Surya major period = dharma bhava.
L-9 = uchcha Budha in 12 = income from temple or university sources
10th-from-Surya = bhava-8 featuring
Ketu, a graha of
detachment, meditation, disconnection, and withdrawal from material
life obstacles to spiritual progress. Surya Mahadasha produces an era of
inwardness and Detachment from public career.
-
Shukra and Surya = mutual enemies,
inauspicious.
-
Mahadasha of Simha Surya = famed
as a time when the native wants [six years of] "peace and
quiet"at the top of the mountain (Simha) for the purpose of developing one's awareness of
divine
intelligence (Ravi)in the universe (11).
-
Despite Surya's swakshetra
auspiciousness and Surya's association with performance art, Mahadasha
Simha Surya does not normally produce great Outer expressions in
the native 's public life.
-
bhava-8 = 10th-from=Ravi = Tantric
or transformative practices. Shukra occupies the rashi of Mithuna in
bhava-9, which brings association of communication and writingin
the topical area of religion and humanistic spiritual philosophy. the native 's career expression is greatly limited by Ketu in
10th-from-Surya during the Surya mahadasha, but such
production as there is = ephemeral or spiritualized writings
Surya/Surya = 'swabhukti'
Surya = L-11 from Thula lagna and
L-6 from Meena Chandra
-
Social-material 6-month forward burst of positive
will power (Ravi), social networking (11) and
goal-achievement energy
(11).
-
Emotional period of conflict in
regard to parenting (Chandra) and home-base relationships
(Chandra). Emotionally motivated illness, typically fever
(Surya L-6 from Chandra).
Surya/Chandra
period,
-
Chandra = L-10 from Thula lagna +
L-1 from Meena Chandra
-
Social-material and emotional difficulties due
to 6/8 angle Chandra-Surya.
-
Sudden, forced changes (8) in parenting
(Chandra) and other emotional-habitual behaviors caused by the new agenda
of Surya's social activism (11) and goal=oriented behaviors
Surya/
Mangala period,
Surya/
Rahu period,
Surya/
Guru period, Guru = L-3+L-6 from
Thula lagna + L-1+L-10 from Chandra
Surya/
Shani period,
Surya/
Budha period,
Surya/
Ketu period,
Surya/Shukra
period,
Shukra = L-1+L-8 from Thula lagna +
L-3+L-8 from Meena Chandra
-
coming at the end of
six years of Surya Mahadasha , brought a period of intense, productive
writing on tantric and mystical subjects, including the Vidya of Jyotisha.
This writing generated career visibility and some public dignity of
leadership in the field.
-
It is not reasonable to expect high
levels of career success during Surya Mahadasha .
-
Surya's empowerment is restrictedby a harsh aspect from enemy Shani.
-
In addition the bhukti which might have
produced the maximum career recognition, Surya/Shukra, occurred during the
Transit of Shani through Surya's rashi of Simha- thus doubling the
oppression upon gainfulness and mobility in the marketplace.

Mahadasha of
Chandra. L-10 occupies Aristhana = 9th-from-10th and 10th from 9th.Karmadhipati=
Lord
of radix Karmaa Bhava
BPHS 47:26 says: "If a
strong Chandra is placed in
Ari,
Randhra, or
Vyaya, there
will be troubles and good times, on and off."
|
Chandra
Mahadasha
= in general a more
favorable period for career, but the overall character of the career
is broadly defined and limited by the administrative, training,
publishing, and media-management task list of bhava-3
-
Lord Guru is favorable as the ruler of
the upa-chaya(improving with time) bhava-3 and bhava-6 residing
in upa-chaya house-11.
-
Lord Guru is well-positioned in a
fortunate 5-9 angle from bhava-3, Dhanushya.
-
Guru = lord of Meena Chandra,
which raises the auspiciousness of career activities during
Chandra
Mahadasha
.
-
Like Surya, Guru receives the drishti
of Shani. However for Guru, Shani is not a fierce enemy, and the drishti
can be managed with attention to rules and regulations of the nation,
state, and organization within which the native is working.
A modest improvementin career
status and recognition can be expected, particularly in Chandra/Guru period.
-
the nature of career activities will be
Guru-focused.
-
Brihaspati is the karaka for
Teaching,
especially humanistic, philosophical, or religiousteaching.
-
In Simha, Guru has a special affinity
for ethical philosophy.
The down-side:
-
bhava-3 is a house of conventional
business and scripted, daily communications. Meetings, conferences,
planning, scheduling, and much administration are entailed.
-
As lord of bhava-3 and bhava-6, Guru
always brings some annoyances and conflicts.
-
10th-from-Chandra = bhava-3 = too much
administrative work.
-
Guru as lord of Chandra and also Guru as
lord of 10th-from-Chandra = too much interaction with poverty, victims,
exploitation, class conflict, loss of agreement, medicine/health, and social
work.
|
|
Chandra/Chandra
period = 10 months duration
BPHS Chap 43: 3-6 says: "If Chandra is ... in Ari... Loss of wealth, loss of position, lethargy, agony, antagonism towards the king and ministers,
distress to mother, imprisonment and loss of kinsmen will be the evil effects in
Chandra's Antara Dasha."
|
Result: although there was some adversarial
behavior from difficult persons in the workplace (6) and poor health due
to hormonal causes (6, chandra) no long-term damage sustained from
conflict or illness. As L-10 for the present nativity, Chandra sustains
the career despite adversarial conditions internally in the body or
externally in the workplace.
Chandra = L-10 from Thula lagna +
L-1 from Meena Chandra
-
Generally a stable and emotionally
grounded period focused on public leadership responsibilities (10)

(10th-from-10th
Kuja = Lord of 10th-from- Arudha-Lagna Kuja = Lord of
Karma-pada (arudha of L-10)
BPHS Chap 43: 7-8 says: "If Mangala is
in a trikona, advancement of fortune, recognition by the government, gain of clothes and ornaments, success in all efforts, increase in agricultural production and prosperity at home and profits in business
will be the favourable effects of the
Antara Dasha of Mangala in the Dasha of Chandra."
|
(Results: a relatively gainful 8-month period
featuring gain of clothes and ornaments (5) however accompanied by the
ever-present expenses (Mangala occupies 12th-from-mahadashapati) and skin
afflictions (Kumbha).)
-
Mangala has a "double-L-2"
effect =
-
dissolution and exhaustion
(12th-from) of the emotional (astral) body;
-
trouble with
face-eyes-throat-mouth-hair-ears (2) also skin because Mangala
occupies Kumbha, the rashi of skin
|
|
Chandra/
Rahu
period= 18 months duration
-
Rahu occupies 9th-from-Chandra
-
Rahu = amplifies both Shani
and Mangala
Shani = L-4+L-5 from
Thula lagna
Mangala = L-2+L-7 from Thula lagna
Shani = L-11+L-12 from
Meena Chandra
Mangala = L-2+L-9 from

, benefits from the South-West direction

there will be body trouble (physical affliction)."

Thula lagna + L-11+L-12 from Meena Chandra;
-
Shani occupies9th-from-Chandra
|
the Chandra-Shani
period will produce equivalence of gains vs expenses. Because
12th from Chandra = putra bhava, "expenses on good account"
(12th) = most likely related to children.
This will be the
year that the native 's child goes to college - anticipated
expense is high.
-

-
Acquisition of a vehicle, a home or
