Wealth 18 A Professional Man with Money Worries Shani's Fears and Shukra's Dissatisfied Idealization Anxiety Masks a True Natural Prosperity Special attention to
I am great fan of you. and a frequent visitor of to your website to understand the complex science of astrology. But when it comes to application of this knowledge I completely fail to do so for my own good. May be I do not as good analysing power as much it is required to apply knowledge and find solutions. I do not have money for your consultation services it is too expensive for me. I am having issues with my career and not satisfied due to monetary reasons. ... I am currently under Mangal Mahadasha and Venus (R) Antardasha which is just started. I do understand that you may not have time to go through the entire horoscope due to your busy schedule. The only request I have if you could suggest me that ever in my life I shall have some money to fulfill my dreams or I shall be frustrated entire my life. Your feedback and support shall be highly appreciated and if I can be of any help to you, it will be my pleasure to do that…. ...Kind Regards, For educational purposes, here is the nativity of an educated 33-year-old male native who is suffering money worries. He asks, "Ever in my life I shall have some money to fulfill my dreams or I shall be frustrated entire my life?" Money anxiety, although an anxiety-driven mental deception, is certainly very natural and widespread. Both Shani and Shukra instruct the reptile brain that the best way to survive is to accumulate, stockpile, and hoard. Shani rules fear, human group conformity, and social control. There is certainly no better device of social control than fear. Fear of physical suffering combined with a belief that accumulated money is the only route to the realization of dreams is really the perfect ideological package for the chthonic forces which bind us to this realm of misery, worry, anxiety, and fear. First examine the at-birth condition of the money houses (2, 11, 5, 9) then see whether Shani's frightened reptile-brain programming is blocking the native 's faith in his own financial capabilities. If the money houses are good, then the problem may be poverty-karaka Shani. Luckily, if the overall intelligence is strong, Shani's fears can be tamed and released through meditative awareness and compassionate action. L-2+L-11 Budha The first places to look for "good news" in terms of wealth, material resources, stored assets etc. is bhava-2, the house of "Banking" and bhava-11 the house of "gains of income". Dhana bhava displays Savings and Labha bhava displays Income. On the material plane it is generally the relationship between the L-2 and the L-11 which show the material acquisition levels. Money in the Bank In Renaissance Italy, men used a wooden bench in the marketplace as a desk to make small business loans, and one could go "to the Bench" to borrow money which others had deposited with the Bench-Man. The Italian word for Bench (banco) translates into English as "Bank". L-2+L-11 Budha in lagna For Simha lagna+ L-2 and L-11 = Budha. Budha is in excellent condition, in the radix lagna, associated with the lagnesha Surya who is very healthy in swakshetra. Budha is also associated with L-3+L-10 Shukra. p>Although Surya and Shukra are unfriendly toward each other, Budha is a neutral, and L-3 Shukra is also a money planet for self-earned wealth. Budha = lord of Kanya, the karakamsha. Budha holds the keys to the native 's greater destiny, which is - ironically - the native 's social role as a money manager, banker, or custodian of collections of material assets. The Karakamsha shows those actions (karakas) for which the person is best known. This native is best known for his intelligent accumulations and ability to organize (Budha) and glamorize (Simha) stored values. Budha makes the native verbally articulate and able to set clearly defined goals. combustShukra in lagna, be on alert for hubris The only issue with Budha is that Budha must contend with the combust .htm"> moudhya retrograde Shukra. Simha rashi is a hot, hostile territory for cool, agreeable Shukra. L-3+L-10 Shukra (also lord of 6th and 11th from Chandra) can suffer from petulant lack of confidence in the exquisite beauty of the divine plan, due to excessive personal ego of the dominating and idealistic Sun. ( Surya in Simhalagna represents the influence of a very strong willed Father.)
Recommendation: take care to live in a state of gratitude, and remember to express appreciation for the beauty and wealth of each day granted in this life. The tendency to devalue the many forms of wealth which one currently enjoys while pining for some idealized future acquisition is a major mental trap. Moudhya Shukra in Simha is notorious for creating this dysfunctionally idealistic dissatisfaction with the natural levels of beauty and wealth in one's life. However if the mental awareness can be focused upon the "idealization trap" signifiedby Shukra, periods of Budha will be most powerful in advancing the banked values of dhana bhava, the karakamsha. Periods of L-3+L-10 Shukra can also advance the career and promote wealth through self-owned business. L-3+L-10 Shukra in lagna Shukra's role as L-10 for dignified public leadership does indeed cause a loss of income during Shukra periods. Shukra = lord of 12th-from-labha-bhava (lost income) and 8th-from-putra-bhava (shocking results from speculation). L-10's reputation for causing loss of income occurs because the higher one's leadership position, the less one's time to develop direct financial income. For example, USA Presidents have enormous prestige, but their salary is very small - not even enough to buy a house in a nice neighborhood of a large city! That is one reason why Presidents live in the White House - their salary is so small that unless their spouse has other business investments, they would be almost homeless whilst carrying on world leadership. It is generally the same for most high leaders, they do not have time to devote to marketplace activities while performing their hierarchical duties. Non-monetary Values, action of the L-10 (Shukra) and the L-1 (Surya) in lagna In the current period, Kuja/Shukra, the native may be called into prestigious leadership roles which are very time consuming. Naturally, time spent in public service management roles is time lost (12th) from marketplace activities such as getting promotions (11) and reaching financial goals (11). Shani is the natural regulator of Karma bhava and also Shani rules Scarcity and Time. Shukra is favorable for gaining public respect. Consider the value of that respect not in terms of money in the bank, but rather in terms of spiritual and psychological validationfor the value of one's work and one's contribution to society. Responsible positions which arise during periods of the L-10 (Shukra) might not increase the bank balance nor improve the value of one's stock portfolio, but the psychic and psychological effect of receiving respect and appreciation from society is a deep form of security that should be valued accordingly. In later periods of Budha, one will recover the value of the time lost during periods of L-10 and L-1. The L-1 being 12th-from-Dhana is also a drain upon bank accounts but it too provides a non-monetary value which is vitality and approval for one's personality and physical appearance. Mahadasha Pati = YogakarakaL-4+L-9 Kuja in Karma bhava with Ketu Periods of the Yogakarakaare excellent in general. One is blessed with a home, vehicles, education, and religious wisdom. Mangala/Shukra period Relationship between L-4+L-9 Kuja and L-3+L-10 Shukra = the 4/10 angle. Auspicious and stable. Shukra = lord of 6th and 11th from the Dhanau (Purvashadha) Chandra. From Chandra lagna Kuja Kuja mahadasha, effects of Mangala's lordship include gain of children and speculative creativity due to Mangala's role as lord of 5th-from-Chandra with tenant Guru in Mesha. Yet Kuja is also lord of 12th-from-Chandra, which gives permanent worrying for the seven years of Mangala's reign. Ketu Kuja at 9- Krittika has too-close proximity to Ketu at 4-Krittika. This proximity makes Kuja very psychically sensitive, opening the downside potential for the native to become passive-aggressive Ketu is extremely passive but visionary; Kuja is very aggressive but also instinctive and direct. Mixing the two can create passive-aggressive action esp. in career. Rahu Rahu in 12th-from-Chandra amplifies and magnifies a tendency toward psychological disturbance from worrying about the potential for catastrophic loss in the life. This is a carryover from past lives. There is subconscious anxiety which sits directly under the boundary of consciousness, and erupts when Rahu is triggered by transit or drishti or the periods of Rahu's house lord. Behari says, "This placement causes social maladjustment, heart afflictions, and secret diseases." Kuja Mahadasha, emotional Emotional effects of the Kuja/Shukra period are mixed. Shukra bhukti stimulates some loss of emotional agreement with the spouse and emotionally based health problems. the native must consciously manage sugar intake, and regulate one's relationships with women and pleasure. This is a lifelong situation and not a threat to the marriage per se. The effect is lifelong because Shukra the karaka for wife is also lord of 6th-from-Chandra. This reality is simply exacerbated during Shukra periods. It's nothing new and the native will use his normal coping skills to continue to negotiate the chronic marital imbalance. Shukra is also lord of 11th-from-Chandra, with the auspice for gains and achievement of goals esp. material or pleasure-related goals. Success is predicted particularly with regard to products or ideas of interest to women, and in the entertainment, fashion, and communications industries. L-5 Guru L-5 rules good fortune through gaming and speculation. L-5 shows the results of taking intelligent risks. L-5 shows one's psychic ability to channel divine intelligence and to hear the clairaudient signals which instruct the native on how to enjoy life's game, how to receive praise, and how to win! If the L-5 is in good condition along with L-5 from Chandra, the ego-life will be satisfying. L-5 Guru is in good shape+ L-5 in dharma bhava is very auspicious. Guru occupies 5th-from-Chandra, bringing blessings of children and grandchildren. Guru is the psycho-emotionally auspicious lord of Chandra, bringing an optimistic attitude supported by a natural generosity of spirit and cheerful attention to ceremonial religious practice. For Simha lagna, the Devapati is also lord of Randhra bhava, the house of hidden information and sudden changes - the house of the tantrik hunter. L-8 in bhava-9 brings fortune through secret knowledge and confidential dealings. the native must develop high levels of gracious discrimination in order to maintain the boundaries of confidentiality whilst conducting a morally appropriate lifestyle. One may do well in environmental professions, recycling, emergency management, and the handling of hazardous or tantric ritual materials. There should be some element of danger in the religious practice - perhaps only the "danger" losing one's public facade of self-righteousness! Behari says, "You will be successful in society, respected by people but full of "blind" faith. You will have an unexplained fear of the unknown." Kuja over- stimulates Rahu (fear of foreigners/fear of taboo things) in 12th-from-Chandra. If one will take a pro-active stance toward managing this deep subconscious fear of the unknown (8), which is absolutely exacerbated during Kuja mahadasha, then you can have great success in this world. L-9 Kuja Money which comes through the actions of the L-9 is not earned and not saved. Nor is it won by gaming or intelligent speculation. Money which comes through Dharma bhava and its agents arrives on time, in the amount needed for the present purpose. It comes from having a "clear mockup". One who lives for the purpose of divine experience, who enjoys being in conversation with the spirits, who can listen for instructions but also has some creative intention to perform compassionate actions (which need material resources to succeed) - this one may have endless wealth. a href="../Spirituality/spir2_Yogananda.htm"> Paramahamsa Yogananda says, "Success is not to be measured by how much material wealth is possessed, but whether you are able to create at will what you need." YogakarakaL-9 Kuja is in good shape in this nativity, except as mentioned in Mangala's role as L-12-from-Chandra. Prognosis for deep satisfaction through religion, bhava-9 dharma bhava, is very strong indeed. One may fruitfully practice religious ritual with high consciousness, and expect to realize all the wealth that is needed to complete the divine agenda for which one took birth here on Earth. Father: an obstacle to Genuine Faith
Guru in bhava-9 with strength can give karako bhavo nashto, often an over-competitive or self-righteous father. Remove the father's overbearing psychic influence and realize much happiness through religion. Why Worry? L-2+ L-11+ L-5, and L-9 are all in good condition. Budha, Guru, and Kuja are all in reasonably good relationship to Chandra. So, why does this fellow worry about money? What is the source of his fearful presumption that he might never have the money to realize his dreams? Clearly there is nothing to fear in this nativity. As Franklin Delano Roosevelt famously said to millions of terrified Americans in the depths of the Great Depression, "There is nothing to fear but fear itself." Clearly, the fear has come to dominate the native 's mind, regardless of his true positive supports for gains of both spiritual (9) and material (2, 5, 11) wealth. The culprit is L-6+L-7 Shani in vyaya bhava, home of the Imagination. Behari says, "Saturn often makes you indigent, shabbily dressed, penurious in your habits, and unhealthy in your general attitude. You may also suffer many physical ailments." In general, a malefic graha within a dusthamsha (bhava 6, 8, 12) results in a good outcome - eventually. In this nativity, social and physical conflict arising from old karma carried by the L-6 is plunged into the subconscious imagination (12) and thus the conflict is muted, giving not the awful full force of broken promises and internal argumentation that the L-6 can produce when fully empowered. So L-6 in 12 is generally a good thing. Psychology of "Denial" The downside is the psychological condition of "denial" which can seduce the native into low-level, under-the-conscious-radar style of fretful but non-specific anxiety, whilst the active material awareness says "nothing is wrong so don't take any corrective action". Denial in the psychological sense can be a major blocker of positive corrective action that is needed to reverse the breakdown of contracts and agreements that is caused by Shani being L-6 (12th from 7th for alliances and contracts.) Correcting Fear-driven "Denial" Luckily this possible obstacle of denial can be addressed through intelligence, because L-12 Chandra is auspiciously located in bhava-5 for intelligence and speculative thought. the native can correct the denial first, then correct the imbalances. The only thing to fear is fear itself.According to Sogyal Rinpoche, the single greatest spiritual obstacle in life is doubt. The natural enemy of confidence ("together with faith") is indeed Doubt. Both self-doubt and doubt in the power of the divine (although these two are simply mirror images of the same lack of confidence.) The intelligence of this nativity is high quality due to the 5/9 angle between Budha and Chandra. the native 's discriminating intelligence can be successfully deployed to reverse the psycho-emotional paralysis which often results when ancient-karma Shani controls the house of dreams and worries. The intelligent solution is to bring all fears into the light of reason, assess them for accuracy, and any fear which is unreasonable can be released. Underlying marital disagreement as a psychic drain Shani's role as L-7 is more problematic when Shani resides in bhava-12. The marital agreement may be compromised through animosity from the spouse (L-7 in 6th-from-yuvati bhava). One tends to respond to the fear of spousal animosity by traveling long distances and effecting materially-driven separations, esp. due to work in distant lands. However in order to root out the historic grief (due to collapsed alliances in past lives which had deadly consequences) one must "take the bull by the horns" and address the spousal inequities. Forgiveness to open up prosperity channels Deep resentment and bitter disappointments on both sides of the spousal contract must be articulated and each party commit to forgive the other's transgressions of body, mind, or spirit. Otherwise Shani's fear may fester and despite excellent financial planets the native could live a life of penury and despair. That would be sad because the fears are PHANTOMS of a past life, they are not fixed but rather quite fluid. Bringing them into consciousness through forgiveness will release them! Shani does not directly control the financial houses yet He can drain the psychic energy so severely that even good wealth graha like Budha cannot get energized to gain and accumulate. Gochara Shani: Spreading Fear Given Shani's natal position, gochara Shani can bring tremendous stress from negative projections into the current lifetime. The good news is that fear can be managed through consciousness. The main indicators of mental health and consciousness - Budha for daily mentalizing and thinking tasks+ L-3 Shukra for the "internal narrative" or the conversation that one is having constantly with oneself - are both strong and positive. The problem is that Shani is also the depressive L-3 from Chandra (Kumbha), makes Shani the major indicator of the psycho-emotional mind. Shani's fearful negativity has crept into the psycho-mental narrative of this native. Yet the native does have, on the material level, a quite prosperous kundali! Gochara Shani Money Troubles: Shani oppresses L-1+ L-2+L-11+ L-3+L-10 NEARLY FINISHED! Shani from bhava-12 casts drishti upon bhava-2 (savings, hoards and stockpiles) while L-2+L-11 Budha during the transit is utterly oppressed by Shani's negativity also. These have been 2.3 bad years indeed. The good news is that gochara Shani moves Damage by gochara drishti: Shani's survival fear enters domains 1, 3, 7, 10 From his gochara seat in bhava-1, Shani casts a transiting drishti upon bhava-3 for self-earned wealth (and mental-commercial transactions), upon bhava-7 for contracts and partnerships (including the marriage partnership) and upon bhava-10 for leadership responsibilities. ONLY he 10th gochara drishti has been beneficial, since Shani increases the work ethic and one's professional efforts in career will generally be recognized shortly after the end of the transit. Shani has also been moving through the 12th dashamsha for career, where Shanaiscarya's survival fear has oppressed the otherwise positive Simha Surya with Rahu in D-10. The impacted houses represent the 3rd, 6th, 8th, and 11th from Chandra. Gochara Rahu-Ketu = A nxious Worrying about Survival First one experiences the dissolving and dissociative transit of Ketu across the Simha lagna, Oct-2006 until May-2008. The will to succeed is somewhat dissolved, and one feels a lack of anchoring in the material world, at the end of Ketu's transit to lagna, Budha, Shukra, and Surya. The ego-identity is weakened in Ketu's wake. (Spiritually an advance, but materially a stagnation.) Then, to amplify the fear of shortage and penury as much as possible, the native has endured the gochara effect of Ketu contact to natal Shani in radix vyaya bhava and 8th-from-Chandra, And because Shani is VargottamshaKetu's drishti stimulates the spouse's fears as well. Worst effects = May-2008 until Nov-2009.
(bhava-12 is the house of imagination but when Shani resides there vyaya bhava becomes the house of imaginary fears.) p>At the time of writing, malefic Ketu the Dissolver at 6 degrees of Karkata is bearing down on malefic natal Shani the Survivor at 3 Karkata, which results in the native imagination going berserk with random and diverse types of Anxious Worrying about Survival.Since Ketu travels "backwards" the worst insecurity and fear of "never having enough" because as L-7 Shani makes agreements, Ketu comes through and dissolves them! Luckily Ketu will exit the rashi of Karkata, = bhava-12 = past-life baggage, in Nov-2009 - only five months in the future at the time of this writing. Summary and conclusion There are certainly other Jyotisha effects which bear consideration toward the final prognosis, but the major result of the inquiry above is that The survival-fear pressure of Shani has been exacerbated by transit, unreasonably increasing the native 's fear of scarcity despite the nativity containing a number of strong and healthy financial planets. Shani is the culprit. Shani return = Sept 2004 until Nov 2006. Then, immediately following, since Nov-2006, gochara Shani in Simha has cast a transiting drishti upon
Rahu-Ketu's transit through 6-12 axis in 2-8 from Chandra while contacting Shani is the perfect recipe for evoking the non-specific negativity and fear housed in the subconscious realms, just waiting to arise to consciousness for evaluation, forgiveness, and release. Prediction Much of the stress will pass with time. One big relief occurs in early Sept 2009 when Shani exits Simha and the oppression upon L-2+L-11 Budha is finished. It is true that Shani will enter bhava-2 - a house into which Shani already casts natal drishti - which indicates sustained low capability to hoard material assets until Shani exits Kanya in Aug-2012. However the highly impressionable mentalistic L-2+L-11 Budha will be liberated from Shani's oppressive negative scarcity-thinking, and the good news is that the native can approach the savings task with practical attention rather than fear. Shani is shrewd practical and crafty with good attention to law and structural requirements when Shani functions in a house of His good friend Shukra. Therefore Shani transit through bhava-2 can be expected to yield only modest savings, but the worry about the future will be replaced with honest work and slow but steady accumulation.
So again the next 3 years are a time of slow progress but progress nevertheless. The main task to disengage the historic, past-life fear which is hiding in the 12th radix house of Sanctuary, and this house is also 8th-from-Chandra. the native is extremely intelligent and articulate (Budha strong) and the L-12 Chandra who is the "gatekeeper" of the contents of vyaya bhava is very auspiciously placed in putra bhava, the house of divine intelligence and creative gamesmanship.
The only thing to fear is fear itself.
Father and Wife, problematic agents It may help to imagine a state in which one is liberated from the projected influence of both the father and the wife. In that liberated state, one may apply one's natural intelligence to the resolution of one's own problems. However it will be necessary to control the negative projections of those two key agents, father (dissatisfaction from idealization of Surya/Guru) and wife (basic material fear, need for shelter) before getting to work on liberating one's own fears. Apositive path toward satisfaction and prosperity It is recommended that both the native and the spouse live a life of true faith which can CELEBRATE the prosperity which they already enjoy and WORK toward an abundant future with CONFIDENCE in divine love and guidance. Best results to invest faith not in people, authorities, governments, or "safety" but rather directly in the divine, to evoke the radiant blessingsin this nativity's powerful Surya and Guru placements. Recommended Seva One form of Seva that can help release the blockage would be for you to make small investments in a microcredit bankwhich serves underprivileged women. Ideally the impoverished but positive-thinking women would be involved in making some type of clothing or jewelry or other adornments that provide glamour and glitter (Simha) primarily to women and ideally for sale at a small price. Helping others to accumulate material assets - one tiny step at a time - is a great way to train the moudhya-Shukra mind to appreciate that even small amounts of wealth are valuable. Wishing you the best success in your Jyotisha studies. Sincerely, B.P. Lama, Jyotisha |
